J.S. Bach Lute Suite No. 2 in C Minor, BWV 997: I. Prélude (transposed to Am) note: the amp used here is a fender princeton reverb reissue, not the yamaha on the side in the video. sorry for any confusion

Why are people talking loudly over this masterpiece of a set?
im glad you enjoyed the set, this venue is basically a pub :)
I just love how one tune can have so many different chord melody arrangments for them, personally I like the John Knowles version of it the most for the deep warm harmony it has from the use of lots of low E. This is truly a beautiful and underrated piece.
cheers, yeah i agree- i love to hear various interpretations of a tune. john knowles is a wonderful musician, i love his piece written for Lenny Breau called 'Waltz Forever' and also his arrangement of Vincent
You're one of those guys who has "The tone in his fingers" as a teacher of mine says. To get to be like that where you can play nicely even though you don't understand is truly an indicator that you're on the path to mastery.
Thank you Aadi :)
Incredible!
thank you :)
Real nice set ! My gf and i listened to this while eating a nice Sunday brunch and talking about music and life. The sound of your tele even reaches France ;) What did you use to film it ?
cheers, im very glad you enjoyed it. this was filmed on a iphone 15 pro max
@@RayGarnerGSU Ah, right. I have an old iphone, i guess that's why my videos aren't as nice hehe. See ya man !
beautiful to listen to loved it all of course yes its nana x❤
Brilliant set. I’m always amazed by the myriad of tones you get out of that tele.
thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed it
Ray: Very nice. :) The "Pavane For a Dead Princess" and "Girl With the Flaxen Hair" are my favourites. Excellent and thoughtful playing, as always. :). Considering all that is happening in England and how much damage Keir Starmer has caused in so short a time period, it is impressive and encouraging that you STILL "Participate In Life". :) Good for you. Do not quit and.....do not "give up". :) Antoine
thanks Antoine I'm glad you liked it, can't go wrong with Ravel and Debussy :)
First
Hello
Truly beautiful, if short
Thank you Bob
Probably my favorite tele player under 30
Thank you very much
Exquisite playing and what a great jazz tone from that tele and princeton. Well done!
Cheers, im glad you like it :)
As usual, smooth and mellow! Do you enjoy acoustic guitar as well?
Thanks Georges :) Yes I love listening to acoustic guitar, 'Last May' by Allan Holdsworth comes to mind as one of my favourite recordings of a steel string acoustic. I also love All in Twilight by Takemitsu written for the classical guitar. I almost never play acoustic myself though, for some reason i just feel more at home on solid body electrics and i can imagine its hard to switch between electric and acoustic regularly
@@RayGarnerGSU cool, new guitar pieces i didn't know! I'll throw an ear to both. About switching from acoustic to electric, Julian Lage does it marvellously ! The feeling is great cause the acoustic is solely your body + the wood, very pure. No electronics in the way 👍🏼
I’m completely digging this. Lovely tone
thank you :)
Very nice, Ray
Cheers Greg
great I like your playing and your sounds
thank you, im glad you like it :)
The sound of summer chill.
cheers Nigel :)
CLASS!!!!!
thank you, im glad you like it :)
That's nice! Do you have sheet music for this version?
thank you, I believe i used this sheet music along with listening to Julian Bream's recording classical-guitar-school.com/music/1062.pdf
@@RayGarnerGSU Thanks!
Beautiful
Thank you
👌🏻
:)
You've a very original way to create music! Congrats! Did you play it with a Princeton 65 ri?
thank you very much, yep princeton reverb 65 reissue
Nice playing and excellent teaching skills! 👍🤸♂️
Thank you :)
Great Ray! Thank you for playing at my concert! 🙂
Cheers Chris, my pleasure. Thank you for having me :)
ted greene vibe. How did you learned to play chord melody and lead voices that well?
thank you. not much method to be honest, mostly just tons of noodling and trial and error
Great info in the video, but trim ur nails brah
Superb Ray ! Just Gorgeous - Best Wishes - John
Thanks so much John, im very glad you enjoyed it
So natural and unpretentious. What a gift. Thanks😊
Cheers, im glad you like it
Man, where did you get that couch blanket?
Hmm, had it for ages so cant remember at this point...
Always excited to see you post!
Cheers Seth :)
Thank you. And again, great job. Please tell me, what is your guitar model, professional or maybe avri?
Thanks, its an american professional 1 from about 2019
Incredible, excellent work and criminally underviewed for the craftsmanship that has gone into playing it
Thanks very much, im glad you like it
All the piece is real sweet, the final bit from 0:50 is a particular gem tho ! I don't have your mellow Princeton sound yet, but i'm acquiring a Supro delta king in the next week, so that's a first step. Cheers
Thanks Georges, im glad you like it. Nice one, have fun, cheers
You never cease to amaze me beautiful love you nana x❤
Nice one!
Thanks :)
Cool. That bowl looks precariously perched, couldn't stop looking at it, lol!
lol i never noticed that :)
great
thank you Iris
What amp do you use?
Looks like either a Fender Princeton Reverb or the Yamaha THR 10.
fender princeton reverb reissue
This was absolutely awesome, there was some very challenging stuff in there too
thanks, im glad you enjoyed it
I found you on a mix!
Is g&l teles (tribute series) are good teles on your opinion? Thanks for videos!
Or it’s better to buy Player series of Fender?
Hmm to be honest i have no idea since ive never tried a g&l tribute tele. If possible you really should go to a shop and try a few and compare to see what suits you best. Cheers
Amazing
cheers :)
Hats off: thank you!
Cheers, you're very welcome :)
Wow, nicely done! I heard elements of Ted Greene/Tim Lerch and a little bit of Lenny Breau.
Thanks :)
more bach works please
if i can find the time :)
Superb Ray ! You made this piece come alive. Wishing you the Best - John
Cheers John, I'm glad you enjoyed it. The same goes to you too
We want the whole partita! Excellent job
Maybe some day, cheers :)
Thank You!
