Do you happen to know what happened the viking voyager boat missing its head, even better, do you happen to have it?
I'm only 4 minutes into this video and I can already tell you that I feel rushed. You're not giving enough information for time to look at things. Not a great selling point for me to visit this site. The tour guide also seemed unenthusiastic. Not sure I would pay money for this tour. Pretty boring tour. We had season tickets, back in the day when they were affordable. We gave them up when the team was awful. Now, if you wan to go to a game, you need to either be rich, win the lottery or take out a loan. I'll just watch the game on TV for free.
Von Roll VR101, the first detachable monocable ropeway system ever developed. Premiered in 1945 in Flims Laax Falera. Oldest VR101 in existence is 72 years old and unmodified. It's in Krupka, Czech Republic. What modern lifts have ever gone on to 72 years? Let alone even 50 years for that matter. I know the latest Doppelmayr Demon-Line lifts will never last that long before they malfunction. They are complicated as frick.
Love the timber wolf ... Hate the tiny cars
Believe it or not, lived in the KC area much of my life and never been to Silver Dollar City.
:o
That year I was 7 and my big brother took me and my mom there and he talked the ride operator into letting me ride the Zambezi Zinger with me sitting between his legs. I loved it even though it scared me a little. I remember laughing going down the big drop. ❤
There's one at lakeside amusement park in lakeside Colorado known as the cyclone it was the one that was in Nebraska was bought by lakeside amusement park and is operational and an amazing shape
It's criminal how Cedar Fair has dissected the park from where it was to where it is today. It's awful. To be honest I can't even go back anymore It's too painful. Orient Express and our parks other Iconic rides are gone. I'm sorry but the new Zambezi zinger while fun it's not the same. Steel for wood. Nope not even close to the same rides. And now with the six flags merger. I'll not be going back. I have more fun Trout fishing these days then fighting crowd's.
So many memories. Thank you
Never failed.the snake lore was great for getting at least 2 people in front of you to bail out of the line on Zinger and always took bets on when the poor soul doing ops would have to go up to the 2nd tier and push LOl Good times :)
This is one legendary woody at Worlds of Fun. It has since started becoming my favorite when growing up and already outgrowing the Wacky Worm (now called Cosmic Coaster) that I rode when I was a kid in the 90s. So glad they are working hard re-tracking it every now and then (just like any other typical woody). Up until I would become tall enough to outgrow the kiddie ones, I'm glad they decided to add in the headrests and change the lap bars to the ratcheting kinds to give the trains an A in safety features. It's a shame some other woodies like the Tornado and Outlaw at Adventureland and some others can't follow the same lead the Timber Wolf and some other ones with advanced safety features (including the Blue Streak at Cedar Point and The Racer and The Beast at Kings Island) do. The 560-degree upward spiraling helix was a nice start, but too bad it was making the ride bumpy for nearly 30 years of its life that it really needed to be replaced with the 70-degree banked hairpin turn in order to maintain its speed. For this ride's 35th anniversary, I got to buy this woody's namesake cap with the wolf ears that's a throwback to the original ones that were given to its first riders when it was new then, and some other Timber Wolf goodies including tees and other ones. I do sort of miss the original red color of the trains that matched with Little Red Riding Hood's cape, but otherwise repainting them to orange (like the color of a fox's fur) as well as the station house and queue line since last year would be to match with this ride's modernized logo they first introduced in 2018 when the old helix was replaced. This season, I went here four days straight on July 24-27 and would sometimes ride this on repeat.
I worked at an amusement park and the original bumper cars was called Autobon and now it's called Fender Bender where the cars look like 56 chevys. One ride I would consider it historical. The park I worked at also has a cable car ride still in operation today. The cable car ride from the 1964 NY World Fair is still operating at Six Flags Great Adventure.
The zipper came out in 68
Where is the place you were in at the end I don't recognize it?
That’s Tivoli Music Hall, which is home to the 50th history exhibit
Knoebels Amusement Resort still has in their kiddie land operations, the helecopters. Ironically enough, the Antique cars that were shown are the same type of model of vehicles that Knoebels uses as well. The Wild-cat tracking reminded me a lot of the Jet Star, which was also a Schwarzkopf Roller Coaster as well. And Knoebels had that coaster until around 91 or 92.
Spent more time filming the station than on the actual ride.
The different machinery and different confugurations of all old lifts are what make old lifts interesting and modern lifts completely dull.
