2:01 I would've been curious to hear your guess for the Tesla. The "too new" Model S is a first year 2012 model. RWD hence the large frunk, and green was discontinued after 2014. Added an info sheet in the frunk because at shows someone has typically asked, "Is it a Plaid?"
You know you're Tesla's! I'd love to go to a car show with you, and exchange knowledge. Im not as knowledgeable with late model cars. Thanks for watching.
LOVE the engine in that red '67 Chevelle. Looked like an awesome show. Thanks for posting!
That was one of my favorites as well! Thanks for watching.😃
@@68Stang Absolutely!
I think that was a Cadillac motor in that Chevy :)n I VStar or VTech? I don't remember.
That was my first impression as well.
Not much experience, eh? Pull the clutch in way early w/o letting deceleration slow you down. It sounds like the chain is making lotta noise, too and you might want to check yer gear oil levels.
Thanks for showing us the "install".. im ready to go out and tackle it now with all the info i learned 🤡
The box of screws will help a lot!
You are just a boater, but your boat is shaped like a 68 Mustang!
Dammit! Now I am hungry for elephant 😂
You need to take a trip with me to my buddies place eibys machine shop cialis Puerto Rico

Not really, i have a hairdresser that makes it look that way. It's on the way out for sure.
Pete when your dad installed a 351 Cleveland engine in a 1967 mustang fastback he had to cut out fender wels for the headers to fit but that car would fly
I asked him about his 67 once because i was young when it was stolen. I asked him if it was rusty. He told me pushed on the dimmer switch once and it went through the floor. 😊
Where do I find Part 2 of this video?
Hello gigisauto1319. I did not make a Part 2, but id be happy to try an answer any questions that you might have. Hit me up with any questions! Thanks for watching.
Love brother ! Always think positive
Thanks sonnyhenry312! I appreciate you, thanks for watching!
There is no reason a safety inspection would involve headlight "adjustment", there isn't any reason they would try to adjust your headlights and mess them up. They wanted you to buy new ones because they didn't like how faded the OEM's were, what a scam. Also those are the OEM Sylvania headlight housings, hopefully you kept them because they're rare
I did keep them! I'll probably restore the OEM ones. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe.
Nice thanks. I came on here hoping to see you actually put it in so I can see what you did to make the wires compatible?
Thanks for watching! The light mounted easily, 2 screws. Wiring wise, one wire is a ground (you can ground anywhere close by). The other (positive wire ) had a bullit connector on it. I bought a kit and crimped a bullit connector on it. Hope this helps.
Hi Pete. I also have a 68 and am researching aftermarket tach install. I actually have an in-dash (clock replacement) mini-tach, but I found an original tach and gauge frame, and I do have a GT wiring harness, but I may get this converted to a 3 wire digital tach. What wiring harness / coil / ignition setup do you have? Did you plug directly into the harness or were there are wiring mods made?
Hey Mike! Thanks for the comment. I made mods on mine. You can get switched 12v power from the back of the ignition switch. Ground can go anywhere. I've got a GM HEI distributor so i ran the green wire straight to the 12v- on that distributor. That's what i got going on for now, I'm getting ready to do a complete rewire of that car with the American Autowire setup, so things will change. I'll be making a bunch of videos during that process. Thanks for watching, good luck on your 68'.
70 GTO you never see them!
You are so right, you never see them. Ive seen this one at the local pub before. Couldn't believe i was looking at it. Sweet ride. Thanks for the comment TM!

