Women's Advocates
Добавлен 14 июл 2016
Women's Advocates was the first shelter for domestic violence victims in the United States. Today we work to break the cycle of violence through violence prevention education, crisis intervention and safety planning, emergency shelter for women and children fleeing violence, and sustained safety for former residents of our shelter through aftercare programming.
This project was supported by Grant No. A-CVS-2018-WOMADV-00013 awarded by the Office on Victims of Crime, Office of Justice Programs. The opinions, findings, and conclusions or recommendations expressed in this publication/program/exhibition are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Department of Justice.

THANYOU FOR ADVOCACY FOR DV CLASS
Let's connect
I lived through 2 LGBTQIA2S+ abusive relationships. One was 'isolating' the other was 'mentally abusive. The first relationship resulted in a full blown mental break down. the other was OCD on top of OCD and the person used a medical condition to escape prosecution and finally moved their heterosexual ex boyfriend in to help set up a situation where I was given no choice but to leave. I'm emotionally damaged for LIFE and I will NEVER trust ANYONE with my heart again. I live my life just wanting to feel a genuine 'cuddle' from someone who genuinely 'loves' me knowing that that can't happen because of the emotional damage caused to me! I am basically just waiting for life to fold in on me and it to become a second time for that bottle of pills to look really attractive again! The thing is... I 'really' loved the people who abused me and I didn't understand why they were being so nasty. One kept pressing my red button so badly that I grabbed her and threw her against a wall pleading with her to SHUT UP! But she didn't and she called the Police on me - When it was actually 'me' who should have called the Police on her! But when you are in love you are blind to these types of abuse!
Quiz - I'd take her to one side and ask her if she wanted to discuss it privately and if there were other issues going on?

Where can we get help if we don’t have money ?
I am being emotionally and physically abused. Feel worthless.
The Cycle of Abuse is outdated and does not reflect what women say about the violence. Abusers choose to use violence at any time, at times does not build up nor does a honeymoon happen. Dr. Lenore Walker based her research on wealthy women's experiences.
This was interesting and beneficial information.
Can I get a link to the sources in your power point to help me support a friend
That felt amazing. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for acknowledging this!

Crying watching this just because these women speaking get it. And they seem to genuinely care and understand.

