@@Adriaan-bb6kv Thank you. We are a bit limited with good venues at the moment with Darlington being closed. Kommandodrif other side of Cradock is excellent but just too full at the moment with lots of thorn trees and structure in the water but we patiently waiting. Couple of other dams are also 100% so it's a bit difficult. We are just out of range of the many good dams up north.

Please be aware that you will have to provide your own portable toilet I still need to confirm the specs.

Hi Hennie The Addo National Park management has closed the dam to the general public on 9 January 2023. I believe you must now be a group of 10 and more people doing a fishing competition but you still need to apply for a permit and acknowledge that you will provide your own toilet. So it is practically closed but you can contact that Addo National Park for more information and also view the closure notice on their website. We hope and pray that this fantastic fishing venue will be reopened.

Yes, the dam got more than 50% water with the last cut off low. We caught nice carp but it can be a bite of a difficult dam.

@karooproangling7543 I can imagine. We cought barbel and carp (but mostly barbel) when we were there but as Gautengers we were also there to explore the region so fishing was really only when we werent feeling like driving everywhere. Great channel I binge-watched a bit last night and had all these memories come back quickly

This dam holds a lot of fish but a lots of small yellow and muddies. We prefer to catch more carp bu a nice venue nevertheless. Do yourself a favour and try the nature reserve not far from there, you will definitely enjoy.

Hi Michelle was fishing at 60 to 80 meters and Jacques and myself at 80 to 100. In general we did better on the longer casts but on Sunday with a nice air pressure drop Michelle caught a few big ones closer.

Hi Barry I wish I knew but you can try Addo National Park as they have closed the dam and will also be issuing permits if applicable. We have tried our best but just got told that the dam is closed. Please let me know if you succeeded.
