Only the 2003 540i was an M sport, this is the sport package, there’s a difference.
Very good and detailed video. Thank you
21 city 30 hwy or 24mpg combined 0-60 mph 6.8 seconds. Oil changes every six months. Leather, especially headrests require regular leather moisturizer at this age. There are two charcoal a.c. airfilters and one engine airfilter under the hood. The front grill traps leaves and requires carefull cleaning. Monitor cooling system regularly. It should NOT be full. Even with the BMW stick, the coolant should be the depth of your index finger. Tire pressure indicated on the door jamb is WRONG! 29/41 is WRONG. Put the tire pressure at 34psi for both front and rear.
Sorry Mr.Expert, but this 530i M Sport is not correct. If it is an M Sport, then the front and rear bumpers are not correct. If it isn't, then a previous owner swapped in Sport wheels, seats and a three spoke steering wheel. Take your pick. Can't tell but Sport suspension is an inch lower, firmer shocks.
Why in the f*ck would you even design something that complicated for a simple task…. Leave it up to the Germans! 😂
Congratulations!
Just got same car!!!
69 Chevelle and 69 Mustang Mach 1 were my 2 favorite cars when they came out in 69'. Ironically the first car I ever bought was a 69' Road runner right out of High school in the 70s'. My first car was a hand me down 65' Barracuda. My current car is a 17' Super Sport Camaro with a manual trans.
Mines a 60 with a trunk
hey, is this still available?
You’re a serious Metropolitan collector. Out of all the cars I’ve restored and all the cars I’ve sold the Metropolitan gets the most happy people comments.
This is the last year they made the Metropolitan, i have four of these here in England UK, my series 3 is the same colour as this series 1V car in Mardi Gras Red and Frost white in the US it was Snowberry White
When I was in college my buddy had a 69 Chevelle with a 396 and a 4 speed. It would get up and go.
350 horse engine huh?? Lol... Fabulous
Very nice ride man definitely a great sounding ride looks and power u for got to tell the price 👍
Is this car for sale?
The car sold. I leave the videos online for nostalgia.
Somebody buy my 69 elco restrorod need 60000
LMAO !
Woah. Stunning looking 650i l.
The new owner was so happy he bought another car for his wife.
you got awesome car
Thank you, it was fun to build. I am building a 1967 Camaro now and will be posting a video shortly
these are awesome cars my dad had 1 69 convertible 396 375 hp it was silver with black top and black interior ran super strong he wished he still has it im sure its a high dollar car now it only had around 36.000miles on it
That would be an awesome car and color combination.
❤🇨🇦🍁A spectacular restoration. Back in the day, those were loved by everyone who drove them. Dependable, inexpensive to operate and just a gem…🇨🇦🍁
Agreed
I LOVE MY CAR MORE THEN I LOVE MY WOMAN, THIS IS WHY SHE STARKS ME...
YOUR DAMM RIGHT!!! I STILL HAVE MINE 200K LATER..YOU BETTER NEVER EVER, EVER SELL THAT CAR!!! TRUST ME YOULL REGRET IT...
Great job, fantastic looking car. Too bad you couldn't put original exhaust pipes on to add some visual originality. I had a LeMans Blue SS396 375hp back in 1969. Loved that car.
James, It had large headers and 3” exhaust that sounded so good I couldn’t bring myself to do NOS exhaust. The customer that bought it had previously bought three cars from me and liked the exhaust sound. He saw the car going through the entire restoration and I built it to his liking. Thanks for watching ans commenting on my car.
Very nice car! Good restoration and attention to details and maintaining originality!
Thank you for the kind words. Stayed tuned for the 67 Camaro I am building.
They rollover way too easily.
Good thing they never happened to me :) It’s not a rally car
WAT WII MAD CAR THE .WAY THE .WIIS LOOK SO BAD P
My remember one of the neighbors down the street having one of these when I was a kid. I bet it is hard to find parts for them now
Easy to find parts, i have 4 Metropolitans here in England UK, its a B Series 1500 engine which was used from the 50s to the 70s in lists of cars built by BMC, so spares are plentiful, i have a garage full. theres Metropoiltan Parts in Hartleton Pennsylvania or The Metropolitan Pit Stop in North Hollywood Los Angeles, both of which are excellent and send catalogues in mail. The Pit Stop has a fantasic museum
The cleanest one I have seen
Thank you for the nice comment!
@@Automotive-Velocity Anytime brother. I did subscribe to your channel hope to see some more great content and may your channel blossom. Cheers. Malik Martin ATL GA
i have one in black heads up and heateed steering wheel mine has woodgrain trim
Such a great car and black is a great color with the sleek body lines of the 650!
I have heard from people who have driven or owned one of these that, for a small car, they gave a very good ride.
