It looks like you had intended to make more videos in Guatemala, but ended with this one. Curious what happened. Did you feel you had exhausted your interest in Guatemala? Too turned off by the western invasion? You were clearly uncomfortable with that, and I know I would feel the same way,, though also a bit conflicted, due to appreciating the availability of good vegan food. Uncomfortable situation. Western expat / touristic gentrification seems to be reaching an intense level in many parts of the world now, as far as I'm hearing. (I haven't traveled in a very long time, but gearing up to do so soon). I hope you didn't experience any. personal mishaps.

You become a product of where you live so there’s no need to be ashamed you can experience you real culture anytime of your life and it’s a win win because you’re from both cultures and you have your parents to thank for that I was born and raised in England and now I live in America and my parents where both from Gujarat state India my father immigrated to England in the early 50s my mother came almost 5 years laters it’s a story of great strength and courage especially when you figure out where they exactly came from in India I visited India and met my grandmother who passed away in later years by the way you look beautiful and I’m sure your dad is very proud of you and so am I love always

Im a South African of South Indian descent. My ancestors came to South Africa in the 1800s as indentured labourers/slaves. We've also lost touch, to an extent, with our culture since most of us have become Christians. My children live in the UK. Thankfully i still have some family that are still practicing/living our culture. The tamil/ telegu language is not spoken much though...very sad. This vlog brings back so many happy memories. Thank you ❤❤

Wow that’s really sad that first world countries like the US or countries with similar material cultures have unintentionally tainted the native culture of Guatemala like you’ve pointed out. I’ve never been out of the US but I hope to one day. I agree with you even on the yoga issue. I’m not a Hindu but I know it had religious roots and meaning. It reminds me of that stereotype of French ppl hating Americans for putting ketchup on their French food. But maybe it’s the reason why we put ketchup on the food. We do it because we want the food (or culture) to cater to our tastes that we are used to and it shows we are sort of close minded. Well anyway I was hoping you would talk more about food cuz I hope to one day eat vegan in Guatemala.
