Years ago when this first came out my good friend Charlie told me Zwan was Billy Corgans new band and I bought the cd. This song amazed me so much and I loved how beautifully poetic the lyrics were. My daughter was a couple years old and I had been engaged to her mother but my heart couldn’t bring me to marry her. I loved these lyrics so much and I would sing along but it made realize my feeling at the time… a white horse picks my dreams up to take my hopes to God My prayers have nestled brightly To dim my sense of awe I want you to be someone I can’t deny A house on fire I want you to be something I realize… … so And so I wanted badly for this to be our song or a song I could sing along to and feel proud to relate to it but I couldn’t . I did not marry her and about a year later it was over and she married someone else. It was meant to be. About 21 years later now my daughter is 23 and expecting her first child and my girlfriend and I just celebrated our 8 year anniversary being together. She doesn’t know it yet but this is our song. She’s the one… I want her to be my message I want her to be my friend I want her to be that answer An answer I must defend I want us to solve our distrust of everyone and trust in God I want us to solve our distrust in who we are …as the world goes round with our love 🎼 Beautiful lyrics and a cool song! One of my favorites for sure🙏❤️

I saw Zwan in 2003, and they were great. It's pretty funny reading comments here about sound quality. This video appears to be recorded on handheld camcorder at best. Each musician in the group is extremely talented, and I think their talents meshed well in Zwan.

One of my favorites on my 2015 Zwan kick. Re-interpretation of blues ior traditional music in a contemporary context, and before the White Stripes. Billy is a visionary, genre spanning music prowess. I believe dust my broom is early 20th century slang for prepare to leave town.

I don't know the full kit, but in an interview he said he did the studio recording of this song with a Yamaha Manu Katche.
