In the case of the NX group, the alloy crankarms are solid, unlike the lighter GX 1400 series crankset; the rear derailleur uses a heavier steel cage, rather than alloy or carbon; the cassette cogs ...

So what was the brand of the starter and where did you buy it. How much was it and now after a year how is it working
the brand is caltric and it was bought on Ebay/amazon it was around 40 bucks and still working great .
Did the screw you loosen with the pneumatic gun come out so easily???
No power when turning the key. Does changing these 2 parts solve that problem?
It mite be my phone but i cant hear buggerall.
Thanks bro did mines worked perfectly
thank you so much! very helpful
I've got a 2010 fsr elite and even 13 years later it's a great bike. never plan on selling it
How were you finally able to get the stator inside of the housing? I'm currently having trouble as well, I even used the screws partially set to help guide me in. Thanks!
Awesome video man, think I'm going to have to do this to my 99' 750. What was your battery voltage reading at idle before the repair and then after? Did it solve your problems.
So after alot of research I found out that this particular bike does not charge at idle because of how the stator is built. It charge great after 2k rpm so if you're not charging at idle it should be okay as long as you're getting 13 to 14 volts at around 2k rpm.
Where did you got the parts ?
they were bought on ebay
@@overthebars5954hey I have one like this I bought rotor and all but the glue that holds the rotor together (copper coil) comes apart a bit did that happen with you too thanks ?
Just found one on marketplace for 330,just needs a rear shock service!
I ordered these yesterday for my norco sight. I was using one up, but want to try these with a beautiful neon green..hopefully they are ok! Hmm I don’t like the idea of them being slippery..I need the pegs to be good grip for my shoes..Thank you for the review
Hey, do you have any comments on the drive train? Is it difficult to climb with?
Kickass pedals. I just got them for my 2001 rocky mountain
I bought one today 1400.00 thanks to inflation in 2022 , Everything is nuts in price now, you will not find fuck all for 500 these days.
😳
You gotta ask how much improvement can be done over the years? Not much has changed over the years. Frames look a little different. Shock placement hasn’t really changed much. Any Specialized like other manufacturers have to make small visual changes to keep selling bikes. I highly doubt these minor changes equal any better or significant performance on the trails.
I bought my 2010 fsr comp 2 months ago And I love it, very worth it for $820 that I paid with a X1 conversion a dropper post, carbon bars and good Maxxis tires
I would not buy an mtb with small wheels, without boost and other sweet things. For sure, older mtb's can give you as much fun as a new one.
Just found one for $1000 should I get
Depending your area you should be able to find one that's alittle better and a 27.5 for around 1200 to 1500. If I was to make the decision now I would probably wait and save alittle more to buy something like a diamondback mission 1 which is much better in my opinion and they are pretty budget friendly.
Dupont Ridgeline is so much better.
I run 2008 stumpjumper expert in 2020
2002 s works fsr for me lol
1:00 why is that derailleur cable so long? That's going to catch on something. Also 1:35 the chain is sagging waaay too much. It looks like a derailleur pulley is missing. I agree with you that a bike of this vintage is still a perfectly good bike as long as you manage expectations. If you're expecting to get into this sport and hang with your buddies that ride newer 29" trail bikes then your probably going to be disappointed. If your main goal is to go have fun mountain biking on your favorite local trails and you're not looking to impress others then this will get you there just fine.
I run a 2007 stumpjumper fsr elite in 2020
I'm looking at a 2009 Frs Xc comp. He is asking $800 for it. Is it worth it?
@@theelusiveone147 got mine for 900$. maybe try to negotiate a bit
Diego Campos he had it up for $900 and he said $800 is his lowest
Never sized the chain..
I just got 2010 Stumpy in 2020.. Hope it’s worth it!
I just bought a 2013 frame for a build up!
Justin Williams how much did you pay for it I’m in the same boat curious what other people are paying
@@richardgemmell799 I paid $1,100. Bule book says a full bike sells for around $3k so I was okay paying that amount. The biggest part I'm gambling on is the brain. If it doesn't work I might be going the rear shock conversion.
There's someone who is selling it at 750. I wonder if it's a good call.
If it's local and you can check it out I would say take a look.
Shorter that rear mech cable!
In other words I would like to buy the large even though I ride M
I've seen one online for 800 is a 2017 but is a large I ride Medium but I was looking at the measurements and it looks like the RUclips is short like one size down would you say it feels a little small
how tall are you? it depends i should really be riding a M but i dont like how i feel on a M thats why i ride L. My new bike is a banshee spitfire and its a Large but it feels much smaller than the Diamondback L on the mission. if youre around 5' 8" to maybe even 6ft the L should be just fine.

