Fischer Paints: Sylvan Tutor for MTG Bloomburrow
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.5 месяцев назад
Get your fuzz on folks! Wow, I have been a part of many magic the Gathering sets, but I have to say the Bloomburrow expansions is one of my favorites. So many great artists. Everyone brought their A game. Maybe because we didn't have to worry about humanoid figures there was less pressure? Maybe it was the charming animal versions of iconic MTG cards? Maybe we were all fans of The Secret of Nim...
Fischer Paints: The Dance Oil on Panel

In this video I take you through my latest gallery painting for www.wentworthgallery.com I call it the dance. And I hope it captures a sense of romance mystery and adventure for you. We are oil on panel after a little acrylic wash to start us off. Toughest part of this one was concepting that dress turning into the sail before I even touched a brush.

The latest in my Rock and Roll fantasy series. I am obsessed with guitars, not playing them and painting on them... but painting them. This is Acrylic and oil on Panel. The music is by me!

U deserve more recognition and appreciation for this amazing artwork
Brilliant! I could hear the song in my head as I watched this ❤
Thats amazing
Sexy
Dude please start a patreon....
Amazing art as always! I love the composition of this.
Superb! Thank you for sharing this.
Scott I have just discovered your channel, and I have to say how much of a huge fan I am of it. How did you start illustrating for magic? other than your obvious talent and brilliant draftsmen ship. All the best Scott.
Wow. Spectacular! And so much control of the process…
Both? Both
Do I dare ask how many hours were given in making this? Or is it a case of it something best never considered? Anyhow, choosing which I prefer is impossible for several reasons - I mean when does one consider it the final piece? Is it off the painting itself? Well I saw one being made in front of me (just now) while I haven't seen the other. OR Do we go into its 'purpose' (if you can call it that) in being a MTG card? In which case one has a lot more art than the other (bigger, and you can see more). And that's not to mention the FOIL effect. I've only seen the old one in FOIL so far and its effect with the wings really grabs me (the new one in foil is currently on its way to me from you - THANKS!!!). So painting? Basic Card? Foil card? No idea where to draw the line to make a final decision... Just as well I get every version of Giada I can find, so I don''t have to choose.. Or maybe I do choose - a more personal one. - All the best to you and your wife. - Shane.
if you have the funds you may want to ask how much he would charge if you commission a custom Giada painting or if he even does commissions of that sort? im sure that would become your favorite in that case :)
@@EdenFalCie well Scott sells limited numbers of AP's (with actual original art) in his store - small (already created) batches when he has time (really rare - he's always busy) - blink for a minute and they're gone and you won't see any more for months. But a pure act of luck has gotten me one. THAT'S the one on the way, and which will become my 'personal one' and also my favorite. I wanted to thank them here (again) but also not upset any other fans, since its so hard with so little opportunities. So congratulations, what you wrote as a suggestion was the subtext of me actually thanking both Scott and Teresa again. Its on its way to OZ, so we had a little communication between us. :) Needless to say, Giada, Font of Hope is amusing as a name, since I needed to manifest Hope in somehow being one of the few lucky ones. So I'm excited for the AP, and I think that will easily do me... I may be an accountant, but I'm firmly in a blue collar business in a blue collar area - An actual painting commission beyond that on the back of a card will probably always be beyond me. Simply couldn't afford the basic asking price, let alone compete with anyone for limited chances (which would pump up the price). And that would even be before very bad FX.
@@harbingerofchaos6720 oh, very nice. definitely enjoy that piece and congratulations
I love the artist proofs you painted of her, especially the one she's wearing earrings. I hope I'm lucky enough to get one next year and Happy Holidays 🎄🎊
Recently I have been doing traditional painting as a way of studying, I have become more and more interested and your videos are a real source of learning for me. Thank you for sharing your process :)
I'm always so inspired by your commitment to experimenting in your paintings! It's so cool to see loose brushstrokes, stenciled graphics and terpentine spatter come together in a way that really works. I always try to get weird and try new things in my art because of you!
Your narration is as fine as your art my friend, very good videos 🤌 Your new version is better in my opinion, not that the old one is bad by any means, but it seems to fit the character better
fantastico arte
I aspire to a be as good as magic the gathering artist
Amazing work!!
Awesome
There was that moment at 14 seconds where I freaked out... 'What are you doing?' - instincts screamed at me that it was ruined... Only it wasn't... Shows how little I know, but the confidence to do that, and knowing it'll work out fine? Where do you get that to even attempt it the first time?!??!?
@@harbingerofchaos6720 the joy and safety net of having a solid acrylic drawing/wash underneath. I can always wipe back down to it. In this case I was trying to do a wipe off technique, but the oil sticks would not lift off as much as I thought, so I had to wipe it off and have another go!
Badass
You absolutely nailed whatever artistic sweet spot that inspires me with these last three pieces. This being my favorite. The attention to detail(or illusion or it) with Hetfield's V is awesome, you got all the nicks and wear on it too. Love these.
Great art, and go off on those techniques! The depth of the shadow and glow coming off her is unreal 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Awesomeness 😍 🤟
How did you get the reference for the swords??
Nice
Dope.
Siiiiiiiiiiick
Your covers are my favourite editions of the Witcher novels! I love them so much. So happy to have them on my shelf.
I love the way you explain your process, every stroke has a purpose!
Still coming back to watch this gem
soo cool 🥺
pulled this card yesterday in my first ever booster pack, had to check out the artist. great stuff! looks glorious.
You lucky duck!
Allways wonder, when you finish these paintings, how you digitalize them?
@@j90s56 usually I scan them on my trusty Umax Powerlook 1100, and use Photomerge in photoshop to stitch them together. If they are too huge, or have a special thing like gold leaf I have them professionally shot.
Beautiful work! I really appreciate your generosity to talk through your process - it takes me back to all the mid-stream heady conversations I got to have with other painters as we were working out what we wanted to create. One request - could you take a moment to showcase the physical setup that supports you as you work? That bar you were resting your hand on as you did the detail work especially! Thank you! Can't wait to see the next one!
it seems that robert simmons white sable liner brush have been discontinued, i m wondering what brush will replace this unique one that you are still using.
I just open a pack with the card and search about the artist because is awesome, thanks for the incredible piece of art i have now in my collection. Grettings from Mexico.
Why bind the woman?
you are an Art hero! such a fresh feeling with that combination of colours! so great to see you at work!
Love your work soooo much!
that white negative space really makes the painting pop! Love it
your picture is wonderful. I want the original picture, but I can't afford it. Thank you for the wonderful video. I'm Japanese and can't speak English. I am using the translation function. Sorry if my words are wrong.
This is amazing! The art is magnificent and that is the first thought that came to me when I saw it live, on the box and on the card. Just... the music was a bit too loud and it's kind of hard to understand you with the music. xD It is very nice to see it being made. Thank you for walking us through the process. :)
@@dvicko I agree in retrospect when I watched it. Apologies the music was so loud.
fantastico arte
always a pleasure to watch you doing your thing, and on a secondary note, it's also pretty cool to have your step by step guide on how you like to do things, very educational.
