Great Aussi singer. At the height of his career he was very popular, particularly in Europe. The artist from Rockhampton never received enough accolades here in Australia.

Kevin Johnson never fully got the recognition he deserved in Australia. My wife and I travelled through Europe years ago, and many music lovers often commented what a fantastic musician KJ was and how proud Australia should be of him.

My parents used to play Kevin Johnson when we were young kids in the early and mid 80s. I hadn’t heard this utterly beautiful song for 30 or more years when my sister recently sent it to me. I couldn’t help but cry hearing it - thinking of my late Mum loving me when I was a little boy, and given it expresses so well in music my love for my two little boys now. You’re a legend, Kevin Johnson.

Seriously, no comments yet!? Never been 1st before! My dad introduced me to Kevin Johnson's music when I was a teenager in the 80's/90's. I was brought up on Slim Dusty, Kenny Rogers, Conway Twitty, Ted Egan and the like. They just depress me these days, whereas Kevin still has a place in my heart, good memories. Fantastic artist, great songs.

I'm back! I forgot to say, I saw the film this is from, (Magee and the Lady/aka. She'll be sweet) but I'm sure (memory problems) Kevin wrote at least two more songs in this film? If so! Can anyone enlighten me. I'm a huge Kevin fan who doesn't want to miss out!

I'm an English guitarist /singer, in the 60s/70s I was in a covers band, 7 nights a week for a couple of years I sang Rock and Roll I gave you .............. NEVER ! got tired of it. So I was already a huge fan when I happened to watch this film (not knowing his music was in it) He 'made' the film for me, created the atmosphere so the characters/story connected. He has what can't be taught! the ability to lay out the nitty -gritty of life in a way that touches you. And it can only come from an innate sense of the world. The biggest compliment I can give is ( it's a weird one!) : I haven't got any children, I've never wanted any and (Oh dear) I don't really like them !!! so Shaney Boy shouldn't have got me!!! but it did! big time! If that's not great writing I don't know what is! Something from the heart, beautifully put together! Great! great post!