Hello there! 😃 Found your channel today. Yes, definitely a lot of new changes going on in the park especially the Camp Snoopy area. I’m in the park almost every weekend for updates, merch and food. It’s sad that they’re not going through with the Snoopy Theater anymore. It’s going to be a resting place and possibly story time for the kiddos. Hope y’all had fun. Thanks for sharing! 🦋 Aloha 🌺🌈
Beautifuul roller coaster

Thank you for posting this!
Great video! Is that on-ride footage at the end sped up?
Back then, they didn't have the trim brakes like they do now since the mid 90s.
The legend! I would have loved to have seen GCI improve the helix instead of adding Prowler turn as I call it.
They replaced the helix because it was actually making the ride bumpy for slowing it down until making its way to the top and that second steep drop contributing to high G-forces.
The Viking Voyager is so much better maintained than Six Flags Over Texas flume. I know it's about a decade older but still.
Cool I didn't know that you could still Park back in the area without it being preferred.
@4:05... MCI is the original name/callsign of the airport: Mid-Continent International. The name was changed to Kansas City International, but the callsign remains MCI. @1950... Odd not to see blue water in Viking Voyager! @24:48... Zinger makes a nice sound!
When was this videotaped? Whatever camera you were using, it looks like you have it set on something so it remains still and doesn’t shake like it will if you’re holding it in your hand.
It’s shot with a handheld in 2023, the camera has stabilization
@@j2adventures224 I take a compact digital camera when I'm in the mood to take photos or videos while strolling in the park, and small enough to fit in a cargo pocket. Very nice to see this and some other original rides still operating today. That Falcon's Flight in the background (which I've never ridden on and on the site of Le Carrousel that sat for 37 years before being removed in favor of The Grand Carrousel near the park entrance) sadly didn't last long in the park and was down more than it was running. While they de-listed FF on their website and on park maps, it was SBNO for the entire 2023 season and wondering if they removed that one for real.
Such a timeless family ride
Was Buffalo playing them around the time of this tour
Yes. They played them a couple of days after this.
There is a Wild Cat in Washington State at the Puyallup State Fair grounds, and is owned by Burback's Funtastic Traveling Shows. It was refurbished several years ago and still running today.
I wonder if that is the one that was @ the Seattle Center's Fun Forest? It was supposed to be sold to a Texas park (two are mentioned in the video). So I was just wondering. The first texas photo has cars just like the one from the FF but popular/historic rides usually find their way to the fair grounds. I would love to see the old wooden coaster get a RMC facelift. The nostalgia is gone and it's time. That's the roughest most "take your life into your own hands" coaster I've ever riden.
I enjoyed part one! I would love to go back in time and be able to ride the ski heis again. I didn't remember that someone walked across the wire! Amazing!
Beautiful Von Roll VR 101. #vonroll #vonrollvr101
Never knew how rare these rides were, thanks for sharing those stats. Loved that Cheetah Hunt flyby as you were filming your POV. Awesome video! 🤩
I remember seeing the dolphin shows there as a kid. Early 90s think I was around 5 or 6. And the Viking Voyager had different boats!
I rode this back in June just a few days after its grand opening. This ride is really not all that bad. It is pretty wavy and stuff, but in order to be consistent with the original all-steel one. This is the first-of-a-kind wood-and-steel hybrid roller coaster built from the ground up by GCI, and with the spiral lift hill system like the original used. I got to buy my on-ride photo of this newbie. Hope you two had a nice ride on it.
Awwww fun, my brother and i are visiting the park early August cannot wait looks fun
You can sure tell the difference in sound when it goes from the standard wooden coaster track to the Titan Track.
Is it using an electric motor on the coaster to lift the train up?
Sort of... Antón schwartzkopf mid 70's
marvelous !
Love the Elitchs and Kings Island connection to Timber Wolf
Lee Derrough on the left started as the PR manager for the park and became park GM from 74 until 82.
Happy 50th birthday Zambezi Zinger!
Similar feel to the old one, looks like, but I wish it still had the tunnel too.
I think I'm gonna like this more than Prowler.
Colombia te quiero tanto! Encanto!
The first coaster at Worlds of Fun. What fun!
this is the REAL Zambezi Zinger, rode it 2 or 3 times everytime i went to Worlds of Fun growing up :)
It was great to meet you two again this weekend after all these years.
Thanks, you are going to be in the next video.
