I have one question that is baffling me and I am unable to get the signing face to work. I noticed at the beginning of your video you created the musical sequence and a the name "bing" was populated in the timing track box. That did not happen for me, I've created and renamed timing tracks and my dropdown does not work. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? I followed the same steps as you to create the musical sequence and can do all the steps but I don't get any names in the timing track selection box. HELP!!!

I am not seeing the "Set Group Count" option. I am using a PC and running xLights version 2023.18. Was that feature removed or renamed?

A tip with using the solder seals. Pop the seal over a wire, push the strands of the 2 wires towards each other so the wires splay through each other. This will leave you with 2 diagonal fan splays of the strands. Twist each fan splay in opposite directions. Then pop the solder seal over the twisted together wire and heat your seal. This will provide a stronger mechanical joint.

Thanks for the tutorial. In your supply list, you call for a DC 24V to DC 12V 10A 120W Step Down Buck Converter. Your diagram at 10:08 shows concerting the 12v down to 5v for your FM receiver. Wouldn't you need a 12v to 5v converter or remove need for converter by powering via USB?

Very helpful but the channel count is confusing me. When you look at the visualizer around 1:39 it shows the channel start as 9187 and the channel end as 9216, only 29 channels. Shouldn't the channel count be (10*6*3) 180 for this example?

Nice video, but regarding you installing the antenna in Part 2. I do not see it in the parts listed, does it come with the receiver? I looked at Amazon, but it is not clear if it does and I could not find the same type with the mount you are using.

I want to give a thumbs up, however I am torn on the decision. Though a good informative video(s) - both part 1 and part 2, it leaves me looking for the missing video. What happened before PART 1??? I see the components you used and there are links(?) I think, but you just jump into placement of components with no explanation about these components or even a schematic for reference. Nice build video, but it just leaves me wanting a little more guidance on the initial components (FM receiver, etc.) hidden or assumed unless it is a secret and you are just showing off so to speak. Hopefully a third video is being considered or just a schematic link provided so we can successfully use the information given in part 1 and 2.

This is probably the best tutorial I've ever seen on this hobby. What you have laid bare here in a 15 minute video took me months worth of research scouring dozens of videos, gleaning information, and filling in the gaps as I went along. Very thorough showcase of the various tools that come in handy and the techniques one can use to make life easier. Bravo. I would love if you did a video on controller boxes similar to this - specifically the different options when it comes to cable glands, getting power and network into the box, etc

agreed, I do my house outlines at spacing of 90 to 95mm (just over 3.5 inches) on my house, and I'm over 100 metres from the road.... looks almost like 25mm spacing for something close to the road, but with one third the amount of pixels, and therefore power supply/power injection requirements reduced.
