Really love how this is turning out. Tried to focus on being faithful to the original while also allowing opportunities for the newer tech of UE5 to shine. Work in progress, still need to tweak some thigs and add ambient sounds/grav lift physics to the level.

Man does this hobby have a steep learning curve! Im still focusing on blender, ue5, unity stuff, but taking time from uploading videos of that content to actually improve my skills with them. Mainly programming for UE and unity. For now though, just wanted to show off this really cool pic I got of our galaxy.

@@Fina1Ragnarok eh about the same lighting and the distant green fog doesn't look to grand. It could be better not saying it's bad but it's about the same
@@dylanhead3820 It's the same because all the original light sources are there and Halo 3 rendered the lighting from those sources. Probably says more about Halo 3's og lighting tbh. It was decent but that's because it was essentially made the same way UE5 does it , just that it took hours for Bungie to prerender it and then they baked the lighting, which means it was static. UE5 could allow the lighting to change in realtime or have dynamic light sources.
I've made some improvements to the lighting since then. You'll be seeing that soon enough :)

A decent concept but I think the lighting is too dark for this map. Would like to see a 1:1 with the vibrant lighting construct has with the waterfall backdrop and ark skybox.
@helljumper5613 in the later video with the spartan laser I fixed a lot of lighting issues. Also, now that I've done guardian with accuracy in mind, I think I will try an alt version of the map going for the OG feel. Thanks for stopping by

No. It definately improves the possibility of good Halo games now tho. Deving an engine alongside the game is fucking stupid and its no wonder infinite was half finished and 1000 years too late after halo 5. However at this point they basically have zero excuses now. They either get back to doing, fuck, ANY fan-suggested games as the bare minimum or they need to put this franchise to bed. And i say that as a dude who loves this franchise so much its unhealthy 🤣🤣

@captainnemo4940 can you specify what you mean by the time? I tried to make the charge time the same as the OG, which is 2.5 seconds. But, if you have found an inaccuracy, I would love to hear what, exactly!
@@MasterJett1 i think after the shot the laser dissipates slower. When the laser actually fires, i recall it being a tad bit more blinding. But it's been years since i picked up a spartan laser in halo 3.
I think he means the quick pulse/flash of red right before the laser fires. Edit: I lied. Probably talking about the size and the amount of time the laser appears after firing
@@MasterJett1 I meant that the actual laser feels like it disappears too quickly. It should be a bit more gradual. Also, you should add an effect that makes the whole screen brighter. Like when the laser is fired it should feel almost blinding to look at for a second. Thats what made the original SP from halo 3 feel so powerful. Like you just shot someone with the power of the sun.
Also, its just a personal preference but I feel like the gun itself should have a visual queue to show the actual charging of the shot being fired.

For the AR Ammo Counter, the display background color when full and the ammo counter color are too similar so you can't really tell exactly how much ammo you have, either have it not take up the entire display like in reach or 3, or have a scanline effect like in SPV3

Ahh I think I see. If you mean the "cod" feeling with the text notification appearing when I get a headshot, for example, let me clarify. I am using an FPS start template in the engine. Please read description. Despite this, I have made a new video showcasing a blueprint revamp so it is more accurate. When I upload a video focused on combat next, my goal is to make it as accurate as possible. This project is a personal challenge for me, so please keep bringing in the feedback with each upload. I just made an update video, and the process will continue. Thank you for the feedback

How are the physics in Unreal? None of the newer halos have the old Bungie physics and it’s so telling. Games on Unreal all tend to feel similar to each other every gen because of certain limitations it has in areas. I still remember growing up during the 360/ps3 era wondering why so many games looked and felt similar to each other despite different devs and publishers. If the new Halo or even Battlefield will be on Unreal, I hope they’ll be able to imitate the old iconic gameplay and environmental factors.
@Theosake I'm curious about the physics as well. One of my next vids is gonna be trying to recreate the physics accurately in ue5, it'll be a challenge but I'm hopeful
The physics Bungie and 343 used are from the Havok engine, not from Blam/slip-space, and it was announced that they will still be using Havok with Unreal

As cool as this is, i hope 4v4 dies with 343. Halo needs innovation. We can't rebrand and just do the same thing we've been doing for the past 20 years. Say what you about Halo 5, but that was the multiplayer I most enjoyed out of any 343 game.
Innovation doesn't mean you have to get rid of the core audience most popular mode? I'm all for Halo branching out but don't forget the reason we are here is because 343 tried to change the formula too much, not the other way round.
What do you mean? H5 was 4v4. Competitive Halo will always be 4v4, it's been that way since 2001. Zero reason to change that formula. We have other playlists for BTB or whatever people want to play. That's the beauty of Halo.

Yeah I love a high FOV. Just up to taste. And the reticle being centered is also a matter of preference but I can see how that may look odd compared to the og games
