Saw him in Lund at a really small uni pub sometime in the early-mid 80's. It was an absolutely amazing performance and I'm so grateful I got to see him live.
He came through Ole’ miss when I was there I interviewed him for the school TV station. He told me to come down to the Hokka that night he was putting on a show I brought my harmonica he had everybody whooping and hollering so I pulled my heart out, started playing. He stopped playing, pointed at me, then pointed at a spot next to him at the edge of the stage where he was just sitting on the stage it was like he passed me the mojo cause I was playing things. I never knew I could play, and everyone was clapping and singing along after that, he said to come with him, and I spent the weekend at a professors house where son was staying. It was the best time ever.
Man there was a joint down in Clarksdale miss. Had some great players back then. Man on a Friday night there were so many people that the bootleggers got payed. Man I loved the woman music gambling drinks I would wake up about 2 pm on a Saturday head hurt from the nightlife gambling what can I say you win you loose. But the woman back then some times I win sometimes loose. You can kind of say gambling and life it's the same. One time I was there on a Friday night parking the truck heard all this noise. I live by curiosity killes the cat . Will sometimes the yelling is good sometimes it bad. Will I need to know what is going on. There was a woman that caught my eye. They were yelling 7 from heaven baby with a pair of dice in the man's hand. I watch a few minutes went by and the beautiful woman got the dice. The story is no woman no money. A day in Clarksdale miss.

I saw Son play at the Chicago Blues Festival in 1988. This was outdoors in Grant Park. There was the Main Stage for the top name performers and lesser venues for those less well known. I was walking toward the Main Stage to get an early seat when I was stopped cold by the performance coming from a small Stage nearby. The performer was Son Thomas, and his voice, on that day, was the most amazing combination of falsetto shivers. I found my legs taking me right over to where he was performing, and that is where I stayed until he was done. It was something of a crime that he was not recorded on that day, because this was his last great performance. He had a stroke shortly afterwards.
@@Steeljanne He will live on trough his music....especially in the heart of this musician, guitarist and lover of the true blue blues. What a player!!!
