Very nice.
@@beerdrinker6452 thanks
Sincere respect. Very nice.
I would have never thought about a kitchen "garage" in a cargo trailer. Genius!
@beerdrinker6452 thank you!
Not a very good layout. You have to cook outside and you completely filled the inside with that ridiculous bed. This is one of the worst layouts I have seen on youtbe yet.
@uwuweewee Dang that's pretty hurtful. I worked really hard on this camper.
Nice job bro amazing build 👌
@@JohnDirk-ks9eb thanks!
That looks so badass. Im definitely doing this over buying a 15-20k teardrop
@NvrGoATM Thanks. Yeah, you should definitely build your own. Make it exactly the way you want it to fit your needs. Good luck 👍
Very nice! Thanks for sharing
I love the kitchen outside like you did, but id get the ramp and flip the door so it opens up rather than down. I would do a different interior build, but overall this is outstanding.
@@JohnSmith-xi2oq thanks
Beautiful job!
@@kay-wt2rw thanks
How nice of the people to show us their builds but your dragging them out too long!
@@LeahDailey-t5m Sorry, it was a lot to explain.
No need to apologize bro people are just stupid sometimes thanks for taking ur time to explain
Do you by chance have the measurements for the wood used to frame the kitchen. Also I noticed you mudding the trailer, did you add any insulation? We are in a colder climate
@cricketcricket5547 sorry I can’t remember the measurements. I'm not sure what mudding is, can you explain?
@AdventureContinuesAgain It looked like you mudded the seams and I thought perhaps you did some sort of insulating
just saw this, very helpful. I noticed the door is more like an rv style door. is that something diamond did for you or did you install that? a standard trailer door doesn't work obviously. Thanks!
@northwestpaintcorrectionan7002 Thanks. Yes I ordered it with an RV door. The company is actually Dynamite trailers, I misspoke. I think they are all made by the same manufacturer in Georgia.
Wow, love your camper and your true camping philosophy. Camping has changed to bringing your home out to a barren parking lot, sad! I love the approach of staying comfortable, dry, warm/cool and getting away from it all (instead of bringing it all with you, LOL). Happy camping!
@@neddufrene7281 Thanks!!!
Hats off to you! Beautiful job.
@@OldGoatGuero thanks old Goat!
Pete, I know that you have the 4.0L V6 in your 4Runner. Install a “Dry” cold air intake and have your 4Runner tuned with the Overland Torque Tune, (OTT). The OTT will increase your horsepower by 25 and your torque also by 25 more lb ft. You’ll also get 1-3 MORE mpg. We bought a new 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed. Our (my) Tacoma has the 3.5L Naturally Aspirated (NA) V6. The factory horsepower is 278 and the torque is 265 at 3,800 RPM. After installing the cold air intake and the OTT, my Tacoma now has 318 horsepower and 295 lb ft of torque at 2,300 RPM. I’m getting 22mpg at 82mph with the cruise control set on I-90 in Montana. Here in north central Washington state I set the cruise on 75mph on I-90 and I’m getting 23.5 - 25mpg. Before installing the intake and the OTT, I was getting 21 mpg in WA and 19-20mpg in MT. The OTT costs $450 - $500 and it’s worth every penny. Safe travels, Man !
When towing a trailer, it’s more stable on the road if your main weight is closer to the tongue. When I do my build, the kitchen will be at the front, bathroom next to it and the bedroom in the back. Just my preference.
@Doc1855 I agree, trailers with more weight on the tongue ride better and straighter. I have never weighed my trailer and don't know if it's tongue heavy or not, but I can say it rides straight as an arrow. I don't think my kitchen has a lot of weight. I can't pick my trailer tongue by hand so I imagine it's over 300lbs at the tongue. Good luck with your build and have fun camping!
We’re looking for a trailer about this size or a bit bigger. Our (my) 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab with a 6’ bed can only tow 6,500 #. I don’t want to tear up my truck, as I plan on driving it until I die. I’m quite sure that my wife will continue using it to plow our 5-7 ft of snow every winter off our private road until she passes away too. Luckily I drive less than 10K miles per year so in 20 years it’ll have less than 200K miles and because it’s a Toyota then I’m sure it’ll still be running well.
Nice build. I have an Outdoors channel and bout to buy a trailer to convert like you did. Really appreciate ya makin' the video Pete
@@DaGarbageDisposal good luck with your build!
Brother, you did an awesome job with this project….
Thank you
Thanks for sharing! We are hoping to start our build soon and are thinking to keep things light and simple like you did. Safe Travels!
@pointaadventures5361 thanks, and good luck with your build
You’re a bad ass sir!
Very nice build, you did a wonderful job! 👍
Thank you!
Lots of original ideas. Very nice
Thanks
Awesome camper! I love the ideas. Gives me something to work with on my own build. One of the best i've seen.
Thanks! Hope it inspires your build.
When you had this what was the MPG on your 4runner when towing?
At 65mph about 12 mpg
The bunkbed is genius! Well done.
Hey thanks
Can u stealth camp in these?
Heck yeah
And another nice part is that if anything leaks or breaks, you can probably figure out what and likely a cheap fix. If something breaks or leaks in a factory built camper, RV or 5th wheel, good luck. Expect to wait a while and spend a bunch.
Yeah, pretty simple, just a giant lunch box
Could easily be turned into an office with a bed.
Great video! What / How did you insulate??? Are you still using?
