Tamarack Angler hatch replacement // waterproof hatches on kayak
Hey do you remember which #reef you fished?
You lost hp with that kit. Dyno proven. But, if you like it, who cares. Oh, and the sound tube DOES NOT make FAKE noise. There is nothing inside of it making a fake noise. It channels a bit of REAL engine noise into the cabin because the cabin is so well sealed.
Tutorial
2:39 "..there's a lot here in this, nigga!" I heard what I heard.
Whats the location?
underwater
"I don't wanna break your car" you did the right thing bro because those damn plastic clips holding the genesis bumper on right there break so easily. I found a good youtube vid where the guy shows how to lift from the bottom of the bumper on that side while pulling out and up I think to get it off without breaking the clip . To be honest I think sooner or later it will break so I'm looking into getting those bumper quick release things to prepare for it.
They sure are fragile!
Stock downpipe?
no, ark H pipes
Lizards are better than going skunk 😂
they're a pain to get off treble hooks!
How far were the reefs offshore ?
They’re close, like 1,000 ft, takes less than 5 min to paddle to
@@fisherman3210 good to know I’ll be fishing then soon I’m moving out that way
How did you mount it to the kayak? Looks great man
I took the faceplate off and used marine goop to glue in place, then snapped it back in. 5 yrs later it’s still holding up!
Totally jealous!...I've crossed the Suwannee dozens of times, and I've always thought it'd be a great paddle trip and overnight. Enjoyed...beautiful scenery and awesome trip. Stay Safe!
It’s definitely one of my favorites! Appreciate the kind comments.
Bro, I love my Shearwater. I sold my original j2 to my buddy. I upgraded to the PP-767 J2 Bixpy. I plug my deck, with the casserte and teather my fin drive. It's a fast boat. 💯 🛶 🎣
Me too, I love the stability and the seat. Very nice, I use the fin drive with the bixpy at the same time. Did you see they’re going to release an updated shearwater at the end of the summer? It will have a big hatch at the front, along with other updates, all new hull design.
sir, where should I solder the black and red wires from the fan?
I used a multimeter to find 12V on the board and soldered to that
Good music, good editing, good fishing 😊
Appreciate it!
Awesome content! Do you usually use a stronger in saltwater? I’m scared of sharks down here.
Yeah I always use a stringer. To be honest I’ve only ever had a bull shark look at my stringer once, and he didn’t touch the fish.
Such a bastard.... use your lungs
You free-dive?
Are these plug in play or did you have to buy some type of harness along with it to make this fit in the BK2 Genny?
It’s not plug & play, I made my own harness.
Thanks this is literally the same badge I have to restore... Lol!
The rain on the second night must have been so relaxing while you are tucked up in your hammocks. Looks like it was a great trip.
It really was! There was heavy rain almost all night long, it put us both to sleep. Excellent trip overall!
@@fisherman3210 Awesome
I did this same thing but mine rusted within a couple months.
I used stainless steel ones, they held up fine for the time I had them on, but now I’ve got an SAI rudder so I don’t need the quick disconnects
how much of a pain in the ass was the install of the rectangular hatch i really like that idea for a battery storage
pretty easy, just used a jigsaw to cut out the template, i did have to use extra bolts on the outside connected through the frame and lid to make it sit flush so it was waterproof
Awesome video. No explanation needed!
Check out the newer version if you want a lighter stronger one; I broke the flagpole holders in rough surf coming back in. v2 is all aluminum and bulletproof
Thank you for this info!!
New sub! Liked 🙏😀😊😄
Appreciate it!
Do you have a parts list with links that you can share. Thanks.

My thought also...put the trolling motor on the outrigger, except put a second trolling motor on the other side
It would honestly be unnecessary weight and 2x the power draw on the battery for little speed gain.
Hey bro, I actually had bought my bixpy before my shearwater, because I knew I'd be waiting a year, and I also purchased the fins. But if you plug the deck, my boat has reached over 5.3 mph. However I'm in my 2nd season, still adding more fishing gear. And I'm 5ft 7" 151 lbs. But that boat is extremely fast in open water. 😎 🎣 stay safe bro.
