Perhaps it’s just me, but I find the whole GS inspired-by-nature design thing is getting really old. Yes, they are the same 😂

I think it’s a great watch for someone like me who wants a traditional looking watch that tracks activity through out the day with minor notifications. I don’t want to have multiple devices on me. If I’m working out then yes, Apple Watch. If I’m going out I could do this or something more formal. As everyday watch this will do also.

I have the solar version of the t touch, I think it is the best watch ever, so far never needed to charge it up, great to be able to actualy see the day and date without squinting and pulling out a lupe. So well made it us a like a swiss knife of watches for survival., the clincher is that it is also a fantasic mechanicl watch with moving parts, just fascinating to see it, wear it and forget you have it on your wrist. I like to to see a apple or casio perform when you are not near a phone tower in the middle of nowhere, stuck on an island, LOL

The Backes & Strauss is 100 times more interesting and more fun than the Cubitis. That it’s NOT a Santos makes it cool. Hit for me.

The LUC Lunar One with the blue dual is truly gorgeous IMHO. I will never own one 😅

Perhaps I’m alone in this, but I’m SO over the Speedy being on the moon 😴💤 For me the ‘story’ is getting really old in so many ways. Omega needs a new, more original, more forward-looking schtick.

Without a date and with 20mm lug width it would have been an improvement. But as it is, nah.

I always want to watch this but have to give up because the sound levels are so off... I can hardly hear Ariel and then Ripley is deafening! There's no volume setting that works. Guess I'll wait for the podcast version again.

The Miss Piggy Oris has the Pigs In Space thing going on. It’s brave in some ways and yeah it’s a form of marketing, but Oris is not part of a price-gouging conglomerate so they have to do what they have to do. Yeah, should have done a date like the Kermit. So, I don’t love it either. And Miss Piggy would wear an 18ct gold Daydate paid for by Kermy. Maybe.

PRX = Plastic inside, Regulation impossible, Xtremely overhyped. “A bit basic” yeah ie overpriced for what they are - there’s a theme with today’s ‘luxury’ watch pricing 🤔. Saying that Starmer wears one is not exactly a good sales pitch 😂. The Citizen Zenshin is half the price and looks more expensive than a PRX. Miss for me.

The 222 in SS is a solid hit for me, even at $32k - you’re paying the VC holy trinity Richemont tax. I couldn’t afford it if it was a quarter of the price, so just admirable from afar. If you want the style don’t buy a PRX, get a Citizen Zenshin instead.

RM - not a hit, not a miss, not a maybe, just meh as it’s irrelevant to at least 99.999999% of watch buyers and an even smaller proportion of the general public. Honestly it just leaves me cold. I think it’s more a Positional Good than a Veblen Good, but either way it’s really not about the watch’s design or functionality, but rather what it confers on the wearer.

Props to the model name too. Just makes me want to re-enlist. But it’s going to be hard to get military types to give up their g-shocks and luminox pieces. This is more something a retiree gets once they land a good job post service, collecting a pension, and want something to remind themselves of their service whilst letting everyone around them know they served and were badass. Jokes aside, watch is a hit so as long as interest rates for the loan aren’t too high

Fitness trackers are mostly full of worthless gimmicky junk that sounds intriguing on the surface, but once you own them for awhile you are likely to not even use them. For instance sleep measurement. The Garmin i used sleep tracking capabilities were a joke, and honestly who can't tell rather or not they had a solid night of sleep? If you're concerned about sleep go take an actual medical sleep test. Some of us want a watch that can track exercises including calories burned, heart rate and steps. Anything else is unnecessary. This watch does these things and doesn't need to be recharged every two days. You can easily get over a month without charging while tracking the most important aspects of fitness. Add all this with notifications and it's a win. A true watch that can do it all. No way this is a miss.

The Panerai - maybe - nice that it’s thinner, nice dial colour, they’ve tried to be distinctive with the bracelet, but 50m wr with THAT crown clamp, come on guys! 🙄 Another Richemont brand that has lost its way sadly.

Seamaster bronze gold - miss - I’ve always really disliked the Omega Seamaster hands design, so I’m prejudiced, but it looks too contrived for me and the price is taking the Michael now.

Citizen Promaster maybe - clever, I like the overall look, but just too much going on for me, looks like they threw everything including the non-titanium kitchen sink in.

