    anyone have mildew problems with linseed oil on raised beds? I live in the pnw and my research indicates that linseed oil can act as food for mildew.

    I’m confused about flaxseed and Lindseed oil. I don’t have time to wait for a lindseed oil to come in, can I just buy flaxseed oil from the grocery store and use that? It’s basically the same, right?

    Just a random question, but do you think the ultimate spar urethane water based is safe to use for planter boxes? Just wondering.

    Here we have had over 30 days of 115 or more up to 119 in the phoenix area . My Fig tress is dieing and I dont kn ow if it is the heat of under or over water. I have a timer to give sprayed water for 10 mi nutes at 7:30pm but I raised it to 17 minutes today. But all but 10 % of the leaves dried up and fell, and all the tiny fruit has dried up and fall if you touch them. So can you tell me if it is the heat, over or underwatering please?

    Hi! I just identified some leaves from plants that appeared out of nowhere in my front yard - four of them and they are growing very quickly - identified on a plant identifier app as pecan trees. Is this possible? I am in Northern California. The leaf, with its pointed tip and serrated edges, looks exactly like the leaf of the pecan tree in photos. I have no idea why these trees would be going growing here except that I did feed pecans to wild turkeys for a while a few years back. Any ideas? Thanks

    Great advice - thank you!! I purchased 6 containers like the one on your video. What are you using for inside the container to help prevent rotting? Plastic Liners?

      He answered that question in his video, raw linseed oil has no chemical additives and is all natural versus boiled linseed oil may contain added chemicals.

    Plz answer our questions 🙏What can we use to protect the INSIDE the box?? We are using 2x6 pine wood

    • @adam.d
      @adam.d 2 года назад

      I have used excess pool liner material stapled to the inside of similar boxes. You can also use heavy black poly drop sheet material (available at home depot). Any type of thick plastic sheeting would do. Drape the material into the box without cutting it. Cover the sides and bottom and fold it into place for a neater fit. Staple the folds against the wood with a staple gun to secure them into place. Think of it as wrapping a present inside out. Once you have the inside neatly covered, cut the excess material along the top edges. You can even leave an inch or two extra and fold the top cut edge and staple it into place for a cleaner finish. Then drill large spaced-out holes along the bottom for drainage. Don’t be shy with the holes. You can place them a foot or 6 inches apart, for example, depending on the size of your box and how well draining your planting medium is. Go with your gut. You can staple small squares of chicken wire fencing cut to size to cover the drain holes. If you are making bottomless boxes, basically just the 4 sides placed on the ground, measure out strips of the thick plastic sheeting, enough that they wrap around the inner sides and bottom edge of the wood and maybe even an inch of wrap around the front. Then staple it into place to cover the inner surface. Basically, you want to create a layer of separation against prolonged direct contact with moisture so that the wood doesn’t eventually start soaking up water in place of the raw linseed oil. Good luck!

      I've been looking around and Linseed oil isn't water resistant nor mould resistant. Tung oil is both water & mould resistant but a fair bit more expensive.
