Yup, they make the customer they know doesn’t have the money tear down the engine on their dime. Forcing the consumer out of the claim. Had one tell us they needed the piston rings in hand before they'd approve yhe turbo's of an F150. Like they wanted us to strip the engine completely down to prove that excessive blow-by didn't make both turbos fail. Then put it all back together IF approved without even new gaskets!!! 3rd party warranty companies are trash and criminal.

Yeah I have no clue what companies he's talking about. Toyota warranty never screws people over, the only thing about the warranty is that usually the limit of miles covered is just under the mileage where you would be likely to have more failures. So like yeah it's pointless to get a 5,000 mile warranty on a new car.

@@lylechipperson3407 toyota warranty wouldn’t be an aftermarket warranty (extended warranty). Aftermarket warranty’s are 3rd party companies with no ties to the manufacturer/dealer. Usually dealership warranty’s are great! And you can buy extended warranty’s from some dealers I believe. In my case it was just an aftermarket warranty company, which they are typically known for not clearing a bunch of work, but sometimes you can still get lucky like in my case lol

If I had a tech in my shop that had that piss poor attitude, he'd get one chance to learn how to act and correct himself. If he balked or did it again, he's loading his tools up on a truck and finding another job. If he doesn't like doing warranty work, then he needs to get to another shop that doesn't deal with new cars and warranty work. If he wants to cherry pick, then he can go work on a farm. When you tell a customer that their car will be done on that day, then you better make sure you hold true to your word.

I don't know where you live or what the job market looks like but where I live if you get fired/quit whatever as tech/mechanic etc you will have a job the next day probably making more. Most places around here only keep tech 1-2 years before they trade up. And that's if they trest the techs right, at the end of the day, the owner/manager is promising things to the customer and the tech has to deliver, if they aren't getting paid like the owner does why should they care? It's 2024...flat rate is a joke and a scam to fleece the customer and the employee. Especially warranty work.
