In Judo do you are not allowed to sit. It's against the rules. It will cost you a point.

That’s such a stupid move. It should be banned because it slows down the action. This isn’t a real fight, it has limited time. In a real fight the person sitting down would catch a face kick and these tournaments are supposed to simulate the participants ability to fight while implementing rules that keep them from permanently injuring themselves. By the same token some rules are meant to keep the action flowing, like limiting the ring or mat size.
