FESTOOL TOWER! Sys3 Systainer Rails for van racking
How do you get the measurements to read feet and inches, instead of feet and decimals?
@@thetruth7046 there is an option to change to fractions in the menu options.
Hello, which model is more powerful to work with? This 3453-20 or the 3453-22 model, what is the difference between the two???
The only thing compact about it is the battery
Well done Nate straight honest and to the point. I have and use an O L D DLR 130. I think it came over one the Mayflower. LOL. I could definitely us a bit of tech upgrade. The app function will be crazy helpful.
Does it allow you to select the unit of measurement (1/16,1/8,1/4, etc…)?
@@chazstevens-bq9ig yes you can change that depending on what your doing.
Nice
This is great video explaining this tool. He's definitely right about what to use it for and it definitely can't go above 1/2. I'm a maintenance technician of almost 6 years. I tried it out on concrete and it did the job but, it stopped alot. I had a milwaukee m12 brushed kit for my start of maintenance career. I dropped it used it to beat on things, it fell off a 5 foot ladder almost once a day and went out last year. I'm not sure why milwaukee sent me a m18 driver but hey they were awesome on the warranty to!
Thanks @nathandyer1934 the best of us put our tools atop ladders!
How do you measure the table top?
Howdy friend, assuming your talking about measuring something round. I have always found the center reference point and then used shims and painters tape to find the measurements. This gives the laser point something to land on that references the end. I use flat cedar shims for almost everything, tapered shims wouldn't really work. Hope that is what you meant. Take care!
@@realtoolboxreviews I just got a laser a few days ago and I love it, but it’s much easier to measure a rectangular free-standing item like a desktop with a tape. For everything else, the laser is a no-brainer!
It's not random orbital. It's just orbital. If it were random orbital then it would be a dual-action system, which it is not.
Does it work well with metal ?
I don’t deal with metal all that much but I don’t think this would be ideal for that.
Why you keep saying “ the drill”? It is an impact driver
At every impact drivers core is an anvil driven by a rotary drill motor. So you can call it whatever you want but, for me, it’s still a drill since it can drill holes. But it’s also an impact as well. So…
An impact driver is a drill
Its an orbital sander not a random Orbital sander
Is there a distsnce measurement tool measuring how long barge board, fascias From standing on the ground? I use for painting but am estimating it If you know what I mean
You can use it for that, I have used it to measure all sorts of things including estimates for siding installs. The green laser would be necessary because it lets you know when you are plumb and measuring straight to give you the best measurement.
@@realtoolboxreviews 👍 great thank you 😊
Would you be able to maybe show a video example Awesome job 👏
They will give you a new one money bags. Go get that lol
You know if you take it to Home Depot they replace with a new one it for free💀
Which one is outdoor use ?
I wouldn't be standing any drill on top of steps , bolt a tape measure holder to your steps and use the belt clip on the drill , I do it to all my steps
Great Review! I just subscribed just like everyone should! I am invested in the dewalt 20v platform but I really wanted the m12 fuel ratchet. I found a deal on the ratchet with this impact driver two 2ah batteries and a charger for $250 at home depot. They included a 2.5 ah battery in the deal and I used the home depot hack where I returned just the free battery and the entire kit cost me $180. I like my dewalt impact wrench but this is so tiny I am going to try to use it more to give it a chance!
Thanks! It’s compact size makes it ideal for almost anybody. It’s still running strong for me, glad you got a good price!
i use it for house repairs , can i drill occasionally a brick wall with it (6mm drill) ? and what about small metal drills like 5mm
So I wouldn’t recommend this for masonry. First it’s somewhat underpowered for that application. Typically you need a hammer drill to effectively drill masonry. Using a hammer drill will give you a cleaner hole and will not damage the brick as well.
Thank You
You stepped on it
My Bauer cordless detail sander cost just $20. and has dust collection
Probably will last as long as this one IMO, Bauer is getting better and better. Cheers friend!
I am drifting between Bosch GLM165 25G and Nivel System HDM-5G which has +-2mm accuracy margin but a manual measurement calibration? Can you give any arguments which one you would opt for?
I don’t know much about the Nivel system. But I will say that the 25g is a good laser and it’s withstood the beating I’ve put it through as an electrician. I know a lot of other trades people who use it as well. So it would get my vote.
I swear when you start use Metric a whole new world of simplicity and happines reveal upon you!!! No more 3/8, 6/18!!! No more thinking about WTF I mesure now!!! Metric simply 1, 10, 100, 1000. Thats all. Go with world!!! Be normal!!! 🤓
You speak truth, I am good with fractions but I am rare in that regard. My plumber buddy converted to metric a few years back and its incredible how easy it is for his workers to get it too.
Yes, I have been loving the metric system since 1970 or so. Of course, they could fix inches by making them decimal: 10th of inches, hundreds of inches, etcetera.
6/18" ? 1/3" I assume your looking for in simplest form? But yes metric is best for hobbyist. 🤓
Looking forward to adding this to the collection. Up front, you will pay a premium until you have a charger/batteries since they don’t kit any of their tools with discounts. Bare tools are much more reasonable after that point. I’d watch for their promos they offer and can save a lot of money as well. Nice video
I couldn’t agree more, I was slow to get Nuron until a few of my tools died. But it’s an incredible platform with unmatched service.
Anyone know how many screw it can drive before needing a recharge? Also how many screw the m18 can? Dont know if I should go m12 or m18, hoping 12
Depends on what you are driving, I use this drill as a electrician with the 5.0aH high output battery and it lasts all day. I use this for every single screw (self tapping, small screws, and bolting) and it lasts all day. I have two 5.0aH and those typically last all week for me. However, bolts and larger fasteners would drain even an M18 battery. Also, if you are going to carry this every day and always, the M12 is lighter and thus puts less load on you. Hope that helps, let me know if you need more info.
