Kick starting my 78 shovelhead

Like just pushing that start button but nothing like the ol fashion kick start
Something oddly inappropriate about all white boys inducting this guy, considering Mr King was one of the first bandleaders to employ a multi-racial unit.
Is bonnamassa really playing Freddie's guitar here?
Had to be a copy that he owns.. ain’t no way it’s Freddie’s.
Saw him repeatedly at the Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin in the early 70’s. Epic
Legendary, Freddie would have loved this
I love all these guys (especially Derek), but not one of them plays with the power of Freddie King. When Freddie played, it practically tore your ears off. Freddie's playing was smooth as silk, and his guitar tone cut like a knife. SRV probably came close.
Not sure why everyone is so impressed with Trucks' solo. He repeatedly slides to the bottom of the neck with a muddy sound (I don't know know what you call that thing) in between the good parts and I think it takes away from his solo which is fine otherwise. Joe, as usual, shows off too much, Dusty Hill's solo is run of the mill, and drummer is top notch. I saw Freddie King live in the 1970's and he was truly great. I've seen Joe's full show and it got boring to me after a while and I am not a fan of hair gel and expensive suits anyway. Give me a drunk Buddy Guy circa 1970 any day.
I didn’t see Dusty take a bass solo.. you must mean Billy.
Should had Susan Tedeschi do the vocals.
Every Guitarplayer has his own Style… i think some guys here are just jealous because they never get fast as joe
Most real blues guitar player say about speed, “yeah I’d like to, but I still wouldn’t” I heard Albert King say it once.
2:19 Joe and Billy are like holy shit.
Miss Dusty
Freddie King was lookin down and sayin WTF ? Ya'll white boiz fcukin up a great song.
God Bonamassa is such a tool. So corny too. Dude sounds like a Guitar Center on a Saturday.
Joe took from Billy [Showing off too much] Derek great ..Billy Great. Very sad thinking of Dusty
Spectacular.
they could/should have had the old guys who knew Freddie Play up there Buddy Guy, Byther Smith ect the real deal Black guys who are still around but of Course they have Joe Bonamassa get up there n shred....disrespectful n distasteful
I agree. It's only Derek that is good enough to honor Freddie King. The others...well there are good technically but they forgot that this is not a technical show off. It's blues for one of the greatest. There is tons of musicians that have soul and respect for blues and for Freddie King. The people that did the casting is to blame. Very sad to see this. However Freddie King: rest in peace and be proud of all good music you did brought to us.
Uhh… Dusty played with Freddie when he was a teenager, cuz Freddie knew that Dusty could hang…then as ZZ Top, Billy and Dusty shared the stage with Freddie many times.
Derek Trucks may be the most humble musician on the planet. He can pretty much smoke everybody on this stage, but is content to hang back and let J.B make a ham out of himself.
Joe tried jamming with Derek years ago, when Derek had his own band and invited Joe to jam. Joe looked rather baffled half way through Derek's solo, as to look over, and say what is that he is playing and how is is doing that! Joe to me has always been a mimic of guitar players, never, ever finding his own voice! Everytime i have heard him, i know exactly who he is trying to copy.
Yeah agreed
Joe is lacking that wine and soul in his Bends!
Hey Bonamasa!!!! its not an Eddie Van halen tribute , slow down and make it simpla! lol
joe is just too much sometimes. derek killed it!
Bonamassa is an amazing guitar player but he never will be a bluesman. This video is one of the reasons why. Not hating just saying.
exactly,I always think he is actually a shredder who love blues, but definitely not a blues guy
yup, agree, he needs to make it simple for the audience and for the musicians next to him, it is not a face off i mean you are next to Billy Gibons! Derek obviously got the idea.
dereck trucks is absolutely incredible..
Trucks kicked Posermassa's ass on this one
When Derek starts, Joe goes, dang that's what its supposed to sound like
zz and the others did very nice things, bonamassa was horrible. i know he's great and shit, but sometimes even the greatest do wrong. this was his turn.
No.
Trucks could burie anyone at will.........even willie...he bad.
Freddie King was the man!!! These guys are great but do not do him justice.
Bonamassa. Why play one gorgeous note when you can fit 73 in.
Oh, and Dusty Hill is a freaking rhythm machine.
At about 1:40, Derek Trucks pulls his glass slide out of his pocket like he almost forgot about it and realized he needed it for his face melting solo. LOL!
And Paul Shaffer and Anton Fig
Bonamassa: Cool guitarist. Abominable douche-face.
Bonamassa really overdid it on this one IMO.
Bonamassa can't hang man
Yes, I think he often lacks the feel
Joe is constantly over doing it. He sounded more like Eddie Van Halen than Freddie King.
I feel like he was nervous as hell. I know he had been playing like 30 years at the time of this but on stage with ZZ Top and Derek, he seemed like he was doing the max he could and not trying be musical, he can be great but yeah, I agree. Overdid it here unfortunately but I can see why the nerves were at 100 haha
Best fuckin Video on you tube.
Yeah his sick. But this fuckers.
Thanks....He loves it...
love the blues men
obrigado !
Nice looking bike. Couldn't have been parked there for too long though, there isn't any oil on the slab!
