Great place. I was there the day Obama got elected. A very well run lodge and the meals were fantastic. The fishing was a little slow due to the high water but still good. We were met by a sexy Brazilian women with cocktails as soon as we step off the boat from fishing each day. It was two fisherman and a local native guide in a narrow jon boat. I was wondering the first day why they used such a narrow boat. I soon realized they took the boats right thru the jungle. We had to lay down somtimes. It looked like we were in a Florida swamp bu we would emerge in lagoon. It was adventurous. As soon as the boats returned a large caimen would come across the river waiting for guys to throw out the left overs from their lunch. We did have a scary moment when we were anchored casting towards the jungle about 80' away and a bus size swarm of killer bees flew by. Believe me we wen't moving. I was amazed that every thing in the river has teeth. You would throw a piece of bread in the water and it would boil till it was gone. This one place I definitely want to go back to.
I was the spike camper on the copper for rainbow king lodge in the late 90s. Had a tent up at fog lake. This trib of illiana is no joke. Loaded with hungry 22-28" beautiful rainbows. If God could fish, he'd fish the Situk and the copper. Is the xmas tree hole still producing? Is that it at :42 secs?

What’s a price on a trip I live on the kenai penisula and never sports fish besides ice fishing and silvers in the fall partillay cuz I commercial fish but I’d love to come here and check it out
good watch. viewers should keep in mind that there are 2 "copper river" systems in AK. This is the smaller copper river, NOT the copper river where the sockeye and kings famously get top dollar at the markets every spring. That copper river is clear on the other side of the state, closer to Cordova.
No kidding? I lived in Cordova. Bunch of asses live there! Got smart and moved to “real Alaska “.
Thanks for the info, I live in Chitina, the other Copper River and nothing looked familiar. We do have a few clear water streams that salmon spawn in as well as some Steelhead but nothing like that BB system.
@@brucegordon9007 I know a few people who live there. The 2 i was closest to have passed unfortunately. I'm not even sure what's happened to the couple with a beautiful property. ...used to be a bed and breakfast overlooking the river...mailbox that matched the house, if that is a clue for you.
