I saw it last night I enjoyed it. I did not watch the 1 st live action movie enjoyed it tbh.

I disagree from your points on many levels but honesty i watched it dubbed in hindi because the trailer looked way better in hindi. The dubbing artist have done justification to the characters, especially the voice of kiros and scars mother (ashima). Additionally there was a point of sarabi just falling in love but she was extremely impressed by his ability to hunt and guess things from smell. Though from the previous movies this takes away the evilness from scar it still activates your thinking and interpret for yourself.

I HATE the trend that's going on with villains, nowadays. Let me be clear I do not hate redeemed villains when their story actually make sens and are well written (Zuko is the perfect example of a good redeemed villain, in my opinion). But why are they making every single one of them now two dimensional ? Because it's a trend to get MONEY, but the problem is that it also excuse bad behaviors oh I don't know : killing someone, trying to rule the world, abandoning someone. I feel nowadays it's just okay in movies to be the villains, you get more credits than the hero, you're adored and you're excused for everything you do : my question are how are they even villains anymore ?

Mufassa was awesome, taka and mufassa were children and mufassa didn't understand the mistreatment he was a lost cub who was made to feel protected by sheji not a 5 yr old kid who just wants his mommy, he's an animal. You're giving current disney too much power. They don't have the ability to destroy the original in any way. They can't change what the original creators made. Scar and mufasa ARE biological brothers. it has already been established in the original, and that's all that matters

Clickbait title garbage. None of you have to like the movie, and it does deviate from what we're used to, but to say "everything about this is a failure" shows a lack of critical thinking and open-mindedness. If you didn't want any surprises, it's easy enough to not go see the movie. If they make something new, they have a chance to play with the plot and actually say something interesting, which is the point of art and creativity. People want individuality and then bash it every time someone does something different. You're forgetting everything they had been through up until that point, and that different personalities are weak in the face of adversity. In the movie, Taka had time and time again failed to stand up and do the "right thing." He wasn't kingly at all, but he had been raised to think it was his birthright to be handed to him. Up until his turning point, he had lost his family, his home, and his assurance of his place as king. Look too at the underhanded way his father Obasi had raised him, at all the revolting, insecure lessons he had passed down to him. Meanwhile, Mufasa (who already had a positive family background) spent all his time with Eshe, who was a much stronger leader in her own right. The weak lion became weaker, the strong lion became stronger. Even look at the lyrics of the brother song they sing as cubs: Taka thought having a brother meant someone who would support him no matter what, who would obey him and always take his side. That's not what a good leader wants! It wasn’t “just” that his crush was taken….it was the final straw in a series of hardships that he didn’t have the skills to overcome. Taka was always a coward. This was the way he saw out of it to get his “rightful” place as king back, and get revenge on Mufasa, the one who betrayed him, took his queen, and was on his way to becoming a leader, despite the fact that Mufasa didn’t do any of it maliciously. Honestly, the movie isn’t the problem. Everyone’s critical thinking skills and empathy are the problem.

You can't add "Moral Ambiguity" to the Jedi and Sith. George always intended Star Wars to be black and white morality. The rebels are good and the Empire is evil. The Jedi are good and the Sith are evil. There can never be such a thing as a "good" Sith, being morally 'good' is a complete antithesis to how the Dark Side works. Dave Filoni and Disney just wants to make all the good factions (Jedi, the Rebels and the New Republic) evil. TCW started it with Dave being a fraud who wanted to inject his own fanfic into SW, and Disney keeps doing it because they hate having morally good groups and factions.

In the EU when when Jacen Solo turned to the Dark Side and killed Luke's wife Mara, Luke still wanted to save Jacen. When an Imperial Inquisitor, Brakiss was was ordered to infiltrate the New Jedi Order, Luke immediately saw through Brakiss; but he wanted to try to turn Brakiss good. I think what seals the deal for me with Stayed Gone is Alastors voice. I do have a soft spot for swing jazz, and Alastors radio voice just adds to old timey jazz feel for me. I'll defend Welcome to Heaven a bit. It being bland, sterile, vanilla, SAFE, I think works for what some perceptions of Heaven as a whole would be. Its a great contrast to Hells more outrageous and bombastic feel.
