Creston Lea kicks off #FJFest with a tour of the Creston Electric Instruments shop, taking time to show off his stash of wood - including some thought-provoking reclaimed spruce - as well as one of the more efficient spray booths you’re likely to see. Other highlights include a look at more than a couple novel finishes, an appearance by the Sarah Ryan-painted drill press you might recall from the Issue 21 feature on Creston and Paul Languedoc, a peek into the shop next door (now home to Circle Strings, the Iris Guitar Company and Fairba...

What a great tone!
Delicious tone! Wish I had one
No tone knob? What is missing?
This bass sounds incredible.
What the fuck was this video? Still no wiser about the actual guitar, but at least I got a closeup of the guy’s horrible sneakers at the start…
Very nice. Wish we could actually see the guitar being played.
What are those pickups? Sounds like a P pickup
They are both original Precision pickups. They were originally single coil before the more iconic split-coil design that came about in the late 50s. Of course the original model only had one, whereas this one added the same pickup in the bridge position, which is pretty neat.
Beautiful. What specific Lollar pickups were used here?
COOL! Love that MM 700W ...such pure sound.
How are there only two controls?
My guess is that it's either master volume and tone , or vol/vol with no tone.
so groovy! I gotta make a baritone some day.
Thank you so much for making this bass guitar a reality
Nice.
Would have been nice to know which pick up you were on during the demo.
Probably the neck
Would love to see and hear more of such great Basses!
Finally a bass player! Thank U Pat Melvin!
Sounds great, but that looks really rough. We need more of a demo.
Sure do sound pretty
Beautiful sound! Nice demo- I’m curious, did you had to create a custom bridge pickup? Bobbin size/ magnet spacing, winding turns direction?
The bridge pickup would have to be reverse wound/reverse polarity to make it hum cancelling when both are used. Same as a Jazz Bass setup.
What a gorgeous ol' gal. Sounds great.
Gorgeous sounds and a gorgeous guitar.
Hey there, just wondering what bass cab did you use for recording? Sounds great ! thanks
Mmm...
Wow what a fat tone very articulate
Great sound. 🇧🇷
Amazing! 🇧🇷
What is the control set up? Vol/Vol? Vol/Blend? No tone?
Not enough demos out there of lollar jazz pickups.
They're p bass singles, not jazz.. Salute
Kosta Stevanoski I know I’m complaining about the lack of them. There are more of the split coils.
Sweet sounds!
Almost instant Frisell.
love this.
beautiful.
Would love to hear you run a wide variety of basses and pedals into that head.
Very nice, would love to see / hear more. Just checked out your site, the basses are beautiful! If you were closer to the UK I'd put in an order for sure.
