      Hello. The heat has definitely been a factor this year for us as well. Some things just will not grow as well and the heat is killing some of our things as well. The variety of Long Bean we are using is Asparagus Bean Yardlong. Ther are the Hierloom type from Burpee (UPC 62190A). The bed we usually grow them in is partially shaded, so we believe that helps. Thanks so much for watching! Keep Growing and Learning.

      Hey there fellow Georgia Girl! Yes I do have a few tips from my own experience. We plant marigolds throughout our garden beds to bring pollinators and eliminate certain garden pests. We have also learned if you plant your Basil between you Tomato plants it helps to keep the Horn Worms at bay. Planting any herbs among you plants will utiilize space and take away from your main plants. And Thanks So Much for watching. We are so glad people are starting to embrace our passion for Gardening and Cooking.

    • @cookingwiththefrisbys4068
      @cookingwiththefrisbys4068 11 месяцев назад

      Hi there! Well yes and no...I currently utilize a system that comes from the back of the house. That main one is on a timer that feeds down to a secondary timer with 4 outlets. They are battery operated so you have to make sure to check them...we found that out the hard way, LOL! Go check out Lowes for the devices. As far as the irrigation hoses we use, I'm still not completely satisfied. We moved from soaker hoses in some beds because they get brittle and break, however the PVC with weeping holes doesn't seem to put out as much water as I would like. Thanks for watching!

    Not sure if y’all know but you can eat the greens off sweet potatoes as well as the tubers. DO NOT EAT ANY OTHER POTATO GREENS! Only sweet potato greens. You can also eat radish and beet greens as well as the radish or beet. I love normal old baking potatoes and roasting potatoes but I am interested in growing the most food in a small amount of space. I’m not sure why you’re peppers seem to not being so well. I would get some vegetable fertilizers for tomato and give some feed. I’m thinking from planting maybe your soil is being drained of nutrients and maybe it wasn’t replenished. Or maybe the hay is changing the pH to where they don’t like it. I’m not sure what it does to the pH because we don’t mulch with it. I want to let you know though that peppers are not something you have to replant every year. ☺️ dig them up. Put them in a pot and bring them in from the cold and keep them alive. They can live 3-5 years! Maybe longer. I’m not sure. I have a jalapeño on year 3!! I have kept it in the pot the last 2 years. Hello though from a fellow Georgia gardener. We actually didn’t grow a whole garden this year as we were suppose to move. But I am now putting in some late plantings since we haven’t moved yet. Trying to squeeze in some food for us since everything has begun to be so crazy. 🖤