@@realtoolboxreviews think its enough for me, just don't want to change battery every 30 screws. Have a Makita 40v 4ah and never have to charge it after an day, only 1 to 2 bars down, but my arm and hip can still feel it when putting it down. Big time overbuy
@@dkviking Eeesh, those 40v tools are heavy so this one would be a good add.
You're trying to tell me that the impact couldn't put a whole into the wood, all the way way through? Come on man...
No matter what, this impact driver isn't a drill, not meant to be a drill, but can and will put perform any other leading brand on the market. It'll even do better than the bigger brother, 18V tools
Just cut your own pads, interface comes with higher end sanders
I have this laser and have nothing but issues with the battery error. I would not recommend
Is it able/easy to subtract (or add) a small offset from a bunch of measurements? for example, can i measure to an item and then subtract a recalled 2.5ft (or better have the measurement start with negative 2.5ft, always displaying the distance with the 2.5 subtracted). I need to do this hundreds of times from a fixed point with an offset. Do i enter the offset by making a measurement and then storing it, or is the manual enter process? I guess i could make a 2.5ft stick and attach it to that, but that would be a PITA.
Hi Larry, the MeasureON app can do that, it can store up to 100 or so measurements at a time. I still use a notepad for conduit cuts and what not. If an offset is needed, I manually do that. I usually have it set in the fraction mode which gives you a reading of 12 1/64 and not a decimal. I then add all that in and deduct any offsets. The stick idea is genius and I would recommend that. The measurement is from the back of the unit. One other guy I know uses this with a flat schim to create an offset, so similar process. Thanks for watching!
Use the 5.0 high output battery
That’s what I use daily and I rarely have to charge. Great setup, would highly recommend.
@7:30, your chart is wrong. You have an extra zero on your error column, so the worst error is 0.14, not 0.014. Not as accurate as you were thinking, but nonetheless only one measurement exceeds the promised +/- 1/16
how do i change the language from french to english. since the manual is a joke.
I honestly don’t know but there are number apps that can translate pages of text from a smart phone. The manual that comes with it is a total joke.
How much
Bought the one that's $100 with the red laser and it's a bad ass use it a lot in residential jobs, im an electrician
Why on earth would you be standing it up on top of a ladder? You're the safety issue not the drill. I don't even stand up 18v with big batteries. That's just asking for it.
Mistakes happen and everyone on earth makes them. I’ve left it on top of stuff I shouldn’t have and that was my reference.
Tape measure holder on the steps and use the belt clip on the drill to hang it done it to all my steps ,works well
Thanks for the review, very helpful.
Thanks for watching! Glad you found it helpful, great grinder!

I've got a radical idea for you. Why not try the sander on its intended use? Why does every review for this tool feature flat sanding of a detail free surface? A pointless waste of my time.
Thanks for watching and for the idea, much appreciated 👍🤩.
Just picked one of these up. I do piping layout for work. I'm excited to see how much time it's going to save me.
I hope it works out for you, it saved me a lot of time doing bids and for measuring framing layouts. Let me know, good pick up my friend!
You should shows it off by driving metal trims, metal door trashholds, metal weather strippings and metal to metal attachments. This is where impact drivers shines. Of course use self tapping screws and hex impact equiped drilling bits and accessories. It's where regular drills got scare to face, got bogged, or too cumbersome to use territories.
Would love to do that, in my work my company largely does metal framing and not much else. I didn't have any left over material to do that but impacts are incredible working with light duty metals, I 100% agree!
I highly recommended this type of tool for self tapping screws for metal trims, sheet metal, attachment to wood or metal structures. Amazing for fast drilling through 12-18 guage sheet metals with big named brands impact ready drilling bits. Including using it on high quality SS steel.
Is this the newest up to date tool .. to get in the M12?
why measure in feets? measure in pigeons. P.s. does plr-165 has any difference from plr-50?
You want to use an interface pad with mesh abrasives as the hooks from the hook and loop poke through the mesh and wear down; its kind of surprising that milwaukee didn't figure that out before they sold this guy, as the issue has been known since mesh pads for random orbitals came out and lots of people burned through $35-60 sander parts. Cheaper to replace the interface pad than the pad on the machine when they wear down (or your wife melts it).
Exactly, we got the product the day it was available so it was the first wave, they released this sander too quick.
I would definitely run that on a bigger battery. We use cordless Dewalt angle grinders and if they are on anything less than a 6 amp hour battery they don't seem to have enough power to get the job done.
I agree, I was kind of surprised when they sold us on the 85 watt battery, we use it heavily when doing rebar and it does okay. But you need two batteries in rotation which can get frustrating and time consuming. Appreciate you watching!
Everytime i see one is in the trash lol
😂
Almost everything Milwaukee that isn’t electric is garbage. Had 3 brand new T-25 bits snap off in the screw over a few weeks
And also had the same issue with the tape measure
My company has moved away from them for everything but tools. We had the same issue with bits.
Ive been in construction for over 40 years now and Stanley is the only brand ill ever buy
We’re now down to Stanley and Dewalt for tapes. Stanley is by far the best.
Most Milwaukee stuff is good, but they have made some garbage products. 95% of what they make. I think it’s very good quality. I always do my research before I buy anything. Sometimes Milwaukee isn’t the best.
You’re a smart consumer! I agree, we’ve had minor issues with tools. But many accessory items are not good.
