0:23 Today I just sorta stumbled upon this movie of my childhood again. To be precise, I watched a video of two guys reacting to it, then a few clips from the dub I used to watch back in the day for comparison (as I'm not used to the English original and wanted to see if it really is worse than the dub I remember). When I got to this moment, I felt a strange yet pleasant feeling. A childish joy. It felt nice to see these animal people be happy. Most importantly, it felt nice to see RJ introduce the little porcupines to video games. So wholesome. ☺ And him listening to music with Heather... and playing cards with others... Of course, this wouldn't have been nearly as great if it wasn't for Ben Folds's amazing performance as the singer. Love you, man!

imma just say it, as someone whos probably abit older than the other commenters, this movie is just okay. but the sound track is fucking golden. the movie aint bad but i wouldn't hold it in high reguard. its ashame the sound track couldn't be put to better use. ben folds never played this live and im assuming its bc its from a kids movie but god dammit its one of his best songs
I have really fond memories of this movie but yeah it's not the best, ABSOLUTELY agree though ben folds did a fucking fantastic job with the music I think he was a perfect choice
I personally think it’s one of dreamworks hidden gems but I do think it deserves to be held in a high spot simply over the fact that this movie just goes from start to finish. It does not over stay its welcome. If you were to ask me between shrek and over the hedge I’d pick over the hedge because it’s a lot more of an enjoyable film. Again it’s just my own personal opinion but shrek I always struggle to watch with at points getting lost and asking am I still watching the same movie. The soundtrack of over the hedge just kicks ass and rivals the sound track of Spirit and the road to el dorado
Yep, that sounds fair. Won't stop me from enjoying it so much, but I can acknowledge that it's just fine and not amazing.