Sweet I haven’t tried it plugging the deck; it flies using the bixpy and peddling at the same time
@@fisherman3210 yeah, definitely either put in the pod or use a template, and use black pvc board, and secure it. It'll stop alot of drag and stop the water, from coming up through the deck. Good luck bro, and awsome kayak. Love 🙏 😎
Good video. Liked and subbed.
Appreciate it!
Great idea man, definitely going to go this route!
Appreciate it!
The motor working through the grass probably didn’t help.
it was actually deep enough that the grass wasn't touching the Bixpy, its just deceptive here in the video, theres a good foot between the bixpy and the grass.
Can u give tell me where can I buy this
I bought mine on eBay because it was the best price by far, just search in google & you’ll find the best prices
Thanks my G
By the way don't u need a tuni for this
@@idyking2215 no, no tune is needed
@@fisherman3210 thanks my G 😊
Hi do you have the link where you got the foam sealant or the size of it? Thank you.
It’s 10mm wide x 5mm thick
@@fisherman3210 Thanks
I have seen a lot of outrigger set ups that use the Boat Bumper inflatables as the float but I always thought they were too small. With you adding the extra floats it has just confirmed this.
i actually only put the crap pot floats on incase i got a hole in the boat bumper, the boat bumper alone has an incredible amount of bouyancy
nice video✌liked & subscribed, thanks for sharing😀
Appreciate it!
Great spot, have you tried it in the keys?
not camping no, although i go to the keys on a regular basis fishing and scuba diving!
Is that cold or short ram intake? I've got a k&n typhoon short ram intake and planning to do it....but cant find a good tutorial. Please let me know if it's gonna worth installing the intake I have. Thank you 🙏
It's a short ram intake
@@fisherman3210 sorry for bothering, got 1 more question, what equipment were you using to install the intake?
@@abulhashem-jc9mv Just a regular socket set, a flatblade screwdriver and a philips screwdriver.
Please!!! PLEASE!! Show how to make them... I have the same kayak and really can't find any that arnt inflatable 🤦
It’s 1” alloy into 1.5” alloy, I used pvc at the end to attach to the floats with a metal rod inside for rigidity; inside the kayak there’s also aluminum bars to disperse the weight over the kayak hull
@@fisherman3210 what are the floats??
how long should you wait for the touch up to dry before sanding?
I was just thinking how you can add outriggers and trolling motor on same bar
Won’t rust either using alloy
@@fisherman3210 how expensive is alloy
@@joshfarris5593 not much more than steel, I bought these from Home Depot
@@fisherman3210 that’s buddy I’ll go check it out I’m thinking about putting a 2”” square piece in right behind the set for main piece! Then attach some 1 3/4 inside from outriggers arms! Maybe try a screw and wing nut so I can detach them for when I’m traveling! Brilliant idea man thanks for sharing
You should have shown the removal of the dip from the center of the wing. Was it easy?
Yeah just use a toothpick, just don’t let it dry fully
No BMS??
Wasn’t needed for my application, I just had a volt meter built into each waterproof box to see the voltage of each bank
what size are those? do you have a link?
They’re seaflo 8” hatches
@@fisherman3210 thank you
What size hatch did you use to replace the old ones?
They’re seaflo 8” hatches
Woow woow 😍💋 💝💖❤️
Hi Thank you for sharing, which sandpaper did you use, 5000grit?
Hi there, I finished with 5,000 grit but started out using 4,000
Great job, man. Wish that you could have talked a little louder but the overall design is fairly easy to understand. Thanks
sorry had my gopro in the waterproof housing in case i fell in, yeah designs still working for me 4 yrs later and i slam through some rough surf in it, appreciate the feedback.
I have a question, did the engine light come on after you installed this? if yes what did you do to get rid of it
Lo-fi Ari no it didn’t come on, if yours came on then you did something wrong
fisherman3210 oh ok, I haven’t installed yet, I was just wondering if it did
Caught your pb in that pond?......... 😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂
Daniel Collier there’s some monsters 😂
Cool. I have 2016 Genesis Coupe
Hey I know you uploaded this video a while ago but did you just leave the top hoe without really tightening it? I recently got the same intake but the hoe comes off extremely easily as soon as I pull it
Geronimo Pena no, everything is tight and you can tug on everything and nothing will come loose
