Best 3 Affordable Neighborhoods in South Bay Los Angeles
YOU don't know what you're talking about. I grew up in Santa Monica in the 70's. I worked in the South bay in the 80's- Palos Verdes which was heaven on earth. I LEFT CA in the 90's and today it is a third world SHIT HOLE! Manhattan beach USED to be AWESOME! It still is, but the prices are a joke. Hermosa USED to be cool- not anymore either. Santa Monica is now homeless bums and crime- check out the MANY youtube videos about it. You must be a Biden voter because you are spreading FAKE news. Anyone who doesn't believe me, go watch some other youtube videos on how bad things are now in California. FJB. And F Gavin Newsom. I was BORN in Long Beach when it was GREAT. It's now a crime ridden democratic garbage can. Still time to get your GED btw and time to MOVE. BTW, I now live in Galena IL- and it's WAy better than any city in Kalifornia. So glad I left CA like the millions of other smart people.
The ordinary working class probably can't live there.
This is possibly opportunity job for foreigners in California? Or study a new profession?
It's a tough job market right now and the US has a lot of restrictions with job visas.
Unfortunately, CA has a horrendous housing crisis right now. 3 out of 4 young families have admitted to wanting to leave southern California due to skyrocketing rents. The combination of increase in demand & investment housing with low supply (boomer homeowners have forced cities to deny new housing for decades, resulting in not enough housing for our population)
Affordability & availability is definitely an issue in California.
Did #5 surprise you?
Amazing
You forgot to mention that all these home listings are for the super rich and wealthy and also you forgot to mention that in Santa Monica there’s tons of homeless people so you’ll be paying well over $2 million for a house and you’ll have nothing but homeless people living right outside your house
The homeless organizations there go and solicit the people into signing up for disability or mental illness.. they need more work programs or to get the homeless out of that area no reason to group up a bunch of people unable to physically work there. It's just crazy watching them return to the homeless shelter behind the mall with shopping carts full of stolen merchandise
Are u homeless?
@@ibowalker9891 I was homeless there for a while and as someone who wanted to work and it worked with harbor interfaith path and Lasa All of the homeless service providers are anti-job and anti-work for the homeless ..... My main problem is that they cannot receive help at a homeless shelter or in a housing facility without becoming mentally ill or disabled on paper which prevents them from getting work which means they're just sitting there for 2 to 3 years with their caseworker telling them just to sit and wait for a free home.. that is absurd... Basically, if the homeless person is not taking therapy classes or on prescription medication, they're not going to get the funding they need in order to keep their business open to provide housing for them. So it's all hey scam, a homeless person going into a homeless shelter just provides more jobs for government workers not homeless really look into it logically
@@ibowalker9891 so my point is for any homeless person reading this. You cannot accept a shelter bed or anything like that and continue your search for work. Even if they tell you it would be good if you did look at the schedule of classes you're supposed to go to and how much time you have to dedicate to that program.... It's just a mind game and you're going to be stuck there for a long time. If you go into one I had to refuse to accept help from companies like that in order to get off of homelessness, it's like your final test
I woulld love to live in south pasadena but it is way too expensive
Indeed most good neighborhoods in LA have become unaffordable but especially the ones with the best public schools.
Which neighborhood are you most likely to move to?
I love your insight and passion for the South Bay.
Best compliment ever - so grateful for the feedback thank you.
that dirtyhorendous monster calls in front of people his wife (while Still Thinking And Imagining SINGLE SHE IS a (WAREWOLF) Cute DUDE
No mention of Toyota moving their US headquarters out of Torrance, CA to Texas and taking a lot of supporting business with them. California is not business friendly. Torrance is also west of a large oil refinery and areas full of people living in dilapidated motor homes. Drive east of Torrance not just west and south experience this.
Honda headquarters are still in torrance.
if you live in N. redondo you shouldn't have kids as they are not worthy of life.
liiving close to the freeway is the most important thing in LA which is why i CHOOSE to live in a tent underneath of it.
What else do you want to know about living in Redondo Beach?
The oil refinery is a dealbreaker; studies show that those who live within 10 miles have a higher risk of CANCER. The Torrance refinery uses MHF which could lead to THOUSANDS OF DEATHS if leaked. There was a near miss/serious accident in 2005. Living near an oil refinery is a BIG NO. Manhattan Beach is also a big NO (next to El Segundo refinery and a water plant?!). All of these oil refineries in the south bay area make the entire area a massive no for me. Having one in a residential aea is crazy. Its not just "air quality" or a pollution issue. If there is an accident, thousands will die from MHF which is highly dangerous and burns organs/flesh. Accidents can happen. I wouldn't live anywhere in Torrance!!!
You have to be a piece of trash to celebrate this.
5:10 Being a New Yorker that was the only reason why we ever heard of Hawthorne…that’s where The Beach Boys are from👍🏻Informative video. It seems like a nice place to live, especially for children and the local school system.
I need a place to stay, rent a room
Thank you kindly. You re an eloquent and down to earth effective speaker. I enjoyed your insights and knowledge on Torrance. I am now considering Encinitas instead.
I grew up in hawthorne from 90s to early 2000.
