The Wisconsin Gun Season: 3 Big Bucks Down!
Well, it was one incredible opening weekend for the Hoheisel crew at our 2024 opening weekend deer camp. Words can't explain how fortunate I was this year, and it will be one I never forget. I'm also thankful my little brother Sammy, and my dad were also able to tag out on beautiful Wisconsin bucks on opening day. If you haven't yet, make sure you like and subscribe!

Wisconsin Bow Hunting: Opening Day Of Archery Deer Season

I have never been this excited for a Wisconsin archery season. We have a lot of great deer on the property this year, so I had a lot of anticipation for opening day. Unfortunately nobody in the group got to lay eyes on one of our target bucks, but it was great to be back in the tree stand again! Thanks for watching, and good luck to all of you this season! 🦌
Wisconsin Trout Fishing: Opening Weekend

The last few years I have become obsessed with fly fishing for trout, but the Wisconsin opener is a huge tradition in my family and it's the one time of year I put my fly fishing gear away and get back to how I grew up fishing for trout. I had a great morning on the stream, and I'm so excited to get back out after these fish. Make sure you like and subscribe!

    A year later & I’m here lol Great video, thank you! Hubby is a hunter too, brought home more deer meat than I know what to do with it. So I’m trying out new things. You think putting the veggies in from the beginning & slow cooking everything on low for 6-8 would be okay too?

      Yes absolutely! I just prefer to put them in the last hour or two so they keep some of their crisp too them. They get pretty soft if left in for the whole time, but that's a personal preference thing. Make sure to check out some of my other recipes on the channel! I hope to have more coming out soon!

    • @growingwildtv
      @growingwildtv Месяц назад

      @@rickwarner4102 When self filming a hunt, sometimes things happen faster than you can expect. I had several seconds to get the shot on my deer, so I took it before I was able to get the camera turned on and facing him. In order to show what happened, I used audio from a previous rifle hunt. That's the way it goes sometimes. I've shown dozens of "killshots" on film over the last several years of doing this and have no problem doing so. But sometimes the story is about a lot more than that.

      Everyone is at a different point in their hunting journey. We are in a great area and I hold myself to much higher standards while bowhunting. I held out and was able to kill a 5 year old 160" 12 pointer with my bow. My brother and my dad have both gone several years without a buck. Standards change through time, but for us. This was an opening day we will never forget. And for me personally it was my best year ever. A hammer of a 12 point with a bow, and a great mature 8 pointer with a gun.

    • @growingwildtv
      @growingwildtv 2 месяца назад

      I passed up many shots this year that I thought were too far at 50, 54, and 58 yards. I can hit a soda can at that distance but won't take that shot on a deer. It was a VERY tight window and I felt confident in the shot and where I was aiming. It's hard to believe a deer could duck that hard at 18 yards, but at the end of the day deer duck and things don't always go as planned. I backed out, paid money for a drone, and did everything I could to recover this deer. I butchered him that night and he will feed my family for months. You can talk about my ethics all you want, but you don't know me or how much I give back to these animals. I give my life to hunting. If you don't like RUclips hunters maybe you should quit watching.

      Keep in mind the camera was WAY off to my left and pointed right of how I was facing. The angle of the deer was much different for me than it was for the camera. But you are correct, I did get lucky. In the two inch window I had to shoot through the only thing I had to aim for was the seem behind his shoulder. Some how at 18 yards he was able to duck that hard.

    • @growingwildtv
      @growingwildtv 2 месяца назад

      @@mikefuss1486 you can't tell the true shot angle from the camera's point of view. And there is nothing wrong with a quartering too or quartering away shot. This shot did not go as planned, of course. But I was pretty open and honest about that.
