Thank you very much. I'm doing my first quilt entirely by hand. I don't have a sewing machine, and I could either afford all the stuff I needed to do a quilt by hand...or a machine by itself. That was a month ago, and I've done 40 blocks. LOL, So much for starting with a small quilt for a first one, this one should end up 40x64 inches. I had been noticing that sometimes I had a hard time drawing my thread through my stitches. You solved that for me with this video explaining the twist on the thread and which side to tie the knot on. Very, very helpful.

My grandmother used string with 3 knots at equal distance apart and a pencil in the last knot to draw the design.

Thank you for such a great video. I am in my 70's and just want to try hand quilting. I followed your instructions for the template and it came out great. I also practiced making the arcs on paper which have also been easy to do. Now I am going to make a quilted pillow case to see how I do with that. Thanks so much, you are a very talented person and teacher.

Looks like that last one wasn’t 1.5 but quite a bit higher. I think it may have reset itself when you moved the needle. Don’t be afraid to check and redo!

Can I just caution, especially new quilters, to not have your quilt top so close to the edge of the backing and batting when basting it down. In this video, she had plenty of room to have that top 2-3 inches away from the edges, but for some reason chose to put it closer. Just give yourself that extra room to allow for shifting when quilting.

This is hands down the BEST hand-stitched binding tutorial I’ve watched! I’m in the process of making my first quilt. It’s Marie of a throw, since I didn’t want to get in over my head, and I did a combination of hand ties and big stitches in all different colors, which look so neat on my beige backing. For the binding, I really wanted to see a contrasting thread on the back, but this is the only video that shows how to do this. Everything else shows you how to hide it, but if I’m doing that much work, I want to see those stitches! Not only did you show how to do it, you made it so easy to understand, and showed different options for the corners that I didn’t even know about! I’m definitely going to attempt the X 🤗 thank you so much for sharing, and I’m excited to be a new subscriber 😊

I made a quilt about 20 years ago. I wouldn't call it vintage. Some of the squares have come unsewed. It's the oddest thing. I had an idea of adding something over the damaged areas. A big star maybe. I think it would add more interest to the quilt. Your solutions are very helpful to the new quilters. Thank you.
