Itachi’s character truly breaks my heart. He was a selfless hero in disguise of a villain and a traitor.. I can’t even begin to imagine how much he had to shoulder, especially because he believed he could do it all by himself, he believed that he was alone. The peer pressure of the higher up’s entrusting such a horrendous mission to you is way too much to take for a 13 year old. His character hated wars ever since he witnessed the third great ninja war when he was only 4 years old, and his only choices were to prevent a war or let it happen. It was inevitable, he was so misunderstood and he chose to be misunderstood which makes me depressed jk. Not to mention the only person he had left was Sasuke and he hated him to the core. Imagine slaughtering your own kin to prevent a war from happening, being seen a criminal from the village you protected in the shadows, being despised by the only person you had left. Instead of love, he took hatred instead. Itachi shouldered so many burdens ever since he was a kid 🥲 god his character is so well-written i can’t even
