Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric - Any% in 38:56
Happy 10th Birthday Sonic Boom.
Doing my first runs on Halloween and hitting the big landmark of a sub 40 on the game's 10th anniversary is pretty cool I think. This run is still full of slop and I think it will take a long time before I get a run I'm really happy with but the consistency is setting in and I am still enjoying running it.

At long last, I have beaten SegaSonic the Hedgehog in under 11 minutes. This game was my first love in speedrunning. I managed the first sub 12 minute time 4 years ago which was considered pretty good but the optimisation and little strategies that now make up this super tight run require a lot more of your time and patience. I think this is only WR by skipping cutscenes. This is only the third time I've tried this specific type of puzzle game so I'm sure there is a lot more optimisation to be had but I am a pleb! and that marks the S2GG sweep. Through either breaking a previous tie or matching previous WRs, I now have the individual level sweep of Sonic 2 for the Game Gear, all within a month of first playing the game. Dang she wasn't lying, this mountain sure does have some gimmicks. This first stage is ROUGH as is illustrated pretty well by how tight the jumps are in the spike corridor. I still run this game! Needed a sanity break from doing regular attempts so I booted up Fast SADX. Takes out the monotony of Chaos 4 and maintains the quicker pace. Green Hill in another game? What joy! Act 1 ain't much to write home about. Act 2 however can definitely come down a second. I lose some air speed when going for my 'insane man jump' right at the start and some more ground speed lost when getting towards the last spring. Has a really nice flow to it once you get it down. Another world's first to be seen. Almost entirely convinced that Act 1 can drop to 16s but the crown of this zone is the 1:07 in Act 2. This stage is atrocious! Great job. I just beat the game too all on my own and I loved every second of it. Love how it makes you think. Curious if you got an S score in all the levels? I am also wondering about those boxes that show up sometimes in a level. Do you know if each level has a hidden box or just some of them? Also, what is the criteria for a perfect score? Is it a set number of steps you are not meant to exceed combined with connecting the exact number of walls? I love this game so much that I would like to go back and try to get an S in every level.

That jump around 7s is completely frame perfect, not to mention that the falling spikes eats your jump inputs which makes it even harder to get the jump. Congrats on getting World Record.

Thanks! I do remember having fond memories of 17-19. Having gone off the games for a while and trying FC24, as cool as the game looks, Ultimate Team is super saturated and Career Mode hasn't taken as much as it could from The Journey. A series of many missed opportunities but ah well. Looking forward to seeing what 2K games do with the FIFA licensing next year. Could be exciting
@@hibnotix in my opinion for a soccer game to be good it has to increase or at least maintain the quality from it's predecessors (witch FC 24 haven't), have offline tournament mode (witch Efootball haven't). Have offline carrer mode or master League (witch Efootball again haven't), don't be gliched ( i don't have to write How good The games have been in this topic), little to no... What they call? Handicap? I think it's that. And about the realism. I think the realism should resum to satisfactory number of licenses and all of the rules of soccer being in the game. Nothing of goalkepper being able to touch the ball with his hands out of the area or away goals still in the game. The realism in gameplay though. As long as the player is able to make theoricly easier goals easier i think the gameplay should be arcade, cause i think it's more fun. Just do that and you'll have a great game in your hands