I got a mint 2009 one in blue and I love it, super comfy and came with crisp conti's and it only cost me 450 pounds
Why does my pedals hit the ground too often? Can I change the wheels to 27.5?
no, but you can time your pedal strive when you're going through rocky places to stay high.
Yes you can put 27.5 wheelset. Make sure to use proper rear tire to avoid rubbing the seat stay bridge.
You can also get shorter crank arms
Your suspension might be to stiff
It's all in the detail.
I ride the Sirrus, carbon sport 2017. Chester pedals since day one. Perfect match.
The track...what was that?
my foot hits the rear mechanical on my Marin nail trail with sramnx 11
is it free?
SudoNix yes it is, I think they have a donation box but I’m not sure.
Over The Bars I actually just went ahead and ride it yesterday lol. It's not bad. A lot of work for not a lot of fun. Reminds me of enterprise South.
SudoNix yeah it’s not that exciting but all in all I probably would go back and ride it. Bear creek is pretty good, also if you want to drive go to cold water Alabama they have one of my favorite trail system there.
Dude. You are locking out your elbows when you ride. I suggest bending your elbows and have more weight forward. Your bent elbows will also give you a more relaxed ride so your body doesn’t take all the jolts and hits. More weight on the front will reduce chances of that dreaded slide out with front tire. Be safe! Enjoyed your video.
How tall are you and what size frame did you get please?
Jesse Bolado im about 5’9” and it’s a large frame.
Hi jesse, I really need to talk with you about the size and performance of the bike in that size. Is it possible for me to share a direct contact with you?
Buy some safety builder glasses cheaply and you won't have mud in your eyes ;)
Sure, it worth it. I have 2010 Stumpy FSR. 26' are fine for me. The Spec frame with FSR is nice and durable. RS Revelation with 140mm is ok. Changed Fox Triad to RS Monarch, changed the stock DT Swiss wheels to Roval Control. Rolls good.
Can you put a normal shock on instead of the brain? Was not sure there was enough room. I am looking at a epic that is mint except the brain doesn’t work.
What is the song in the soundtrack?

Nahu Bastias glad you liked it 🤙
Nice camera work 🤙
what trail is this? grizzly?
its a mixture of all the trails within the trail system. I have a longer video with the names of the trails i was on.
Cool👍
buen video bro
Gracias!
Very nicely done vid.
Thanks, Glad you liked it.
Yes, it is well worth it. In 2014 got a 2010 Stumpjumper elite frame (with out the brain) from a local dealer and decided to build it up with 2015 Shimano XT 2x10 drivetrain, Shimano SLX brakes, Kore handlebar, specialized command post blacklite, 26" Fox Evolution 140mm fork and WTB frequency i23 "650B WHEELS". Got the shock rebuild by Fox Racing in California thanks to my local dealer. The only limitation is the rear tire because of the space but with 2.0 Kenda's Slant Six rear tire combine with Panaracer Neo Moto Pacenti 27.5"x 2.3" at the front works perfect. I do have it as a secondary and loaner bike. Yes I did spend some $ building but if you find one in good condition with the right price that only need a service go for it.