Having grown up there in the 60s and 70s, I'd go along with most of this. It was a lot like the Wonder Years, but as you sequed into your teens, Borrance was a term you could relate to. Two things I'd strongly disagree with, however. Compared with the natural disaster's the rest of the country and the world faces, earthquakes are a very occasional nuisance.(they're actually kind of exciting). To my knowledge, no one has lost their life to an earthquake in Torrance for at least the 60 years of my lifetime. As for the weather, well, if you want seasons, yeah, it's not the place for you, but if nearly year round T shirt in the daytime seems a burden, then I really don't know what to tell you. If you like doing outdoor stuff, then there's hardly a day where the weather will interfere or even has to be considered. As for the chilliness of May Gray and June Gloom, she's overblown it by a mile. It's just frustrating because you're anxious for real summer to begin. I swim bareback in the ocean year round here: the water dips into the high 50s in winter and spring, but it really isn't that bad--very doable. It's a suburb primarily built postwar centered around cars and big housing tracts for defense workers. It's kinda bland, but it has perfect weather--in my view--and it's safe. If her caveats really bother you, then coastal Southern California really isn't for you because it's pretty much the same story from LA to the border.
I have lived in LA my whole life and I have explored every city, hands down La Canada is the BEST PLACE ever. Just seems like there is less evil there than anywhere else.....beware the coast cities is where a lot of drug ,sexualization ,graffiti are at.....
Definitely a lot to love about La Canada
I grew up on the Avenues (South Redondo) in the early 60’s and 70’s. It was the best! Went to South School Elementary (Knob Hill/PCH), Hillcrest Jr. High, and RUHS. I’m in my 70’s now, retired living in the Hollywood Rivera.
I wish I could have experienced what it’s like here back then. I’m “only” here 24 years
how far is that stick, S.A.?
Manhattan Beach by far is number 1. Both are great though.
Strong opinions on both sides 😉
Hawthorne.. ghetto AF… but it’s all good in the neighborhood..
about right..i live across from redondo high...big issue now is kids on ebikes....
Big time! They ride them with reckless disregard for traffic laws. Running stop signs and red lights. Failing to yield to pedestrians in crosswalks etc.
As a third generation California native, I’ve always found the earthquakes, a bit fun, including the minute long violent shaker of the Whittier earthquake, which I experienced in Whittier. The buildings are built to stave off shakers per Law. This New York native does not have a depth of California love and comes across as someone who should be running around Walmart screeching at people.
Yeah, the charm here is the weather--if you like hassle-free--and easy access to the beach. It's a postwar bedroom community built for commuters in the aerospace industry. A safe, boring place to raise kids. If you want charm, if you want culture, if you want seasons, if you want to walk to stores, you're just in the wrong place. Earthquakes, May Gray, and June Gloom are way overblown in this video.
Just make sure your realtor provides you with the approx 400 pages of CC&Rs, amendments, bylaws, and resolutions, in readable form, during the disclosure period. Note that the PV Homes Association does not consider themselves to be constrained by the Davis-Stirling laws for HOAs. Just be informed.
The Old Mitsuwa on Carson@ Western closed😢. Don’t like the new one…
Oh bummer. I haven’t been to the new one
Grew up in Hawthorne in the 80s. My dad retired from Northrop in 96. Then moved to New Mexico. Miss Hawthorne
It’s changed a lot since then.
Yes it is I just need the right place for me 55+
Happy to offer a few suggestions
Best beach city in LA.
I grew up here and have to say this was an honest assessment.
Thank you. I try to keep it real so ppl moving here get the whole picture
hello, i was wondering if you knew of any abandoned places in torrance maybe near Del Amo Mall. I live here and my friends and i are so bored with just going for bike rides and staying at home. we want to explore abandoned building and unfinished construction that were never fully built. Thank You!😁
I live up in north Torrance and I can say if your looking to be more near the freeway or have more races in the area north is pretty much the way to go. If you live in south Torrance you'll just see straight up white people. If you go West Torrance still straight up Whites but you'll also see a lot of Asians. Old Torrance is still a lot of whites but you do see more Hispanics and blacks the closer you are to Western Blvd. North is where you see African American's, Hispanic's, Whites, Asians, and Muslim's and Indians and all that. You basically got a lot of races and ethnicities over here. In North Torrance we do have a lot of apartments mainly around 182nd, Crenshaw, and Yukon. We are next to the Torrance Refinery so I can say the air is more polluted over here. But I can say one thing and that is that in Torrance there isn't much to really do like its pretty boring and stuff not much happens. You don't really got anything much to do at night if your like younger in your 20's. The city itself is more or less just a place where people like to settle down and stuff but I can say this, Redondo is better looking then Torrance but is way more expensive but if your looking for not so higher prices try Hawthorne, Inglewood and Gardena one of the 3 neighboring and close cities.
Yeah, it's the definition of a bedroom community. Borrance
Walkable is more for city living not suburbs
So rename it “ Neighborhoods for Rich families “
Pasadena over south pasadena any day. More stores very nice neighborhoods and ethnic diversity
My wife and I are deciding whether to move to Topanga Canyon or Palos Verdes. This was very helpful, thankyou
Thank you I am so very glad to hear you found it helpful. Reach out if you have any further questions.
Thanks for the info. What about the non Wiseburn schools are they that bad? I heard Hawthorne High is terrible
Varied opinions. Check greatschools.org or niche.com to read reviews
Being fair skinned I love all the gloom and discourages all the non-Natives from crowding the beaches I’ve been here 65 years and the city will never be as nice as when I grew up in the Sixties and Seventies.
Demographics reveal the standard of living.
You didn’t mention the influx of homeless in nearly all the parks, bus bench’s, parking lots and on the streets.
Thanks to your governor
not as bad as downtown LA
good info, good job
Thank you for the kind feedback I'm glad you found value in the video
Would you consider moving to Lawndale?
I'd Love to live in Los Angeles I'm working hard in brazil to accomplish this.
Exist works or opportunity for foreigners musician?
I don’t really know sorry
Looks like a beautiful place to live and thanks for such a great video!
Thank you I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
Seasons???? Yes, we avoid the shitty ones!
