Yes, I have failed. The usual fail condition is the enemy team focusing Merrin early and ignoring the other Nightsisters. You can try to account for this by giving Merrin very high tenacity and protection (and very low health/CC/CD), but you can't always prevent it. @Xaereth just put out a video on this counter that you may find helpful: ruclips.net/video/DylYoH65gZA/видео.html

Update: Failed in tonight's match with the NS counter thanks to an absolutely stupid play. Needed a basic and hit a special. Video should go up tomorrow.

Thank you! BitDynasty does a phenomenal job of explaining the mechanics and teaching us all how to approach these counters. He's the genius here; I'm just adding examples. The counter plays so differently based on P1 stars, so it really helps to have a variety of videos to figure out a dynamic priority system.