Unfortunately you get help to leave but nothing protects you when your ex is a sociopath and continues to use the courts to abuse. Many family courts go on the side of the abuser if he has a lot of money encouraging the abuser to keep fighting in the courts abusing the former spouse so the court and all the so called professionals who all get more money. They use the children to hurt and control the spouse. Trauma and PTSD continue long after the court battles are over.
Can I press charges or get a retraining order?
What bothers me a lot is when people think and assume women stay in abusive relationships because they like the "make-up" sex. Having sex after abuse is just more abuse and sickening. Sex with someone who hurts you is appalling and disgusting. It is not fun or satisfying. Total confusion.
Exactly. I trafficked myself to keep him from taking it out on the kids and then cross country to get to family to leave. It’s abuse. and a
The link to the PowerPoint is missing the "1" at the very end. It should read www.wadvocates.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/WA-CORE_DV-101-1.pdf
Sorry but you talk way to fast and as a survivor its overwhelming 😢
The link to the PowerPoint slides doesn't seem to work.
😂 45 years? It's 52 years.
Thank you🙏💔😢this helps God can heal anything Trying to figure out how to expose him, need strength, started opening up more and more, thanks to people that know about it Even after he left causing more cost trauma, it’s it’s abusive itself the laws you are asked questions to relive it, feel I get more violated we need justice comfort peace not pity, and our losses back, not to worry about how to be dragged into more cost It affects your ability to do simple things, scary. Decision making is very difficult need direction people to trust to work on our behalf There is lots of mistrust A jumpy hyper person, is toxic, who doesn’t allow you time to process answer There is triggers to battle already All four of them come All the common reactions, excessive talking from suppression isn’t there Vulnerability fear of exploitation or fear of you maybe talking to a faker not good person
Thank you for this presentation . It is such important topic and thank you for all the supporting information. So beautifully presented and easy to understand. Heartfelt
Narcassist as a husband. I’ve been put down so low. Looking to heal and move on.
Thank you for this webinar. It's helping me a lot in my healing journey. Take care 💕
Good info, extremely boring presentation
My sleep have been disturbed for almost 40 years
You would consider me bi, but I don't think it makes sense for all people. I have never met anyone that was the same gender as me, so doesn't make sense in my life. Hence I am pansexual, I am attracted to people regardless of gender. That actually reflects my life experience and I don't fall under bi. Some people consider pan to be under the bi umbrella, but I am a pansexual who is not bisexual.
😢
Online research = MEN suffer Coercive Control as OFTEN as Women and Children.
Dr. Campbell, You, Dr. MoBeen, the physicians who participate in the International COVID Summit & a few trusted others are a Godsend! It perplexes me as to how many Americans still do NOT know who Dr. Robert Malone & the FLCCC is...nor do they understand the risks of the mRNA vaccines, and the benefits of IVM and Vitamin D/K2 in the prevention & treatment of COVID-19, etc. They naively believe the narrative they've been fed since the get-go & look down upon those who don't accept it as truth. It's maddening! Offering to share the scientific data (research papers) with them does little good because most people don't have a background in science or medicine & don't have the humility to admit what they don't know, or the time/interest/focus to sit & listen to your videos, medical lectures & podcasts, etc. The censorship by big tech & lies/misinformation perpetuated by the pharmaceutical industry, govt & main stream ("legacy") media is anti-Constitutional & a stain on our nation. There is no integrity in that. It is ethically wrong to deny people of important information that could help them make lifesaving healthcare decisions for themselves & their loved ones. I am deeply disturbed by all of this, especially considering the long term effects of covid-19 and the mRNA vaccines & all the innocent people who suffered and/or died when they didn't have to. I have become so disenchanted by all of this that it's like Im a completely different person. I am a teacher. I think it was Maya Angelou who said, "If you know, teach." I feel responsible for sharing what I have learned to help people but don't know how to do that. The lies run so deep. Even people in healthcare STILL believe that IVM doesn't work & that the covid vaccines are safe & effective. I thank God for you, Dr. Campbell. Thank you for existing & for all of your helpful content! Peace be with you all. Let's hope & pray that the truth will stand on its own 2 feet.
I love this poem. As a survivor this is the best healing and revenge to leave the broken pieces with the abusers and renew our lives but we need wach other to make a difference
what's done is done. Just leave me alone. and NO IM NOT TELLING MY STORY. the damage is done. Im healing.
first time in 20 yrs I was not STALKED BY MY CITY. Some are still, but for the most part. something behind the scene happened, because they was stalking me as if I was a celebrity. I AM NOT, I AM HOMELESS living in and out of different places., this shit is tiring and I HATE IT. NOW, that whoever is helping me behind the scenes, they are mad as hell, ATTACKING ME VERBALLY ON THE BUS this morning. I can tell it was in retaliation, totally uncalled for the attack was so trivial. It must STOP. It must STOP, IT must STOP. I am not a celebrity, I am homeless, I am not making 1 penny for all this unwanted attention. JUST STOP. JUST STOP. when you see a crowd of people following one person, they are being stalked celebrity or not. DONT FOLLOW ME like that. It's gross and childish.
Most what your saying is TRUE but WHAT IS THE SOLUTIONS. I've been homeless more than 20 yrs and yet, here I am asking for HELP AGAIN. I need a safe place that I can afford, where my OPPRESSORS CANT FIND ME TO SEXUALLY ABUSE and MANIPULATE me and the systems that are put in place to protect ME/US. SEND MORE HELP. I have a RUclips channel and he/they/pedos/predictors are financially oppressing me so that I cant be self sufficient and have to be exploited online and off. I don't want to tell my story, I just want the order of protection to be active and get these people out of my face. I don't trust anyone, so many people are watching me get financially abused, sexually abused, emotionally abuse, and verbally abused. I AM A TARGET now that I am blowing the whistle. Send HELP. Order of Protection is NOT PROTECTING ME. HELP.
I suffered this injury from my husband so what would my term be
Sorry to hear that
Angela domestic violence survivor
no offense, but I am NOT being protected from abusive authority and other religious groups traumatizing me to join them in their mission. My final answer is still "NO". I dont want to be part of any of this bs. Please stop sending invites. Yes, I am a victim and still being victimized by all of you. I am not telling my story and I want all of you to STOP pestering me for it.
What are thoughts on litigation abuse and family court? A lot of protective parents are losing children to the abuser
Excellent presentation.
