Bell ringing at St. Peter and St. Paul church in scarning Norfolk
Great slo mo!
Thank you
Nice
Spitalfields was really hard to record but all the bells were a nice ring
Definitely, it didn’t help with the two broken stays so the rings were so close together
@@RingerMax09 absouloutly
I was there too, it was so much fun. And well done on Bows tenor.
Thanks! Definitely a great day out!
@@RingerMax09 it was a great day.
I could here fire alarm in backeound
Amazing mate congratulations
Thanks 👍
@ringermax09 at my home tower, they have a 23 CWT tenor And I’ve been bugging the captain about ringing it for ages, but he always says no brilliant isn’t it? I can only Guess that The Mancroft tower captain is relatively chilled about youngsters ringing big bells
At my home tower, it took me ages to build up to ring the 22 cwt tenor, hope you get to ring it soon 🤞
@@RingerMax09 i think your slightly younger than me isnt the 09 part on your name when you were born not triying to be nosey or anything. at some point im planning to go to redcliffe and have a go at the 50cwt tenor up there but the heaviest ive ever rung was 19cwt rung it up and down. on my channel there are videos of the church i regularly ring at feel free to subscribe
@@bellringer22 yes i am 14, good luck with a 50 cwt bell. The heaviest ive rung is 40cwt
Sounds very nice indeed
Thanks
Sounds similar to all saints maidstone and Dalton ST Marys a bit
Sort of
Great ringing max! Keep it up 👍
Thanks, will do!
Your doing very well keeping that tenor going! 😃
Thanks! 😁
@@RingerMax09 no problem, it's nice to see some younger ringers getting involved and stopping ringing becoming a dying art
I must agree. Its great to see younger ringers. And hot that it will stick too them.
@@RingerMax09 definitely!
You can tell miles off there Eb
They are some of the best out there
Great video max!!
Thanks!
@@RingerMax09 I had a question for you by the way!
Yes?
@@RingerMax09 it’s a bit of a silly question if that’s okay 😂
Im sure you ask me a silly question each week. Yes?
I rang York minster’s 59cwt tenor in July
I have not yet had the delights of ringing there.
these bells sound pretty nice good video!!!
Thanks a lot
np can you maybe do a ringing up ringing 1 handstroke and backstroke and ringng down video at your towers one day@@RingerMax09 (on each bell)
@@RingerMax09 also a scantus bell
@@ΝΙΚΟΣΠΟΔΑΣ-δ4σ yes it does but it is now unused and retired
Really nice bells, doubt Gilletts retuned them in 1932
I’ve rung here I would love to ring the tenor
Definitely worth it!
@@RingerMax09 agree
that tenor is a beautiful bell would like to ring it myself one day
@@bellringer22yeah me to it it says 38 100 weight
Good job! Very nice technique
Very good! What would be better is that if you shortened the rope, it would be easier for you to control rather than having to fight the bell in order to get it in the right place. Hope this helps 😊
Thanks for the tip!
The bells sound like the middle 6 of york minister
Your ringing and technique is amazing btw
Thank you. I try to learn techniques off other people.
Hey max! Could I ask you a question?
Of course
@@RingerMax09well i was just wondering if you had any social medias? Would love to give you some ringing advice (not that you need much!)
Sorry I don’t have much social media but I am happy with you to tell me on here
@@RingerMax09 No that’s okay! I say “advice”, there’s not really anything with your technique at all. The only thing I would say is make sure that when you’re covering on the tenor, you keep nice and close over the small bells. Bigger bells take longer to swing, so you need to pull a bit earlier in order to keep in the right place. But you’re doing really, really well!
Very good! One piece of advice - when you are coming down from the back, towards lead, move your hands up the rope (take the rope in) so you keep your arms straight. And as soon as you lead, let it out again (move your hands down away from the sally). Your arms will be straight all the time, and you'll have much better control of the bell (especially when you move onto the bigger bells, you cannot ring with bent arms - the bell will win) :-)
Jesus 😳 well done 😊
Thanks
Eb
Yes
Well done Max.👍 How long is the sally it looks rather long.
I am not sure. Bigger than me.
@@RingerMax09 quiet tall then.
Probably around 6ft
Beautiful! Good job, Max!
Thanks
well done Max. Great ringing
Thanks
@@RingerMax09very good I like heavy bells the heaviest bell I have ever rung weighs 19cwt
@@RingerMax09I just noticed in the videos description it says 37cwt in c just to let you know it's 37cwt in b just pointing it out
cast by john taylor john taylor bellfounders mears and stainbank tenor 34-3-6cwts hung on 4 levels and a sharp 2nd
They are on two levels. Installed in 1976 with the back four on top. George Pipe asked for this arrangement to improve audibility in the ringing chamber.
I’m in that video on that outing to ipswich
Awesome! Great to see the younger generation learning the ropes...
Yes that’s correct
cast by thomas mears willam mears lester and pack g mears and co and john taylor
Thats right
I was convinced Scarning had a metal frame! I learn something new everyday!
@ringer_ollie it is a pure oak frame with metal supports. There is barley no tower movement and mostly frame
Rung here back in the summer!! They are really nice bells!
Yes. They are a local tower as-well. I ring there every practice. I remember when they were a pain to ring but they have been restored and are much better to ring
@@RingerMax09 Must come and visit again! They are great bells - they sound lovely and your right, they are really easy to ring! I also have a video of Scarning too.
@@tittumsit would be nice if you do a video of here
Rang a Qp here! Are you max that I met in Cambridge?
Yes 😂
@@RingerMax09 Ah okay, cool! I think I’ve got another Quarter at Dereham soon!