S code, nice! I read an awesome article in a hot rod mag years ago. The title was "Look at that S code go". Cool article about a father son team picking up a S code and the father pulling away with the S code which made the son say, "Look at that S code go." Thanks for the comment Jeffrey Powell!
Looks like your slowly getting things done to this mustang my friend JJV I have helped him in restoration of many classics and when I went to Japan to buy a couple right side drive skylines and shipped back to Delaware for a friend it was fun drifting there in Japan and running other little rice grinders oh by the way use the ceramic wax does nice clean up job and really makes it shine and protects as well any questions about things on the pony car call and let's talk ok thanks your uncle Paul
Watching your vids again, Jonesin to ride mine! Raining, sleeting, snowing here right now. Couple things, Turning the throttle when engine off does nothing but open butterflies. No acceleration pump on this bike. What's happening is if parked awhile the float bowls dry out and with a vac. operated petcock won't fill without cranking engine. To save the battery/starter pull small hose off petcock, install a length of hose and apply vacuum to it for 30 seconds. You can just suck on it. Bike will start immediately. Lube a chain right when you get back from a ride. Then it's hot, absorbs the lube better, plus can dry off completely before next ride. Save your next pizza box, put the lid between the chain and wheel, then you can blast away on the bottom run, really soak the chain, with zero overspray. I do it once a tank. Spray is cheap, chains and sprockets aren't.
Solid advise! Thanks Pete. Manual accelerator pump, i love it. I have to try that. I always have a pizza box around so i have to try that.
Improper ridding gear..you don't come to full stops ..you still have a lot to learn..
looks like the low idle is a bit rough . might run some carb cleaner through it .. or take carbs off and clean .. little rough sounding
i have same bike . i know how mine sounds
also i like to run synthetic oil in mine ..runs, shifts alot smoother .. they have a kind for wet clutches
Hey Craig, thanks for the comment! You're right, whenever i get it out this spring, I'm going to run some Berryman's B-12 through it. Also, i started running ethanol-free gas in it. That has helped the carbs out quite a bit.
Run only what is recommended..
Subbd. for the Nighthawk content only. I just picked up a 92 with 20k miles in great shape end of Oct. Got a few rides in before it got cold here in PA. Now it's in the basement for maint. and mods. Pull carbs, clean, and up-jet, lube cables, adj. steering bearings, etc. etc. How many miles on yours? There is a whine from yours at 14:55 that shouldn't be there. Chain too tight? Better loose than too tight. Bike charging systems: Small battery, not optimal charging system. Just keep on the tender when parked. The 83 650 Nighthawk was particularly bad. Won't charge till 2-3k rpm. Discharges at idle. Had one back in 83. Ive had several 1100-1300cc bikes through the years, now going back down in size as I get older. Keep the riding videos coming!👍
Thanks Pete! I will check the chain, it's amazing how such a little adjustment goes a long way with the chain. My bike has around 13,000 miles maybe 14,000. I bought it in 2002 with like 2,400 miles on it. It really has been an incredible bike. I do keep it on a trickle charger when it is parked in the garage.
What was wrong with the old one?. I am thinking of getting a champion rad for my 67. Is that a 3 core rad?
Hey Craig, the old one had a leak at the bottom. Not sure if a weld broke from vibration, or ??? I could smell the antifreeze when i was driving, and had to add coolant to the overflow tank quite often. Both the rads are 3 cores. I mainly got the same one because i knew it would fit. Thanks for watching, please subscribe.
Hey… you didn’t mention the rejetting of the carb
Oh, yeah. We rejetted the Holley 2 bbl. It had a 73 jet in it, and we went to a 71. You could smell gas when it was running before, now you don't smell the gas as bad. The car runs great under load, no hesitation off idle.
Thanks for the video! Loved your bike, keep taking good care of it👐🏼
Thank you Samuel! I've owned this bike since 2002, and plan on riding it until i can't anymore. Thanks for watching. Keep the shiny side up! Please consider subscribing.
Where'd you get the passenger grabrail behind the seat? They're not stock on these bikes, I always thought they looked bare without one.
I bought that bike in 2002 with like 1,400 miles on it. Basically brand new, the previous owner sold it to me with that grab bar (i installed it, it bolts to the frame and is solid. You can pick the bike up with it.) He also had a corbin seat, windscreen (i dont use the windscreen), engine guards, and a honda service book. Im not sure where to find or buy those grab rails. Maybe ebay? or a nighthawk page on Facebook. Thanks for watching, please consider subscribing.😁

