What subscription do you use for your satellite intel. Appreciate you taking the time to help the rookies.
@@Shopguy402 im currently using Terrafin. Thats the only one ive used over the years. Others are partial to other pay services, theres s few free ones, too. I just dont have experience with them.
I know nothing and learned something. Very cool! 👍
@@webanon thanks!
Very nice!! I had to save this for next year too! Really thorough and educational. Thanks for summing up a lifetime of experience in this 36 min video!!!🤩
@@SNOWRYAN8 thanks!
Great day looks like, can't believe he ate the heart!
You can here me say, "that's nasty" or something similar. 🤣
I’m loving the underwater footage!!😊
@@SNOWRYAN8 we'll get more next time you you fish with us.
Great job Gunslinger and crew!
@@Brennan_fishon gracias amigo.
Crimony! Lose the music. (If you can call it that.)
@@glitchnyrmatrix7296 thanks for watching!
So I’m just starting out on my Albacore career. Where does one get those nifty full color displays of Sea Surface Temperature? I assume it’s a subscription service, but don’t really know. Seems essential for Tuna fishing.
@@AyeCarumba221 it is essential. Saves a ton of money in gas and often pin-points the area to search. I use TERRAFIN.
❤🤘
Great actiion and great crew inneraction. I would not call you half assed at all. I like it you are completely calm while you have controlled chaos on the deck! It looks like you are spiking your fish. That's very cool. I'm just curious if you have a drain in your bleed barrel and if you are draining the blood while you continue to fish? I've seen where some guys feel the blood scent trail will scare the fish. Thanks
@@TheRotchy1 its a thirty gallon barrel. I installed a pvc drain in the bottom. We dont drain until were done tuna fishing... instant sharks!
Great video! Can you tell me where you get the extended reel clamps with the hole for the rod leash? Did they come with your reels. Look like they are a good match. Thanks
@@TheRotchy1 ebay has them. Just seach fishing reel clamp. Billet alum. Work great.
Nice videos. I've watched a couple of them. I would also like to build a couple of those setups you showed. Would it be ok for me to email you at the address you posted below? And thank you for your service sir.
@@TheRotchy1 of course. Go for it.

@@Rowdynruby absolutely. But we be fast and you be slow, cuz we look good wherever we go. 😁

Great choice of shirt👍 tuna blood prob blends right in. Looks like a great day

If You like Canned tuna, Its very simple to Can Albacore at home. It will last many month in the refrigerator. When fresh, all these dark meat fish, are tasty any way you prepare them
Thanks for watching!
Best Vid yet Britha!!
@@SNOWRYAN8 hell ya... lets do it again. 😎🤘

@@RuffaRosette thanks asawa ko. 😘
You said your top shot mono was 250 lb. What pound test are you running for your braid and for your 6’ mono leader? And thanks a bunch for the video. I just bought a boat that will allow me to chase tuna so I’m trying to learn all I can.
Top shot is usually 150 to 250# on tuna rods, and 80# braid. I use 250# top shot on way-back rods, and 200# braid. Just depends on what ive got on hand and whats in stock at the store. You can always email, DM, or call. I can get you dialed in. Tight lines.
@@sssean39 thanks!
I like your setup and want to copy it but you never really show how you put it together. Is the leader to the first hook and the dropper on the same swivel eyelet? Can you lay it out and post a picture. I keep getting my speaker bars hooked on the bottom. Thanks Sean!
@@dadrunner send me an email to seanthomas@canby.com and ill get you a picture.
yes sir! nice job out there
@@HitchByHitch thanks!
Great job guys!
You gunna come fish with us again?
Nice video, Thanks for sharing. How far behind the boat are you running your terminal gear?
@@RoamAboutOutdoors i think it was 60-90 feet back friday, but id have to check with the crew chief. He sets gear. I drive. 😁
Good fishing, but hand lines would be much easier and much faster. You have room for about 4 across the back at different lengths. Use the polls to keep the fish coming. Don't pull them in until the hand lines don't produce. Just my opinion. You can do it anyway you like. Just have fun.
@@oregonbytheseaholt492 theres three handlines on the back of the boat. Just gotta watch the vid. We caught fish on them. Blue tuna cord.
Good work guys, looks like you guys worked very well together and nobody gettn worked up 👍 hope to get out there with you guys and Brennan on the nxt good weather window. - P.S i wouldn't consider you and crew Half-Ass fishermen 😂 looks like a lot of experience on the back of that boat
Its a great crew!
Great video Sean! I see Movin Weight got another appearance too! Pretty cool!
Thats a bad killin machine. 😎

Hello Great video Can you post a link to the squids that you’re using?