My mother got one of these, in the exact same color, for her 18th birthday, from my grandparents. She said it was so underpowered that it would not make it up some hills in our area. Otherwise, she loved the car.
The trunk appeared in 1959, I believe. The NEW parts availability for these cars, even in 2022, is excellent. At least one major supplier is in California, and, with $7.00/gal. gas, it's easy to see why. They are probably doing extremely well, right now. These cars get 40 MPG, and Metropolitans in excellent condition sell for around $10,000. Quite a bit cheaper than a Tesla.
My friend just found gas in Southern California at $9.99 / gal. I don’t think the pump can go any higher. Next they will start to sell for $6.00 half gallon. I had a fellow call me last week asking for advice about Metropolitans. He’d been shopping and said he couldn’t find a nice one for under $20k! I’m not up on the market but that’s a big increase over when I sold this one a few years ago!
@@Automotive-Velocity Yes, they'll price it /half gallon. They're already doing that, since Biden, at a full service station, here in MN.
This country is going to be like the movie Americathon at this rate with no end in sigh, I can see fuel rationing and reduced speed limits being a thing at some point if things get bad enough.
Hello! Adria, from Barcelona, Spain. I'm wondering how much it goes for, just bought one with 110.000 kms, one owner and all the service record. I think I got a good deal but in Europe there are literally 2 for sale and in a really crappy shape so I don't really know its value
I am located in the Seattle USA market and there's a strong BMW following here. Plus it's one of the biggest hight tech areas in the world so there are many high paying jobs. Both of these factors effect the value. There's a smaller market for the E63 models than the E46 models and earlier E39 models. There are fewer cars and fewer people that are looking for them. That being said, an E63 manual trans car in the USA is extremely rare. The cars that bring money are all about condition. Prior to Covid-19 I was able to sort through 2-3 thousand cars per week and only find 3-4 BMWs worthy of investigating further. And after all that would buy 1 or 2 and some weeks come up empty. Here's the short answer to your question. Check your market for a similar automatic car and add 30%.
Hey I just bought one replacing clutch today there worth more than the 2015 650 and 640i in my opinion super fast 💨 car 🚗
We think alike. The older models are lighter and nimble. The newer ones are loaded down and too much of a luxury car. Old ones have a beautiful simplicity to the body lines. And the hum trunk has come of age and doesn’t look like it’s out of place anymore. Great Choice!
@@Automotive-Velocity also I don’t think they make 6 speed manual transmission for the new 2015 and up 650i or 640i you’ll have to get the m6 with the 6 speed and I heard that’s rare also ??? But I’m Not sure
@@Automotive-Velocity I tell people all the time I know that the 650 isn’t a rare care itself but I tell them if u find a manual In The 6 series it holds it value ...because you don’t see them all the time ...but all blessing to you bows &many more to come
@@amgmeplzsayso7878 The 650i and earlier 645i manual transmission cars aren’t well known like the E46 and E39 cars. The great thing about the 650i manual is how well the car is balanced and how well the car moves out compared to the automatic car. The 650i was well thought out and is demonstrated by how they used composite fenders, aluminum doors and unity mixed with steel to make front and rear weight match. Excellent cars!
@@amgmeplzsayso7878 Drove two hours to see a manual that had been listed for 8 days. I saw it, came back the next day, and it was gone. Second time I've let a manual go, the other one was only 15 miles away, one owner, saw it, drove it, called the salesman the next day, it was gone...
Looks good. A British engine with no leaks? Uh, what?
@ksamm007 i love it
Piece of shit car had one always trouble and expensive problems
You know this specific car?
@@bobforpples Are you stupid?
Only if you buy a bad example that hasnt been maintained properly.
@@martinsv9183 Bullshit and you know it.
I am looking at one for $11,000 same car, same year, is it worth the price?
Oscar, I cannot recall how much I sold the car for but think it was $11,000 or $12,000. The car was in excellent condition in all aspects. Sold the Fall of 2019 and the customer turned around and sold it a year later for $19,000. It's hard to say because the price depends on the condition, color, and miles. Plus not coming from a state with rust or corrosion issues is a huge difference.
I just bought one in really good condition for 5,000.
@@CzarYe No you didnt lol.
You couldn't find a parking lot somewhere or a dead end road to do this video Just saying
Why drive around a parking lot when the car is meant to be driven on a nice country road? Trolling around a parking lot isn't a good use of time or energy.
What's the matter with you, John? No marshmallows to put in your hot chocolate this morning? Just saying.
My father had one
That must be a great memory!
This is awesome!
Very nice 👍👌, glad to see someone who appreciates craftsmanship and history, great 👍👌 job 👏
I would have thought so too. But, there’s a good following for these cars and parts are readily available. If you do find one make sure it’s rust-free. Rust is the enemy of these cars.