The Z in Zulu refers to "zero", i.e. the 0-degree or prime meridian. We use Zulu time in commercial aviation, too.

Does the wall come with the banana, or do you have to buy that as well as the gaffer tape? Gaffer tape a Cubitis to a square wall! 😂

If you’re a very wealthy tennis and/or Novak fan, the Hublot is very cool. They’ve done well with the story behind it. Hit.

The Omegas’ mesh bracelet adds to the uncomfortable wearing experience of the already overly thick case. Not for me. Maybe; because there might be enough potential buyers out there, but otherwise yeah a bit meh.

I don’t understand the AP. Maybe 🤷‍♂️.

Jaguar: the rebranding epic fail to end all epic fails. Yeah, they’re all waiting for somewhere in their dystopian world to charge the car that doesn’t exist. Epic miss. The nose of the Hyundai looks like a bit like a Dodge Charger.

I dont understand why they didnt use a snowflake hand for the gmt hand

I was the 1st person in the U.S . to receive this watch and it is unmatched in the chronograph/dive category. The watch is simply perfect. Tight, crisp, pushers. Alignment of all indices is so exact you cannot find a flaw. Mine only gains 1sec per day. 5x the watch of a submariner.

I swear it looks like an Aliexpress special. Anyone who's been on there knows there are homages and bastardized homages and this strikes of the latter. What a disaster. I'd like to say Thierry Stern's thoughts after release would quell my discontentment but DAMN!

How can it be unsettable? What a Moron (Soz)! GMT's are used differently by different people and rarely set to GMT/UTC/Zulu unless you live in the UK. Nobody uses the 3rd timezone so the dive bezel thing does makes sense, but a GMT bezel is just way cooler (especially a Rolex one) visually and clickually. Zulutime went through various transitions. One was 'Z' time previously but the different pronunciations (Zee/Zed) caused confusion. Zulutime is already taken by the Longines (a great watch IMO).

Coming out of the woodwork. I do like the Cubitus on the wrist. I can see why some people don’t love it but for a vpean sports watch with a little bit of creative styling rooted in PP historical design, it is very nice. PP has made some great watches over the past few years. The 5326g is one that stands out to me as one of the best sets of complications and presentation. The inline perpetual is great and all of the perpetual chromosome up to and including the 5270P are really special pieces.

The Vulcain Nautique without the date looks much better than this and has a 20mm lug width.

Guys…in aviation we use GMT (zulu) as reference time for flight management, weather and NOTAMS. What is also useful for this watch is you can easily change the time zone with bezel instead of pulling the crown. This is the best watch of this year. I’m a Speedy guy but this is better than the speedies released this year. I am excited!

Hit Miss Maybe: Cubitis: maybe - I’m with Ariel on this one. It’s incredibly lazy and far too expensive, but will sell because of the name. Greubel: miss - life is too short for this watch to exist. Tudor: maybe - looks nice, but I feel Tudor’s homaging itself now. Yes, it’s ‘Zulu Time’ because the French hate the British. Breitling: maybe - the srp, the size, both will limit appeal.

People in charge with money and power surround themselves with yes-people, are colossally arrogant and self-important, and can’t handle the slightest criticism. Many of today’s ‘journalists’ are easily influenced by self-interest and just regurgitate press releases. Who knew!!!

It’s a beautiful watch. This new iteration is slimmer, more pressure resistant, and now with a ceramic bezel. If you were a fan of the divers 65 you will be a fan of this. At $2700, but probably $2000 from your AD, I probably buy the off white colorway

I think it looks fine. a lot of talking down on this podcast. You are essentially punishing Oris for going to the trouble of developing an in house movement and recovering their costs. That's a bad thing now?

They took a vintage inspired diver with materials that have an organic glow and age beautifully (bronze bezel edge and aluminum insert) and made it too modern, sterile, and shiny like the aquis. This watch has completely lost its character. It’s a shame because the new proportions work better for a vintage style watch.

The red Oris rotor is the worst looking rotor in watchmaking. Looks like junk.

Uninspiring release for sure. Too generic and too plain. Why display that red rotor? Old models were a lot better imo. They should revisit no date with cal 400 option.

A divers date sounds intriguing. 7pm at N 25° 03.160' W 080° 20.020. I’ll be wearing an oxygen tank.

The bezel is missing a 12 for obvious reasons … and the dial is missing a 6 is even for more obvious reasons … what is the person saying ?