Here from fb, great video
Thanks, man. Stay tuned for part 2. Deploying, retrieving, and setting spread, etc.
You’re right Sean! I like having consistent gear and familiarity with using them. Oh god, I can’t wait to hear the spinning noise once a hog hits the bait🤗 Good idea about taking notes on the line so you know when it’s getting wear and tear. Any suggestions for videos on knots?🪢 Just know the FG knot with a judo finish? It’s nice having a couple extra rods in case one fails. What kind of coffee do you drink? I’m sure it’s important to have good coffee😉 Thanks for all the info!! Definitely helps me understand some of the whys and being a better fisherman.
FG knot with a Rizzuto finish... thats the knot weve been using for the last two seasons and it seems to hold up very well.
Thx for the breakdown, what length and action are you running on the Okuma rods?
Theyre a 6.0'. They dont list an action but are 30-60 lbs braided line class, 'Albacore Special.'
Excellent, Thx Sean. I bought a new halibut rod in that SST line this last week and put it to work Saturday 👍 we got a 52" on it. Seams to be a solid line of rods for under 100 bucks. Thx again
Nice video, thanks for sharing. I'm planning on tuna fishing this summer for the first time on my boat. If you could do a video on terminal tackle, how far to run each rod out, what to do when you catch a tuna as far as ice/water/salt, that would be awesome.
Great suggestions. I was planning a similar vid, partly on land and offshore to show instead of talk about the setup, spread, dive board/hand lines, etc. I like your suggestions also!
I can not seam to find the puffy ball things canyou tell me there Amazon name Thanks Steve
Sure... the ones we're using are: www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B086ZZXVQD?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
I enjoy fishing videos but this video is obviously so amateur filmmaking and terrible music that sounds like every opening successful videos I’ve heard in the past. Enjoy your success with fishing on your boat but , please there is not enough room for crappy content for us y-tube junkies to have to waste our time on the boring stuff. Just a thought. Thanks and good luck in the future.
Glad you enjoyed the vids!
I feel like we’ve come a long way since the Holdfast days!! lol 😂
Agreed, brother... the most important thing for me is still having fun. If its not fun i dont want to do it.
How they build this all the way from Collville and haul it through the mountains towards the Sound is a feat that they should totally make a video about.
I'd watch that video! Actually that would be a great job.
Thanks for the shot!
Welcome!
👍chunk of a fish, nice job. I bought a TJ Chinook Pro this winter and prepping for the Hali and Tuna out of Newport this spring/summer and was just curious about all the fuel jugs you have on board. I see your running a new boat now but looks like in this vid you are in a Alexis Pro or Chinook pro, did you need the extra fuel or just for multi-day deals? Did that boat have 80 gal fuel capacity? Thx for any input, first time with a boat capable of making the run and trying to gain knowledge
Hey, congrats on the new boat. Yes, my old boat was a alexis pro 22. Tank was 103gal. We fished offshore 65-70 miles out, and frequently stayed out 18+ hours... i ended up carrying 20gal extra for safety margin. Rule of 1/3's...
Gotcha, appreciate the feedback and Goodluck out there. Hopefully the ocean will give us some good days in the near future, been prty choppy with the wind this month
Sure is one hell of a vessel Sean
Sorry your vid didnt turn out. If yoj look you can see me with my cam out the window...
How long is that package from the tongue of the trailer to the motors? Thank, Jason
33 feet on the boat and probably 6 feet of trailer to the tongue. Total should be right around 39 feet.
🤟👏👏

Great idea on the descender. I’m going to put one of those together before season