Yes still using it. Going camping next weekend. I purchased it with insulation.
Now that's how it's done ladies and gentlemen.
Thanks!
I forgot to ask you, do you like guacamole?!
I friggin love guacamole!!!
ugh, I knew you were going to get comments about the gray water. I would just fill that tub then throw it in the woods. It's water.
Yeah I know. It's the same thing tent campers do. Thanks for your comment!
One of the best builds I've seen. Love it. Is all of your stuff 120 volt? and have you found that you have needed 30 amps?
Yeah 120V. Yeah I like having two 15 amp breakers. I can run the AC or electric heater on one circuit and still be able to use the toaster over or coffee maker on the kitchen circuit.
110v -120v
Gave me some killer ideas for my own build thanks brother
Great! Glad you liked it. Good luck.
You will one day stand before God and answer for everything you have done. How will you do on that day? Here's a quick test: Have you ever lied? Have you ever stolen anything? Have you used God's name in vain? Have you ever looked at someone with lust? Have you had sex outside of marriage? Have you ever had, or been involved in, an abortion? Will you be guilty on Judgment Day? If you have done these things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, fornicating, blasphemer, adulterer at heart, and murderer, and the Bible warns that God will punish you in a terrible place called the lake of fire: Revelation 21:8: "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Yet God, who is "...rich in mercy,..." sent His Son the Lord Jesus Christ to suffer and die on the cross for all guilty sinners. We broke God's law and the Lord Jesus Christ paid our fine. That means God can legally dismiss our case and He can commute our death sentence. John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life." Then the Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead and defeated death. Please, repent of your sins and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, and God will give you eternal life as a free gift: Ephesians 2:8-9: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." John 14:6: "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Love this! We are Florida tent campers, and we have the portable ac etc but still the summer kills! This would be perfect for the 3 of us!! We were looking at pop ups and stuff but for the price and no insulation, couldn't justify it. I had built an enclosed trailer to haul our camping gear, but I think it's time to move on! The only down side we are having is our truck is the 4 cylinder Colorado which says it's towing capacity of 3500 but a total GVWR of 5500 so I'm a little confused on that stuff, but we def need to be camping trailer style now. Do you have blue prints for this or any advice? Thanks!!
If stay off the interstate, keeping it at 55 on the highway, I think you would not have any problems towing it with your truck. I don't have any building plans, I kinda just winged it. My advice is to buy a cargo trailer and use your imagination. Decide on what's most important. Beds, kitchen, bathroom. Look at other camper conversions and get ideas.
@@AdventureContinuesAgain ya that's what we were thinking too. I'd be curious to see what my 6x8 I closed I made weighs. I don't do over 65 and it pulls fine and I still get 17mph.. the only good thing about my 4cy 😂 . One day I'll do it.
Nice job 👍
Thanks Jeff
I really dig this build man 👍
Hey Thanks!
My husband and I are starting to convert our 8x16 cargo trailer. Did you insulate yours? If so, what did you use and are you happy with it?
I ordered mine with insulation. But it's very thin foam board that probably doesn't have much R value. And my floor has no insulation. I have camped as low as 27 degrees and as high as 94 degrees. Always comfortable. If the camper is parked in direct sun with no tree canopy in the summer it will get pretty warm but cools down nicely in the evening with the AC system I have.
I’m glad you’re having fun, but that’s too close
Excellent job!
Thanks Jim!
Looks awesome man. Where did you get the toilet?
I bought it on Amazon
This is awesome. Nice workmanship.
Thanks
move those fridge door hinges to the other side... word
🤣 so many people have commented on the fridge door swinging to the left. Cracks me up. I intentionally put it that way because if it swings to the right it hits the edge of the camper and won't open very far.
Love your video, I want to add a shower as well with only one sofa bed. Hey I have a 2021 4 runner and yeah at 3000 pds it seems to drop in the back and slight struggle. What year is your 4runner?
I had a 2014 4runner, loved it, but upgraded to a 2024 Tundra.
I know you posted this 3 years ago, but this helps me tremendously. I too have a 4Runner and I need something lightweight to pull. I like the idea of having the kitchen on the back end. I think I would do it slightly different due to changing weather conditions, but that idea is nice. Love the simplicity of the layout and of course people do things that suit their needs so kudos for that sir. Thanks again for sharing!
Thank you so much! 4runners are so awesome.
Love the build except where your dry water is going the fact that you can step on your plug-in and knock it on the ground when it’s raining outside and somebody can get shocked because you didn’t get the one that comes out of the floor and won’t pull out of the floor you got the one that plugs in on both ends instead and that’s a shock hazard. If somebody or a bear were to knock your plug-in, that’s plugged into your trailer out they would get electrocuted to death, the third thing is all the way in the trailer is supposed to be over the middle of the axles are in the nose mostly and you have all of the majority of the weight at the back of the trailer one wrong move on the highway doing anything over 45 miles an hour and you’re gonna find out how quickly you can jackknife and lose control of this trailer because where all the weight is placed other than that great job
Thanks for your feedback. Unsure what you mean by dry water. The electric cord I use is a standard RV 30 amp cord, female plugs into the camper/Male into the campground outlet. As far as the weight distribution of the camper everything seems good. Its nose heavy due to where the axle is placed making it track very well. I actually had a tire blowout on our last trip going 70mph and the trailer didn't sway or drift.
Great job, Pete!
Thanks!
Talkin bout a bucket of whater
...ummmm, I have no idea wheat you just said
