Have you used an Oztent ?
What size are the rubber feet?5.7 mm?
I have a snomaster classic 58l. I like it but it draws 60w
Just purchased one of these from Costco 35 pound all in well chuffed
I'm an OzTent RV5 fan; they have two large distinct rooms, one for sleeping and one for cooking and there's plenty of seating room for two large deck chairs. They handle heavy rain and strong winds and provide fantastic sun protection. I surf in South Australia in some extreme weather, and I feel very safe and comfortable in it.
I purchased my Black Widow Tradesman drawers in 2011…they’re amazing quality and immensely strong! Shame Black Widow went bust as they weren’t able to compete with the cheap Asian imports. Great products though… everything in my Patrol is Black Widow.
Thanks for the review, very helpful. You have a fishing bivvy and bedchair... I mean, you may as well get some rods out!
I hope i do one with fully slide from my land cruiser 80 series Would be easier for quick dinner preparation
It’s me.
Nice one mate 👍 OUT
Nice one mate love a video setting it up and putting it away 👍 OUT
Looks a great option , shame it wasn’t a sewn in ground sheet , bit to susceptible to creepy crawleys lol I’ve have had some nasty bites over the years
Hi There, the XF2 standard DOES have a built in ground sheet but I think the XF 1 has a romovable one. I agree, the built in ground sheet helps you sleep little batter! LOL!
@@andyisherwood1027 oh that’s helpful thanks I saw a vid on putting it up looked like a separate one maybe that was a mk1 . This might be just what I need . Thanks 👍
Hey Andy glad to find your channel. Wanted to ask you if your knife shop will opening up again? Would love to buy another gorgeous blade!
SnoMaster sucks now. Just received my second defective unit and am now fighting for a refund after waiting a month for my product. The quality control is horrendous for spending over $2000cdn. Also, these fridges are made in China. The compressor seemed okay, but the rest of the fridge is garbage. They also ship in the most cost-effective boxes known to man. DO NOT BUY SNOMASTER! I'm out $2000 and have a piece of junk in my basement now. I went and bought a dometic 75L, and it seems okay, but I wish SnoMaster was what it once was. UPDATE!!!! It seems that Snomaster deletes any and all negative reviews from their platforms! Very deceiving as I did weeks of research and based my purchase on their ratings. I left a review of my experiences, and they deleted them within the hour and also blocked me! Extremely dishonest company!
Great review. It’s awesome when you suddenly find the EXACT RUclips video you’ve been searching for. Great detail mate. I want one. Do you feel it’s best just to order direct from RM?
Oi Wobbly sausage
Brilliant 👍I’ve subscribed
what is the big bin with molle attachments
Wobbly sausage
Yeah these dpos kitchens are great kit, we've used ours extensively coming up on 10 years now, sits on the back of Suzuki Grand Vitara + freestanding as well 👌👌
Cracking set up mate and a good choice of kitchen
Cheers Shove. Catch up soon buddy...
Hello Andy, you got the brilliant make Drifta but how long did take a get here Andy.
Hi Martin, It only took 2 weeks as it came from Europe. Let me know if you want one as this one may be for sale!!
The drifta bag is rubbish save your money or go down to you local canvas guy and have it made. I have a drifta bag and it failed after I got it out of the box. It only has single stitching ant the webbing handle aren’t sown in to support the weight of the bag and tent, hence it ripped immediately.
Hi! Nice review, maybe I missed some detail shoots of some parts as joints, floor, etc, but fine anyway. I’m thinking on purchase the OZTent rv5 for overlanding but after watch your video and some research I’m not sure now. This ridge monkey looks fantastic and seems to improve every little detail from the OZTent. But, I have a couple of concerns that I would appreciate your feedback: 1. I have seen a video and some comments complaining hardly about crazy condensation. It’s strange looking at the the used fabric but. Some condensation is normal in some situations but this one was insane, absolutely unacceptable. One guy wrote also about leaks under rain through the seems. 2. What about the floor? Is it open at the entrance? And if so, have you fixed it? Did you sew the fabric? I need a quality tent for overlanding with my wife and little son, so the last I want is having problems if this type. Thanks a lot!
What a bell
Don't know how far along with your kitchen build but have a look at the Clearview Pantry/Kitchen. It's a fold out all enclosed kitchen that would fit o a slide, perfect for a wagon.
top video as always mate keep up the good work
Just a couple of points... I've bought one of these for my own overland setup (XF1 not 2) as I wanted a space where I could get changed or an extra space for an additional person to sleep (I have an Alucab RTT). It can also be a space for socializing should it be raining or a sheltered place to cook, again if the rain is coming down, however... I'm not so sure about your shower idea and here is why... You really don't want the entry point to your tent sodden from water as it will end up inside the tent itself? Don't forget, the floor in these tents are not sown it but rather velcroed which is not water tight. Additionally, have you seen what soap does to a clean slippery glass door in a shower at home? Can you imaging what tough soap marks from showering against the outside surface of your tent would look like in no time at all? Lastly, its all a bit of a faff... You could have a pop up shower tent next to the main tent, have a shower, then in to the main tent without anyone taking any notice. Pop up shower tents are so inexpensive that you could throw away after a season and get a new one for the next. If you are going shower in that area then at least make sure the water is irrigated away using a cheap and cheerful paddling pool to stand in and a pipe from the pool drain leading away from the tent, that way the entry area will remain reasonably dry... Really enjoy the content, great to see someone else using a Ridgemonkey for over-landing and totally agree that these tents make more sense than a OzTent... Keep up the great work!!!
Hi Green Isle "(are you in Ireland by any chance?)..... Glad you are in the XF 2 club! To answer your points... The shower area is off to the side of the entry but more importantly, I can guarantee you from doing the same thing inside my old military 9x9 tent that the water always drains away super fast in any environment wether its a clay soil grass field or woodland. Once in Wales 3 people had 3 seperate showers within and hour and it was in wet conditions - the water just drains away every time. Your XF1 does indeed have a velcro attachment for the ground sheet. The XF2 Standard is sewn in. Even though, I'm pretty sure the velcro is on the inside of the tent on yours so should be a problem with shower water run-off? Soap scum build up has never been an issue in the many years I have been doing this. It's the tooth paste that tends to be sticky! Pop up shower cubicles and tents are not my cup of tea (don't get me going on this topic!! lol). They always end up in land fill! Glad you enjoy the content. See you on the next one!! Andy
@@mud-kit6662 I am indeed in Ireland, I'm a Geordie that's been living over here just over ten years now...

Where did you get the gull wings?
Another great video mate!! Great comparison with the options available here in the UK!
Glad you enjoyed it
hi, both look good, not to keen on the exposed runner bearings on the black widow, sounded bit ruff, lots of things have solid plastic handles thies days id go for that one if i needed one,
Hi Daz! I think they do one for a defender - worth a look.....
@@andyisherwood1027 i like me foot room and need the space under the bench for the tarp ect, good kit just not for me,, i carry what i need wen i need it rather than every thing all the time just incase,

Good review. Been looking at these for a few months now to replace my RV5. I'll probably get the extra bit for the front to use for sitting and cooking in when the weather isn't great
The porch is a great piece of kit well designed. However it takes a while to set up. But worth it apparently
Nice mate great review as always defo on my list but out my price range at the min haha got to love the ridge monkey gear they just do it right Keep up the top work
