Creating a bell siphon on an IBC tank biodigester
Просмотров 190Год назад
Biodigesters function best when they are completely filled with liquid without a head space at the top. However, it is sometimes necessary to remove some liquid to open it up for removing a scum layer. If a biodigester needs to be moved, creating a bell siphon is also effective for emptying the biodigester to the level of the opening of the overflow tube in the tank before opening the bottom va...

World Toilet Day, Nov. 19
Просмотров 158Год назад
World wide, more people have access to a smart phone than safe sanitation. In a recent article by Forbes, World Toilet Day is November 19th, Why You Should Care, they outline the health and safety risk factors to communities that have failing septic systems and/or where open defecation is still practiced. Thankfully, small scale biogas is a safe and accessible solution to the health problems ca...
Small Scale Biogas for growing food in hotter and drier land.

There are only a few situations that I can think of in which hydroponics are appropriate, if done holistically, but soil restoration with small scale biogas is far better because we are accessing the tightest closed loop of recycling. Restoring soil instead of using plastic and electricity just makes sense. Join me at biogaseducation.com to journey through the process of discovering the Small S...

Installing a biogas lamp is a wonderful solution for the problem of having more gas than you can use day to day.
Food to fuel powered by our 1HP InSinkerator - Evolution

We had tried several different models of garbage disposal units including the 1/3 HP badger with mixed results. The low-vibration 1HP InSinkerator - Evolution solved a lot of the problems we were having including the intensity of vibration that shook the pipes so badly that the glue could come undone.
Making a scrubber for your biogas system

3 great ways to use 10 cubic meter digesters
can you feed Gras cuttings .and can you have a valve that you can fill gas bottles?
Good explanation keep up
Thanks for this great explanation, allow me ask two things 1. Does the overflow pipe have to reach right at the bottom of the tank? 2. What is the height of the hole on the overflow from the bottom of the tank? Regards
Yes❤
Please do not use alcohol as a lubricant for rubber seals.
If you work with something that turns, don’t use any gloves, because it is very dangerous. It’s ravels up on the turning item with your hands inside!
Thanks for your explanation. How much methane gas do you produce with that size BD container? In cooking time would it be about one hour a day? Thanks again! Antonio from Argentina
The best educational demonstration on constructing a biodigester I've found! This is fabulous! Thank you for your time and effort!
Thank you - great explanation! And I like the wool standing in for the poop.
..hi lady..great video..This is the best video i've see..now its clear how the system to build..Thank you soo much !!
Good explanation 👏 😊😊
I love the cut-away.💜
Great tips
Thank u very much for the illustrations and am going to build one ,
Nice
Doesn’t sand the barbs off the hole, uses rubbing alcohol on rubber seals, that degrades the seals, this is not the way to fit seals
❤
Thank you sooo much for simple well detailed description tutorial ❤🎉❤
You are very welcomed
It’s in Delaware , New Jersey and Maryland
Bro we are getting smoke halfway down the east coast. The fuck am I supposed to do about it?
i think we should cancel fire because of its horrible pollution and climate change.
Hello from Wisconsin. The smoke from those wildfires up there has been hazing out the sunshine for the better part of a week down here. With fires already starting in California and Nevada it's not going to get much better any time soon.
Love you you light for poor people
I succes to realise this experience.
I get a system that fonctionate right now
Thank you for this excellent video. However, I need some help. I tried repeating it but was not able to activate the digester. Its been more than 40 days. Please advise.....How do i troubleshoot??
Hello, what did you use as a starter manure?
Just use a septic tank starter if you don’t have access to fresh cow manure to inoculate
Best demo class..and beautiful explanation..namaste 🙏 Sister
Excellent explanation! Thank You.
Thankyou madam, i will try this model for my house
Wow perfect explaination
You must be a teacher. Good work
Thank you, I've been teaching people across the lifespan for over 25 years.
very articulate great work madam kathy
Well presented thank you, but very hard to hear

Cutting holes in reverse works better thanks. Alcohol is a solvent may react badly? Silicone lubricant is not reactive with rubber/plastic
The alcohol works as a lubricant for getting the PVC pipes through the rubber uniseals.

This is the best explanation I have ever seen on the urine channel.thanks
God bless you Mama, I love that. I want to ask you one more question, can that one drum of digester supply a house whole
No it will supply gas to run a one burner stove for two hours
Why didnt you film a night sence of final result?
Muy interesante,
De acuerdo
Great video
Assuming that gas line was coming out of the Puxin scrubber it may be sulfur as well as iron oxide. Iron oxide is desirable in the scrubber system because the Hydrogen Sulphide that you are trying to remove reacts with that and not the raw iron. The reaction is H2S + FeO2 -> FeS + H20 So the Hydrogen Sulphide reacts with the rust on the iron balls and produces iron sulphide and water. The water generates more iron oxide (rust) creating more reactive surface area for the Hydrogen sulphide. This is also an endothermic reaction and works most effectively above 20ºC However, iron Sulphide reacts with oxygen and turns back to iron Oxide + sulfur (FeS +1/2O2 -> FeO + S) So you get rust and sulfur produced which is probably what you can see in the tube. So the appearance of rust is not an issue and supports the scrubbers chemistry. What you may find is that the rust inside the Puxin scrubber has bonded the balls together and reduced its overall surface area. you might be able to alleviate this issue by smashing the container on the floor a few times to break apart all the rusted together balls. Also because the iron sulphide reaction is exothermic a large scrubber that has not been purged for a while could spontaneously ignite or at least get very hot when opened to the air. It's possible that enough oxygen is coming from the biogas to prevent saturation of the scrubber with iron sulphide. Because the steel wool in the new scrubber has a much greater surface area its possible that all of the steel wool structure will corrode to iron oxide powder and bond together into a solid lump in the new scrubber making it less effective over time. I guess thats why the Puxin uses steel balls to mitigate the iron oxide gluing everything together. Ideally you want to get a gas analyser that can detect low levels of Hydrogen sulphide and measure the raw gas and scrubbed gas to see how effective the scrubbers really are. www.sciencedirect.com/topics/engineering/iron-sponge-process#:~:text=H2S%20reacts%20with,form%20iron%20sulfide%20and%20water.
Nice lure for Mosquitoes at night
Since the filament is yellow, then the bugs won’t really be attracted to it.
Hi! A very good tuition on Diy biogas. Simple question why do we put gravel down first in the burell?
because everyone copies everyone else and do what they see.
First one I've seen with gravel but it would give areas for the microbe to grow on
@@douglaswindsor120 yes, because it is a small digester and the microbe-herd can be unstable. I don't use any gravel in the larger digesters over 1 cubic meter.
Thanks
