Judging gimmicks on todays scale is disingenuous. As a youth living in territory, we didn’t know about bookings and gimmicks. Nor was wrestling back then critiqued like this. Great footage of old school Mid South but lighten up , explain the storyline and just allow old school wresting live on it own nostalgic merits.

Title changes occurred in the territories more often because they were selling tickets weekly or bi-weekly in some cases. Fans were used to it back then because it was done to enhance the story. Comparing the territories to the attitude era in a national company is apples and oranges 😊

I like the content but that music…sounds like Art Bell or something…makes wrestling seem weirs…drop the music and background effects

The one thing I hated about backlund was every month from MSG he would defend against every heel,I'm talking Stan Hansen ,I credible hulk Hogan, superstar Graham,snuka masked superstar,etc,etc and as an 13 years old I knew he would win Everytime and it was boring!!

Of all the 'new age fans' that despise Hogan and put the 'creative control' 'that doesn't work for me brother' tag on him...LOOK at how many guys from the AWA he brought into the WWF to get paid! Heenan, Ventura, Mean Gene, Pantera, Ricter, Martel, Santana, & Brunzell. He knew the entertainment factor for sure!

Been binge watching these while I try to get Pro Wrestling Sim up on my channel. Love this era, it is when I fell in love with wrestling! Have you ever played TEW 2020? As for Kabuki's arm pit move, that really was on Kerry to sell it better, he should have tried to punch him but sell that it was painful to lift up his arm! But WccW has to wait a few years until the PA system turns on and you hear "Badstreet, Atlanta GA! Baddest street in the whole USA!"

I've seen several of these videos and I think Mid South might have been the weakest territory in 1982. Florida, Georgia, Portland, WWF, Mid Atlantic and Memphis werw all better

As a kid in the 70s, I saw Sharpe wrestle King Kong Mosca in Thornton, Arkansas. Thornton is a town that... if you wind up there, then you're obviously lost. The card was in an ancient wooden gymnasium what wasn't used anymore and torn down shortly after. In those days, you could smoke practically anywhere, but the town wouldn't allow smoking in there because it might have caught fire. Years later, I found it funny that two Canadian wrestlers were fighting in a nowhere town in Arkansas.
