If I get a really tiny hamster, and make him some really tiny shoes made from really tiny patches of chamois cloth, and put a few drops of 99% isopropyl on his tiny shoes, then let him run on the video head wheel for a while, would that be effective to clean the heads? It would serve two purposes at once, getting the head clean, and getting the really tiny hamster some exercise. Thoughts?

It’s cool to see this video as I am a senior graduating this year as class of 2024 at Canfield and this school looks almost the exact same. The hallways and classrooms look identical, but updated with newer computers of course. The lunch room looks the same except it has some designs and isn’t super basic and the tables are different. Still the school is still 90% the same from this video and it’s so cool in this to see all the people talking standing out in the halls and it looks like a completely different environment where everyone enjoyed each other. I wish it was still the same

Thank you for the video, but I fear I might have messed up the camcorder. I ripped one home video, before thinking it needed some cleaning. So I followed the procedure, even buying the same wipes. Now I'm getting loud scratching noises and broken images with color lines throughout. Any idea what I might have done wrong?

Also with 99% Isopropyl you don't need to wait more than a couple of minutes.

I think you can just remove the two screws on the panel on the door. But this works too.

Thanks for posting this video. I have a 27 year old Canon UC4500E which uses the older 8mm tapes (often called video 8 tapes I think). They are larger than the MiniDV 8 mm tapes. I'm currently digitising old VHS taps and old MiniDV tapes successfully but the Canon UC4500E plays the video images fine but I'm getting no audio at all. It's not crackly or distorted audio but actually no audio at all. Is it possible that cleaning the heads the way shown in this post could help with non-existent audio? The camera manual says to clean the heads using a Canon CC-8 Video Head Cleaning Cassette and to not use a wet-type cleaning cassette as this can cause damage. Is this because my 8mm tapes are analogue and not digital so they are not metal tapes and using the isopropyl alcohol would do damage to the heads in my camera? There is no audio on playback on the video camera but also no audio when playing the videos on the computer using Elgato video capture software either. These are precious videos of my sons as toddlers and I'm desperate to get them digitised. Any thoughts/advise would be really appreciated. Thanks

I wouldn't rest the stick on the table. If it catches some dirt the head gets damaged. I would blow some air in and close it right away. Iso evaporates quickly

(On mine there is no errors it just spits out the tape after the light flashes? There ant alot of places on the web anymore to find out why, I figured id ask you. Thanks again great video!

When I was 15 in 2000 my dad bought me this exact bike from this old man who bought it brand new. He only drove it the first year then it sat in his garage for 26 years. Every spring he would drain the fuel out and put fresh fuel in, change the oil, it was always covered up, he started it up every couple months and cleaned it. The bike only had a few hundred miles on it still looked brand new not a scratch on it. My dad paid 500 bucks for it and within a few weeks of driving it on the old railroad bed I smashed the turn signals off l, rolled it down a hill smashed the gas tank and then did a few clutch dumps at wide open throttle and the last one as soon as I let go of the clutch the bike didn’t do anything didn’t jerk didn’t move at all from that like 14,000 rpm clutch drop lol it just didn’t move at all after. Ended up selling it for the 500 bucks my dad paid for it and it sold very fast. The guy that bought it wanted it because he had one as a kid and told me how his was brand new and he hasn’t been able to find one in good shape. I told him how this was like brand new 3 weeks ago and he was like man I wish I could have bought it before you wrecked it. I’m sure there are some of these bikes out there that are basically brand new like never have been started but as far as this exact bike goes it was definitely one of the lowest mileage cleanest all original cb200’s other then one that was never driven. It still had the original tires the only thing that was ever changed was the battery but it came with the original battery that the owner had drained out the acid many years ago so more then likely could have filled with acid and had the original battery. I keep thinking in my head it had 200 miles on it but now I’m thinking it had 100 miles but regardless it was low. I mean even the kick stand had no wear on it and the exhaust pipes were still chrome when I got it the bike never ran long enough or driven hard enough to make the chrome turn blue from heat. I know it’s not a desirable bike it’s not worth a ton of money but man if I could go back in time I would have kept that bike stored away and never drove it! It really would have been a bike worthy of being in a museum one day. On a good note atleast it wasn’t a one of a kind priceless bike that I destroyed lol.

Fantastic video, Nicholas! I can't believe how my camcorder came back to life! It took me about 5 minutes to disassemble the cover and a couple minutes to clean the head - and I am 0% mechanically inclined. Thank you!

8mm tape is metal. It will not dissolve with any cleaner. It needs to be cleaned off by mechanical means. Either a dry cleaning or the back side of your fingernail as I have shown many times. Your fingernail is just the right hardness to dislodge the debris without damaging the head and can be done while the machine in in operation. I learned this trick during my 20 year employment working for a large Sony warranty center. Alcohol may remove other contaminants such as tar and nicotine that adheres to all the parts if the recorder is stored or used in smoky environments but will no nothing to clear a clogged head. The dry type cleaning tape made by the manufactures is the best and safest method. The same applies for DAT and DV tape decks as they all use metal tape and alcohol will not dissolve metal particles, only oxide type tape.

I got me baby formula for my 5 day old adopted son Ashton and he is a baby a preemie and he needs it more then teenagers drinking it and throwing it up that’s such a waste of formula babies really need it lien my baby my adopted baby son he had to stay in the Nicu for a while and he’s been home with me and this Thursday he will be 6 days old and you boys don’t need it your not a baby at all and my adopted son Ashton James seavey Barr he was born at 27 weeks and he weighs 4lbs and 50z 17inches long and he needs the formula and i adopted him from a teen mom and my adopted son Ashton need’s baby formula then you teenagers

Not a fan of the handlebars, but the front-end is nice. I got a 550 myself and plan on swapping a 600rr front. I also like the original seat. Nice!
