More Christmas music! Trying out a 4 string. Haven’t played one since I started playing bass :) Soloing the neck pickup with bass boost and some treble cut. Really thick p bass like tone. God bless!

Bass EQ here is set flat. Note that this bass tends to be in the brighter side so your mileage may vary.

I love your sound and playing dear "M7Bro"!!!
@@christophehayot7951 ah thank you M7 brother :)
its all preference honestly, dont let people tell you whats good or bad
woah dude those sound FANTASTIC im telling you
Thanks :)
toms this big you can only tell the diffference tuning them slightly higher, but i like my floor toms low and punchy just like this they both honestly sound great.. theres only a touch bit more warmth with that coated emperor im sure youd be able to tell through mics but through the camera mic you cant really tell
Totally with you there! I definitely want to try this again with mics (now that I've acquired some).

Hi dear colleague !!! I have the exact same model, this instrument is a pure sound factory. Would you please share your settings on this song?
@@christophehayot7951 I had the following eq settings: Tone: 100% Treble: 60% Mids: 55% boost to upper mids Bass: 60% Coil Splits: both in parallel I also favoured the bridge pickup very slightly. Hope that helps!

THANK YOU FOR THIS!!

Thanks nick, your Yamaha stage custom looks solid too! I actually wanted to go for that kit, but I couldn't find a good deal on one when I was looking to buy. How do you like it?
@@bktekno5267 It's definitely a step up in looks and sound from the Imperialstar however for a step up from that, I've been impressed with the Superstar Classic series if you're gonna go with Tama. Drum Center of Portsmouth has a really solid video comparing every Yamaha kit that's being currently produced and I was impressed by the Stage Customs in that video and I've been continually impressed by them in the studio and in live settings.
@@zznick660 Yeah, I could imagine! DCP has been a go to place for a lot of my drum watching, tons of great videos. I'm honestly not too brand biased, but The live oak custom has been something on my radar in the future. Also the Recording custom, DW performance, Ludwig vintage oak, Sonor kits with beech shells, and of course, tama starclassic kits. Of course, most of these kits would be way out of my price bracket for quite a while lol
@@bktekno5267 My next purchase is probably going to be a Sonor Vintage series in Red Oyster. Been a dream kit of mine ever since it came out but I'll probably go 24, 13, and 16 on it. My Yamahas are 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 22 and then I also have a Premier APK MicroBop 16 that's 10, 13, and 16.
@@zznick660 oh yes that vintage series is next level. That’s also a kit that would be a great own! Love a shallower kick, likely a 20-22 for me though :) Those kits you have sound amazing!
Can you give numbers? Or notes?? Great cover!!!
@@tyronemaliekmitchell7717 Sure! I’ll see if I can put together a doc of some sort. Thanks!
Nice!!
Love me some remo's
@@roncollymore1330 They’ve become my go to for sure! Some Aquarian heads have intrigued me but if these Remo heads are doing it for me, why change it!
@@bktekno5267 that alongside the diplomat m5 outside of the P77
@@roncollymore1330 Wow interesting choices! 2 very different heads. I'm guessing 2 different snares for 2 different types of gigs? The P77 is something I want to try (I like the sensitivity of a 1 ply, but I like the control a 2 ply offers). Maybe a vintage emperor? Not really sure.. too many options :)
Do Marcus it?)
It can kind of get there but it doesn't have the snap that Marcus Miller has with his sound.

Hi I'm kinda confused between VAD 507 vs TD27KV2 - since you tried in the store and i can't because of unavailability of stock. what would you suggest ?! Money is not an issue for me. Just don't want to get buyers remorse later.
@@bharatvarma7452 Hey! Good question. The only difference between the two really are the cymbal sizes and pad sizes for the toms and kick. They use the same module so you get the same sounds and shaping capabilities with both. If you want acoustic sizing, the VAD gives you that. There is something about playing a bigger kit that feels really nice in comparison to pads, but for me I would save the money and go for the td27kv2. If money isn’t an issue and you’re looking for something that emulates the look (and a little bit more of the the feel) of an acoustic kit, definitely consider the VAD. Depending on the sound you’re looking for, I would suggest using a VST with it, or checking out the edrumworkshop channel on sound editing for Roland, as i find their sounds to lean a bit more on the artificial side. Not to steer you away from Roland if that’s what you’re after, but also getting to play the Alesis Strata Prime, I was really impressed with the playing feel and especially the sounds. You get a good number of pads and they’re decently sized too. One of the few things I didn’t like was the cross stick playability (you have to play it slightly differently than an actual acoustic kit). But TLDR; go VAD if you really value the slightly more acoustic like package in size, and TD27kv2 if you don’t really care about that acoustic kit look and size. Sound and response are very similar on both kits. Hope this helps!
@@bktekno5267 Thanks a lot brother for taking time and giving me such clarity. You really helped me out :)!
My tip is to just tune them to your preferences. Just don’t break them. 😅
@@Eddie848 that’s fair :)
I prefer the coated Emperor with clear Ambassador as a resonant.
I'm still using my old clear G1 on the reso, but I'm digging this coated emperor head quite a bit.
@@bktekno5267the G1 is a good resonant head. 👍🏽🥁
@@bktekno5267been using the coated Emperor for a long time! Very reliable heads that last along time
@@DrummingBasics101 I’ve always leaned towards clear heads but after trying these, I see myself putting these on the whole kit in the future!

@@Unlocked985 yeah that’s the one downside of this instrument. Depending on your budget though there can be some half decent electronic kits to play on. I’m still worried one day the neighbors are going to start banging on my door because of the racket 😅

Glad you liked it! Also really thought it was an interesting sound!
Why is there to much resonance on the 1st & 2nd tom, probably might need to dampen it
