The Last Day of My 30 Day CSM Adventure

Today I am making a set up bonnet for my 64 needle cylinder. This bonnet will be long enough to attach the weight to the buckle right at the beginning of the project. This is the last of my 30 day (nonconsecutive) Adventure with my CSM. #csm #circularsockmachine #30dayadventurewithcsm
Winder from Joyce Knits & Sews

Today I am demonstrating my new cone winder from Joyce Knits & Sews. This 3D printer winder makes nice smooth and even cones that are working like a charm with my sock machine. Having these cones has eliminated one of the problems that I had making socks, which was having the yarn get hung up on the ball causing the gauge to change or jamming the machine. Adventures with the Circular Sock Machine Day 4
Do you have a video how you finished the top edge hem
Loved This! I am new to this and every time I start a heel, I lose stitches. I do have the heel spring engaged and heel and regular weights. My tension seems good. I am out of ideas...any thoughts?
Thank you kindly for the tutorial. It was extremely helpful. When you completed the heel did you remove the heel spring to knit the foot?
Love how you used the pick tool/crochet hook to get the ring on. 😊
Bu makinenin fiyatı ne kadar ve nereden alabilirim cevaplarsanız sevinirim çok ihtiyacım var neolur kolay gelsin

How much does this machine cost?
They vary, but the antique machines on eBay start at around 1700-1800. New machines are higher than the antiques.
sorry to say something negative, but there is a very distracting noise in the background...dog crunching on a bone? I was having trouble concentrating on the content, which i was enjoying
Thanks for letting me know about that. The mic really did pick up the dog chewing! I will watch out for that in future videos, and see if I can remove it from this video.
What is that machine called. ?
It is a Circular sock machine. Mine is a Legare 47 and is an antique. There are also new machines still being produced.
Thank you for teaching me how to knit a heel and toe on socks. I have been watching lots o f videos and I came across your channel. Easy heel. It took me about 6 tries but I finally got a sample heel. Didn't want to use good yarn. Thank you so much. I am a very newbie. I have a 3D printed sock knitting machine. Do you know what this heel method is called? I haven't seen anyone else knitting heels or toes like this. Thank you agian.
Can you list where you get the fishing line from?
You can get it at outdoor stores or on Amazon. I got a giant size which will probably last me forever. You can use the ripcord over and over again!
That was a great demo! Whoever invented that mechanical knitter was a genius! What boggles my mind even more is that you learned to use it! I'd be a jibbering remnant. If you weren't demonstrating the sock would be done in no time. I'm still learning how to hand knit a sock. If ever I get it right I dont think I'd have the heart (or mind 😅) to try learning the mechanical knitter. Sure enjoyed your demo, though. And thank you for sharing it with me. 😊
Green for go, I like that 😀
I enjoued watching that so much, it was like magic!
Thank you!
Thank you so much for showing our winder! We so appreciate it.
I am happy to share! It is always good to find a tool that solves a problem!
Congratulations on your journey to use your beautiful machine I have a original creelman money make from between 1893 and 1920s and went through the learning curve a few years ago.
It is a learning curve- but good for our brains!
I wish I could afford this machine!!! I make socks two at a time on circular needles. This just looks so cool for vanilla socks.
I have made quite a few hand socks, too. They were never my favorite thing to knit, but I love to wear them.
Hello, where can I buy a knitting machine like yours?
I stumbled upon mine at a yarn festival. You can find them sometimes on eBay but I would suggest going to Facebook and joining some of the CSM groups there. A lot of times you will find people that are trying to sell them there and at least if you buy it there, you can be pretty sure that it works and that all the parts that you need are with the machine.
There are also companies that sell brand new machines. The Erlbacher corporation is probably the largest company selling new machines. And even they make theirs one at a time.
Thank you, I have been searching for a few months on Ebay. Etsy, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist and various other social media links with no luck. Maybe soon!
I casually kept an eye out for years. When I saw this one I told my friend that I would love to have one. The woman that owned it heard me and said it was for sale. I was truly at the right place at the right time.
Fun to watch you making friends with your ribber! One thing you might consider trying to load each ribber needle with the running thread. You could either place the empty ribber on the machine and add each needle by snagging the running yarn (which is what I do) or you could load the needles as you did onto the ribber dial, then place it on the machine and then lift the running yarn onto the ribber needle. Anyway, you're getting it! I hope you keep doing videos.
Great tip! I will definitely try both of those things. I just feel like there are "things" that I am missing. I learned hand knitting so long ago, and am so confident with it, that I rarely get the feeling that I just don't get it. With the CSM, I am constantly humbled! Have you been to a crank in, and did you find it helpful?
Crank-ins are fantastic! I'm lucky to have a fair number of them near where I live in Minneapolis. I also went to "sock school" for the basics. I think Jenny Deters may still host them. She lives in Indiana. Good luck!@@WiseOwlKnitsCSM
Is this machine just for socks? Never saw one. Intriguing. I’d like to see more. Thank you for the demo.
It is primarily for socks but you can make other small items. Watch out- it is easy to get hooked on these sock machines. Mine is over 100 years old. There are new machines too, but the basically work the same way.
So, So beautiful! Your skills and artistry with this incredible machine are fabulous!
Thank you, but I really am just a beginner. It does feel good to be able to make a sock in an hour.
Once again your calm, reassuring tone gives me some confidence - I’ll try this trick on my next pair!!! Thank you!!!
