Blades LLC is a family run lawn care / lawn maintenance company in Northeast Pennsylvania. Established 2021 but practicing lawn care since the early 2000's. Our start up story is like many other lawn care companies in the business, a kid who mowed his own lawn and had a dream to one day make it something more. That dream has finally come true and this channel is the documentation of how our company develops. Follow along for tips, to dos and not to dos, equipment reviews, or to just get to know Blades LLC.
New Enclosed Trailer from Silverline Trailers.
We just picked up a 8.5x24 enclosed trailer from Silverline. The trailer has the high ceiling and side door with step. Lots of room and totally awesome people to work with. I will definitely return for future purchases. We used their rent to own program for the ease of entry. Not the best program for everyone, but it works at our stage of development.

Problems With Starting in Lawn Care! // Repairing Our Lawn Mowers (Again!!)

We broke a blade spindle assembly on our Simplicity Courier 2348 zero turn mower. We only have two zero turns and lots of customers, so this is catastrophic. Here is the repair diary. Problems happen, you just have to fix them before the customer is impacted.

One of the hardest things to do when you start a lawn care business is pricing. Too low pricing results in lost revenue and lost time. Too high pricing results in loss of work because you don’t get hired. This is how I priced this particular lawn service.

Saw a post on the BBB where they charged this guy 250% interest. Something like $33,000 on a $12k trailer. Guess that's their no credit check option
I'm interested in a 6x12 single axle w/barn doors but can't seem to find one. Salesman always try to talk me into whatever they have on the lot.

How did the rent to own work as in ownership of the trailer? Do you make payments to them til its yours? How many months and how big was the payment? I ask because im interested in a 8x20 enclosed through the rent to own from silverline in Allentown Pa.. Thanks
The cost of the trailer was $12,050. I had to put $300 security and the first payment of $446. This isn’t really a good deal but very low entry cost. I have 60 payments and then it’s mine. No prepayment penalty. I am trying to buy two mowers at about $25,000, so this trailer doesn’t hit your credit. If things go good in a year I’ll pay it off or refinance.
