At Skånes finest C64-party Gubbdata 2019 in Lund I entered the competition with a 2 SID music entry. It competed in "Other Platform Compo - Music" against 3 other entries (all Amiga modules) and came first place. Thanks to Hedning & co for arranging the party and extra thanks to Scenesat (see: scenesat.com/videoarchive ) for the permission to use the videoclip. Camel Ohio @ Soundcloud: soundclo...
Tapper gameplay on Commodore 64
Просмотров 2689 лет назад
I'm playing a round of Tapper on my Commodore 64. Tapper is an arcade game developed by Marvin Glass and Associates and released in the arcade halls in 1983 by Bally Midway. The C64-version was developed by Beck-Tech and released in 1984 by Sega. Such a great game in my opinion! Playing on "Expert" settings until returning back to the old west bar. First 1.5 minutes of gameplay removed for leng...

Live jamming in Renoise
Просмотров 29 тыс.16 лет назад
A quickie video of how I play around with Renoise and use it in a 'live' situation.
Demential c64 dual sid. I think it s the best dual sid on c64 Groovy. The musician is a Real artist...fabulous..
I guess thats the best daw live jam Ive seen on yt
Killer stuff bro :)
Good stuff :^)
A tutorial please!! Thanks a lot
A tutorial on what exactly? :)
@@platimatic how to trigger samples or patterns (midi or audio) and how to use the numkeys like you are doing, thanks!!!
@@danbad1380 I used the numkeys to toggle muting of the tracks. It's already setup like this by default (but with CTRL+numkey I think, from memory), I just changed them to track 1 to numkey 0, track 2 to numkey 1 and so on). That's really it, then changing the patterns and turn pattern looping on /off using the mouse. No sample triggering otherwise. Hope that helps.
@@platimatic thanks a lot!
This is great music! :) good job man!
Thanks! :)
i have listened to your soundcloud productions. You are talented. Why don't you release your music?
Thanks! There are several answers to that, one is that I am more inspired by programming for retro computers at the moment. Music and programming have basically been my hobbies since I was a kid with alternating priorities and for the last few years programming has taken priority. The second answer is that to go anywhere with music takes not only talent but persistent dedication and a lot of self-promotion. I'm just not that interested in doing that right now. Bonus answer is that the acoustics in my current apartment sucks, which doesn't help either! :D
...did you actually simulate the vowel sounds of the lyrics?!?
Not really, just playing the melody of the voices. The instrument is pulse-width modulated, which is probably what you're thinking of.
so did this song ever got released? is there a better q version out there? a soundcloud page perhaps?
No, wasn't released in any other form. I don't think I ever arranged it completely - just a couple of patterns that I played around with, like in this video. Some of my other dance-music productions are at soundcloud.com/platimatic
cheers, bro. Checked and followed, if you care I'm soundcloud.com/tatmo. That sandro_plafoon tracks are more the type of music you might be into. EDIT: I'm imagining actual vocals would be good, instead of that sample.
I like that you DJ/Launchpad with your keyboard, instead of triggering samples/synths with keypresses
80-90s disco style :)
renoise + reason ftw :)
renoise in the mix - nice one - you could build a set with that sjit- just a little more live fx fiddling and one more interface, that would be dope... hah, mixing with 2 x renoise
It's simply perfect.
renoise reminds me of those old school tracker days..... fast tracker and skale tracker etc.... great vid btw
@ZedekOfLP101 'Sallright.
@ZedekOfLP101 What? I didn't mean to imply that higher priced things are better... Maybe you mistook my comment for sarcasm? Sorry of so, Renoise really is an awesome app, possibly my favorite.
Great beat
@ZedekOfLP101 Renoise: The best DAW around. Oh - and get this - it's CHEAP. YEAH I KNOW RIGHT
that´s..... cool
great !!
nice jam!!!
@soundcrumbs that's true for the new shit, but not for an old fairlight or EMU or a Roland D 50 from the 80's, back in time computer was not rulling the buiness like now.
@Meteotrance Digital hardware is just software in a luxurious container...
Glad you enjoyed it. :)
That WAS AWESOME. *CLAPS MADDLY*
@Meteotrance No hardware compressor were used. I use the Drawmer for recording vocals (but not used in this track either). The sidechain-effect you hear in the track is SideKickv3 (a vst-effect). Renoise is my main tool for 5 years but I'm trying to get into Live as well. Whatever rocks your boat and get creativity flowing, I don't take any side when it comes to that. =)
what kind of hardware compressor did you used ? I think i reconized a Drawmer of course your sound well your config is half good hardware ( and hardware sound always better usualy...) and half nice tracker program, the only tracker i used on pc is modplug tracker for doing kind of oldschool chiptune track, but this Renoise look realy like a super Ableton or Reason especialy the last one if you used Reaper with a Rewire ^^.
@ZedekOfLP101 obviously yes, you struck the 'arrogant know-nothing talking out of his ass in an attempt to make himself feel better about his poor choice of daw' nerve.
@ZedekOfLP101 oh im sorry, you did explain, trackers are 'more accurate' because 'you basically program your music' in them. haha what a load of bullshit. so what you mean to be suggesting is that trackers are more accurate because instead of clicking in midi notes like on a timeline daw you type in sample names...and of course, typing is much more computery and impressive than clicking so it must be 'more accurate'... if you wanna program music learn super collider and get serious...
@ZedekOfLP101 hmm... so what is it about a tracker that makes it 'more accurate'? what exactly are you talking about? have you done some sort of in depth timing experiments on all the popular daws? my guess is no, youre just hating on apps that you dont like for some reason.
@ZedekOfLP101 hahaha, if you think ableton (or reason for that matter) is shitty you definetly have never taken the time to learn it very well. renoise is basically just the arrangement view from ableton, theyre strikingly similar.
@Globalassinator I was building 30 minute livesets on an amiga with octamed. Renoise could probably bring a warehouse to its knees until sunrise.
@padperson Cheers!
Sounds great. well done!
sounds very professional. top effort. You've really got everything co-operating in the mix there.
you are the king of trackers - med din supertalang finns det ingen giltig anledning längre att vara en undernärd musiker ;-)
@Globalassinator yes in the new renoise 2.6 beta
@platimatic ah ok :)
@djterrabyte You probably misunderstood the way I used the word delay.. It's an echo-box I'm referring to.
@platimatic you can fix every delay to about 1ms with the correct audio ASIO driver and soundcard, trust me! I have a SB Audigy 2 and it ROCKS with Renoise and Win7 64 bit.
Cool video, Used to love doing this on Octamed v3
Thanks, all Renoise, just that hardware delay I'm fiddling with towards the end, that's it.
Nice Rack, is it just renoise soft synths or are you using your Midi Rack also?
@franc1s, it's already setup this way, just reassigned the keys.
hey, this is sweet, it looks like your muting/unmuting the tracks with the numbers on keyboard, how do you setup renoise to do this?
For anyone else wondering how to do this.. You can assign keys to different things in the menu file>preferences>keys
haha this is exactly how i dj with renoise also. endless possibilities...
But is it possible to build an entire liveset in Renoise?