Two things... 1st of all, your charging system is working well, and 2nd, your battery had enough of a charge in it to run your bike after jumping it, and bump-starting it... if your battery had been completely dead, your bike would have died in the driveway, or you'd be stranded at that gas station. The charging system in most bikes is "maintenance" system... in other words, your battery is fully charged at 12volts, and the charging system maintains that charge. It's not designed to work like an alternator in a car... in a car, if you jump a dead battery, the alternator will completely run all the systems in the car (even if you unhook the battery), and also recharge the battery. A motorcycle system doesn't do that; it's designed only to maintain the battery when it's fully charged to 12volts - it will Not recharge the battery, like an alternator does... I've had far too much experience with all of this on my 1983 Nighthawk 650SC... when not riding your bike, keep the trickle charger hooked up to the battery... otherwise, if a battery discharges too many times, it will destroy the cells, and you'll be buying a new one every year... I have a good-old-fashioned Yuasa battery, with open cells, so I can top off the cells if need be... mainly because I can't find an AGM closed-cell battery here on Oahu, in Hawaii... but maybe I'm old fashioned, as I like to be able to see the acid levels in the battery...Aloha! :)
Hey Ian, thanks for the comment! I am always learning.😀 I do actually have a "trickle" charger, i just had it unplugged. Duh! The battery was 7 years old, so i got a pretty good life out of it. The next time you need a battery, hit me up. I'll ship one out to you. I got a good buddy who lives in Maui. Please consider subscribing, more "Adventures" to come. Thank you.
@@68Stang my Nighthawk came with the trickle charging pigtail already installed - used it several times when I first bought the bike, because I was having charging issues. Traced the issue to my dying Stator; bought a new one ($180 landed to my door), bought a good used Regulator off eBay ($38), installed them both. Bike was running fine... then one day, while leaving my local Supermarket, the bike went dead - no lights, nothing! I found out the the 30-amp fuse on the starter solenoid had popped. Replaced it, but still had no lights etc. Fortunately, I was only a 1/2 mile from my house, so I pushed it home. Thought I had a dead-short somewhere, so I started taking the front end off - Headlight, completely took apart the fuse block, took apart the ignition switch (That was a bitch to put back together!), all to look for burnt wiring, crossed wires etc. Put it all back together, then figured it was time to change out the battery... it had sat for long periods of time before I bought the bike, then had been recharged from dead at least a 1/2 dozen times after I bought it. Couldn't find a closed-cell AGM here on Oahu (which is what was in the bike when I bought it), so went to the local Napa store, and bought a Yuasa for about $60. After filling the cells with the supplied acid, and letting it sit overnight (as recommended in the instructions), I installed it, and I've never had another issue with the charging system.... turns out the battery finally created a dead-short inside itself... so, I never think twice about going on rides and being stranded because an electrical issue... I do however, have full coverage insurance through Geico, so if the bike breaks down for whatever reason, it will be towed back to my house free of charge... What camera are you using to record videos? I want to start videoing my rides.... Aloha!

Just bought myself a red '82 FA50 Showing 780 miles on the OD when I bought it. Starts first kick every time so far and ran great for the 35 mile ride back home.
I'm jealous. I've been looking for another to mess with. So much fun! Thanks for watching.😁
Not to fond of the electric fuel pump like everything stock original carburetor and the Cold start
i agree, i will switch it to a stock fuel pump one day. I've already replaced the electric fuel pump once already. Thanks for watching!😁
@@68Stang you don't have to use the fuel pump do you when you do another cold start
@@jjeremy350 i only have an external electric fuel pump on this car. The mechanical one was removed by the previous owner and has a block off plate.
Thinking of getting a 91 night hawk with 30,000 miles for 2500 what do u think!
Seems a bit high for 30,000 miles. $1,500-$2,000. I'd look for something with lower miles.
@@68Stang awsome thanks! I didn’t end up picking it up I’m still looking!
the lower the miles the better! 15,000 or less. Getting the carbs cleaned is what costs, and they can be tricky to rebuild yourself. So you want a good running one.
HRC 💯
Just get LED Flashers
I believe they were originally white from the factory a 1157 bulb the amber bulbs are 1157a allot of people switched to amber over the years I have a 68 coupe as well and I put the amber bulbs in and have switched to LEDs as well. I have switched all bulbs in the car to LEDs as well. including sequential tail lights. Your turn signals are slow because you need to change out you flashers. there are 2 one for turn signal and 1 for hazards. Nice Mustang.
Dave, thanks for all the awesome info! Do you by chance have a part number or link to a flasher that would work better for me? Thanks in advance.😊
See if you can find an cylinder from an honda express, slap it on .
I love that idea! I'll start looking for a cheap one. Thanks😁

I have the same model it's ridiculously fun. I keep coming back to this video to remind myself how much better condition I could keep mine in. It's got lots of dings. Needs a decent wire job and upgraded parts. But it starts up every day!
