Misunderstood (midi) D - G (2x) D G - D G 1. Tryin' to be misunderstood, but it doesn't do me any good. Bm G Em Love the way they smile at me, held that face for eternity, A now let them all fly off. Em - G - D A When it comes down, it all comes down, you will not be found. Em - G - D A - - - When it’s over, it's all over, even if I make a sound. D G - D G I'll be misunderstood by the beautiful and good in this city. D G - Em A None of this was planned, take me by the hand, D just don't try and understand. G - D G 2. Tryin’ to be misunderstood, just a product of my childhood, Bm G Em and still I find myself outside, you can't say I haven't tried, A perhaps I tried too hard. Em - G - D A No excuses, you won't apologize, or justify your lies. Em - G - D A Come find me, tell them to me, look me in the eyes. + CHORUS D G - D G Can't forgive, sorry to say, you don't know you're guilty anyway, D G D isn't it funny how we don't speak the language of love. (orig. = capo 2nd) (Robbie Williams)

I"ve loved the two MOTT albums every bit as much as I loved almost all the Mott the Hoople albums, play them regularly since they came out in '75 and '76 because they DID have songs, they did have ROCK, they did have GROOVE - and hearing this acoustic version of one of many wonderful songs from them warms my rock 'n roll soul...rawk, no roll...thanks!
Cheers Bruce I was always a massive Mott fan and played these albums to death :-) Love Mott the Hoople as well :-)
great job ..I wanted to join in nice to see a cover done with a beer and good time cheers from Detroit
cheers Gary, we have a great bunch of players who play and sing well but don't let that get in the way of having fun, Cheers from Sheffield England :-)

Nice!!!!
Just FYI, This was written by David Markham. Not Ken Knowles
Hopefully with due acknowledgement to Dave Markham who composed this song!
Sorry to let you know but Ken Knowles didn't write these two Sheffield Flood songs, The Moon Shines Down and The Navvies Song, but were written by me for a Pegasus Play about the Flood 20 years ago. As it is the 150th anniversary of the flood Toffee Music, Mike Lydiat and myself will be performing them in conjunction with the Bradfield Parish Council. Dave Markham P. S There were three other songs written for the play by me!
