When the FDA approved Xolair to be used in the food allergy space and it began popping up in allergist offices nationwide (including our own!), we wanted to sit down with someone from the source.
Dr. Larry Tsai is a physician, food allergy parent, and a senior leader at Genentech, the pharmaceutical company that creates Xolair. In this episode, we ask him to explain how the injection works in layman's terms, how it compares to the protection offered by desensitization treatment programs, what this means for the future of food a...

Saw my arm off worth it-100% 😂 TIP is so hard-it is all emotions tied together in a big ball of hope. My son is still in the early stages but so far no issues-praying this continues. It will be so worth it to achieve food freedom!

We are flying to Orlando in October with our peanut allergy 15 month old. Our only option for a nonstop flight is southwest and i read they stopped letting people with peanut allergies preboard. This has my anxiety at an all time high. Any advice? They will let us board early but not first. We can board between A and B.

Hey Ashely! I fly exclusively SWA and always pre-board because of my food allergies. My last flight with them was just a few days ago actually. If you follow the script we talk through in this episode I think you'll be a-okay. I hope this helps!

This is great, love that you are sharing from both the patient and caretaker perspectives! Sarah, we met in the FAI parking garage before my 15 year old son’s 1st visit and I can’t thank you enough for your compassion and the hug you gave, because you just get it! So excited to listen to more of this show ❤

My peanut kids sit on the edge of the table with friends that know they are allergic and protective in a way toward them. Kindergarten and 3rd grade, With my kindergartener the adults do keep a close eye on her area. I will say in preschool she ate in the classroom and had a separate table to sit at, poor girl was the only one sitting at it and she didn’t like it at all and was so glad she got to safely eat with her friends because she knows how to keep herself safe.
