I am not a fan of Nela’s Giselle. Svetlana is excellent. I think Lopatkina and Osipova were/are outstanding Giselles

There are differences, but I think either performance offered a fine evening's entertainment. I think the Bolshoi performance is slightly more technically demanding.

Completely inappropriate to run the music in favor of Svetlana’s sequence of movements in order to make the other dancer look bad. Like Somova hears a classical music for the first time in her life. Make another video where Alina would follow the music but Svetlana will be out of tune. You wouldn’t do it, would you. This type of devaluing a prima shows still existant hatred toward a real pro. Some People have such hatred toward a true artist like Alina and is trying to hurt the Russian strength in the world of classical music ballet. These types of comparisons are completely unflattering to one of the dancers and very offensive also. Alina Somova knows how to play piano and has been studying at Vaganova 8 very difficult, intense years. With this totally inappropriate way of exposing a top professional ballerina as she doesn’t know how to hear and play piano, or doesn’t know how to put music and dance steps together, somebody is making Somova as a top pro dancer in a very dark light. It’s good that Alina Somova is very intelligent in Oerter not to pay attention to such offensive video clips.

Their variations have some different element and I find for inappropriate to compare two different ways of interpretation one variation.

Alina is usually very musical. The difference in musicality in this comparison is only when Silvie uses the entire music adding a movement of her arms going up to third position (or fifth according to Balanchine) where as Alina has a moment of waiting in beautiful graceful position before the hard part begins. Many professional dancers take a moment at some point in their performances for multiple reasons. Especially the male dancers often take a moment before moving forward in their variation to prepare mentally and physically for the next difficult jump or multi-turning pirouettes movement. If Alina has added an arm movement in changing arms’ position with some head movement she was going to be on the very last note before the beginning the next much harder part. However, generally, in her dancing style , Alina is moving fast but fast and musically eloquent. She is very energetic, with natural dynamic style of dance which is also incredibly graceful, highly technical, musically correct, elegant and very magnetic to the viewers. When she dances she radiates sense of confidence added to graciously moving her beautifully trained body. I like their performances equally. Each one has different way of expressing herself, and any form of disparagement of Alina who has being learning and polishing at Vaganova 8 intense years, on my opinion is devaluing her natural talant for dance and her graceful , fluid movements on stage.
