I reallh am absolutely broken that in less than a century in a world that supposedly is enlightend and that people should not be hated or judged or murdered because of how they worship or because of their bloodlines. I was born after the holocaust into a family whose majority of relations still living in Denmark, who did not get out before the Nazi's invaded, were all lost to executions, died in labor camps or killed while fighting with the underground and helping smuggle Jews out of Nazi hands. One treasured letter from my great grandfather says that he knew that as a Christain God made it so that leaving was not possible as God needed help in Denmark to save his old testament believers. The only survivor of what the Nazi's did to the Jews and anyone of any race or nationality or religion that stood between them and there need to irradicate the world of the Jews, was a great uncle, who was all but 12 when he saw his grandmother, mother, and aunt and his 2 younger siblings and some young cousins were shot by Nazi's in there home for not divulging who the underground operators were that removed a family of jews just bare hours ahead of the Nazi's arriving to remove them after someone had told the family was hiding them. My great uncle had gone out in search of his father to ask if the family should flee and where too, but never found him, unaware he had been arrest by the SS. He arrived hom just before the Nazis were fed up with not getting the women or children to talk and they did not see him come in the back, he saw the shootings and panicked and ran trying to find his father again. This was not many weeks before Denmark was librated and the allies moved in and the soldiers were determined to make sure no Jews would be found that could speak to the allies about the horrors they endured. I grew up in a family that never let us forget that nearly 25% of our relatives died due to the stupidity of hate. I went to public schools where History classes taught about the holocaust and to Universities where professors were not scared or ashamed or bullied for speaking out about tje dangers of antisemitism or any racial hate. I am utterly ashamed now to see our university and college campuses teaching students such antisemitism and pouring terrorist propanganda into the minds of students such as was done in Germany those decades ago. I never have forgotten images and films the Nazis made that documented their atrocities or the images and films made by American and Western journalist of what was found in the concentration and labor camps as they were liberated. To start seeing those same types of images and video, now digital instead of on film, as Hamas documented their atrocities and to see the so called innocent Gazans pouring in after Hamas was done with the attacks, ignoring bodies and cries for help as they joyously looted and plundered what they wished, I saw no difference in my head between those decades old images and what was happening and what happened on Oct 7th. Had we not stopped Hitler, his intentions, like the terrorists and countries supporting them is to not just wipe out Jews but anyone that does not support them and is not of the same belief structure and their hatred will turn on the world. In stopping Hilter there were no cease fires so humanitarian aud could be brought in as the mllitary knew that time wouldbjust be used for the enemy to regroup and resupply even though they knew it mean truly innocent civilians would suffer and die. In the Pacific theater the same held true, a cease fire came when the enemy surrendered, not before. Same with the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, until the terrorists and their infrastructure was destroyed. Hamas has to to be treated the same way. Their is safety for civilians with aid coming in at the Egyptian border. Isreal is not targeting that area, although Hamas may be but Isreal agreeing to a cease fire or pause would be one sided as Hamas would still be fighting and use the time of no attacks by Isreal to regroup and resupply. Let Isreal do what it said it would do and give them all the support they need.
