Wondering about CG2730 backlight quality. Is it smooth on pure white backgrounds? No any grayish patches? I have been disappointed by grayish patches on some professional monitors, that manufacturers still claim to be "within specifications" and do not replace under warranty. Also, how does its brightness react to viewing angles? I have seen some kind of grayish haze or "wandering shadow" effect on many IPS panels, as seen in the videos below (pay attention to how the right-side display sharply changes its brightness when the camera shifts vertically): ruclips.net/video/meA9N0jqnHA/видео.html ruclips.net/video/C_kQpFOLhno/видео.html For a person with normal vision, this sharp brightness shifting is generally not an issue. However, I am a visually handicapped programmer & web designer and have to use a monitor at a closer-than-normal distance (usually about 25cm), that's why I am sensitive to and get distracted by different shadows, irregularities, and other backlight uniformity issues that affect my work process. Lately, I've been a bit desperate looking for a monitor that would fit my vision as well as my old (now dying) Viewsonic VP2365WB did. All new IPS LED displays I tried (even professional series from other manufacturers) seem to suffer from backlight quality issues. Not sure if it means that it's impossible to achieve CCFL lamp quality with LED backlight or something else. Anyhow, it's ridiculous that even a 1000 EUR display with great colors fails to match my 10 years old 300 EUR VP2365WB in terms of backlight uniformity and white color quality. I hope, EIZO has done it right in their CG models, and white backgrounds look silky smooth? Unfortunately, for me, there is nowhere in my country to try and see a CG display in person before I decide to buy it. Additionally, currently, I'm somewhat stuck with my new expensive monitor. The only stores I found EIZO in, could deliver it no sooner than mid-January and I had to buy a monitor sooner, so I picked the most expensive Dell I could find in the closest store. That was my mistake, I guess, but I really had no choice, I had a project to deliver and could not live a day without a monitor. Now I have just 12 days left to return the Dell monitor if I chose so, but I have no means to get an EIZO monitor in this short time, especially considering the COVID situation. So, if a miracle doesn't happen, I'm stuck with my not-that-great Dell monitor for many years to come... Hopefully, microLEDs will become mainstream by then and we won't have any backlight issues because microLEDs don't need any backlight.
