The Apollo "changed" my recording game, and the included plugins have made my life 10x easier. However, it's really easy to get sucked into the plugin game because of the Apollo.

Crazy outdated tech in there. Sonically far inferiour than most budget interfaces nowadays

When you have saved pre-sets, or re-open a session make sure to move at least one parameter on each device, each time you use the on board DSP. "to kind of reset the device" programing FPGA chips is very difficult, with supreme analog feel and sound, the drawback is sometimes bugs with the programing. If you just move a parameter a little and then back, it will reset the device, in case it doesn't sound right for some reason. If you open the plug-in fresh from blank canvas, you usually wont have a problem. Only when re-loading or using a previous session saved to your mixer. Cheers, love Antelope products, they are the underdog's and while not perfect, I truly believe in the sound. Amazing value.

It’s not a straight forward answer, depends on your audio interface and DAW. If you’re just adding outboard gear to your vocal chain you don’t have to do anything in your DAW.

USB connection works with all computers thunderbolt is more geared towards newer Apple computers from my understanding. Your PC might have thunderbolt connection.
Thunderbolt will increase your bandwidth while recording high bitrate and sample rates. However, not all PC have thunderbolt, you should check. I have USB Zen Go, thunder Zen Q, and an older Discrete 4 SC that has both USB and Thunderbolt, they all work with my PC and Mac Silicon M series. Running M1-Ventura and Windows 11.
Nice video. Not particularly hard hitting, but great energy and survey. FYI - Caveat emptor: with this model, Thunderbolt may be required to use the “AFX2DAW (BRIDGE PLUGIN)” which enables the unit to be used as a(n offboard real-time) plug-in to DAWs. So if you would like to use the unit as a (hardware!) plugin for your desktop (et al.) DAW, thunderbolt throughput may be required.
Great studio! I can recommend the herman miller chairs - they're pricey but well worth it. I got a Herman Miller Mirra refurbished for £350 and it's the best desk chair i've ever owned. Super ergonomic and adjustable and looks great too.
