    In the states we have heritage properties known as historical landmarks. Sometimes upkeep is unaffordable to the owners because only certain craftsman and companies are authorized to perform repairs to them. So, they rot and fall down instead.

    Not Thistles its called Gorse which is a invasive weed and the main road used to go under the small bridge until the nineties from memory, drove under it many times on my way to Venus Bay.I enjoyed your walk around never knew there was a coal mine there.

    • @1ihws
      @1ihws 29 дней назад

      And that gorse used to cover most of what is now residential housing estates at Phillip Island, and all along the rail trail to Wonthaggi…only brave and/or crazy people live at Kily, or the smaller towns of Dalyston, Archies Creek, Outrim, etc - that end of south western gippsland is “pretty” and really bloody “ugly”, all at the same time - but you’d have to have lived in the area to know it for what it really is - “cold, wet, boghole in the middle of bumfuck nowhere”!

      @@pierresadventures7371 Try the find the old railway map online, you could find all the old railway routs, many of them coverted to bike trails, but some go thought the private property or farm land, those around the gold field in the north west area are much open and accessible for long ride.
